@17caterpillars1mouse so glad it’s not just me who thinks it’s the worst pain ever! People who I know who haven’t had toothache say it’s not that bad whilst I’m bashing my head against the wall 😂 it was worse this time cos I could only take paracetamol which wasn’t even touching it. I’ve taken paracetamol now and it’s eased off so it’s already so much better than the toothache. It took 40 minutes to get this bad boy out 😂 I’m so relieved I felt so bad for baby I was screaming crying for a week, but he/she was thinking wtf 😭😂

Landsmen · 31/05/2023 22:57

I'm 14 weeks today went for a nice meal with friends and the whole things just ended up in the toilet. I almost pulled over on the way home to throw up out the side of the car too. I'm feeling very sorry for myself

wannabemum38 · 31/05/2023 23:03

@Landsmen That happened to me last night it sucks doesn't it especially when you have enjoyed the meal.

ThomasinaLivesHere · 01/06/2023 06:10

Sorry to read people are still suffering from sickness. I have it quite mild now. Hopefully as we enter the second trimester it goes away.

Justanothercyster · 01/06/2023 06:59

@17caterpillars1mouse I felt it at 9 weeks! And read about it and you can feel it that early second time around. It's so lovely isn't it. How do you know you're anterior?

Aw no @Landsmen that's annoying!

Think I'm going to try and not take my anti sickness this morning and see what happens...

@Justanothercyster I find if I don't eat breakfast I feel worse throughout the day

17caterpillars1mouse · 01/06/2023 07:21

@Justanothercyster

I asked at my private scan at 10 weeks as I had one last time and really missed all the huge movements I had with my first when the placenta was at the back so I was really hoping it wouldn't be at the front again.

At 10 weeks she said it wasn't attached yet but she thought it would be at the front. I then asked at the NHS scan and she said the same, she couldn't tell for sure but thought it would be at the front. She basically scolded me for caring though lol

Hi all!

Glad to see everyone is doing well! The time is absolutely flying!! Can’t believe it’s almost 2nd trimester for some of us late Dec due dates. Got our wedding in one week and once that’s gone I think my mind will be 100% in baby mode which I’m looking forward to.

Anyone experiencing quite intense hot flushes especially when eating and in the evenings? Sickness has cooled off since yesterday but hot flushes were insane! ✨

hotpotlover · 01/06/2023 09:25

Hi everyone!

Has anyone else not gotten their scan appointment yet?

I am 12 weeks pregnant and haven't heard from the hospital yet.

I am in Birmingham.

I have my midwives appointments though xx

Ring them, this happened to me and they'd lost my scan referral!

Justanothercyster · 01/06/2023 11:17

@DaisyMay25 not taking the pill definitely backfired on me 🤢 maybe I do need them still for a while.

@17caterpillars1mouse oh that's interesting, they told me at my private scan you can't tell until 20 weeks as the placenta hasn't formed this early.

@smldnlove I've had a couple of hot flushes but mainly feeling cold all the time weirdly 🙈

@hotpotlover definitely query that with your midwife as there's a cut off for the screening tests at 14 weeks, they have to do a different screening test after that x

@FlyingHighFlyingLow defo ring them. I'm in Warwickshire and with my first pregnancy they kept on saying I needed to see the anaesthetist and they kept on losing my paperwork and they gave me an emergency appointment a week before I was induced.

I've got my booking in appointment today. I feel so sick. I just can't shift it. I'm nibbling like it's going out of fashion but nothing is helping.

And I've still got my cold so today is going to be fun.

The midwife text me this morning to see if she could have my application earlier but I'm in a teams call with work so I said no can do. Anybody else had something like that happen?

wannabemum38 · 01/06/2023 12:17

Sickness still happening for me during night only a little though but annoying at 2 or 3 in morning.
Got my scan in 2 hours so nervous that everything is okay. Trying to take comfort I have a little bump and still getting sick as positive signs bean is growing.

RG84 · 01/06/2023 13:15

I know this has been mentioned before but I've had a look at my 12 week scan letter which is on the 14th June and it says not to bring any children however we don't have anyone that can take care of our 3 year old. Should I chance it and turn up with my daughter?

SMG1992 · 01/06/2023 13:25

@RG84 I think it would be worth giving them a call if you have a number on the letter or ask your midwife for the number?

Nope, they won't let you in. As mentioned earlier they are not the place for children, a 3yo is much too disruptive for the sonographer, you don't want 3yo there if you get bad news, nor would it be fair on the other women who may receive bad news and then have to see your little girl. Your DH can't support you if he's distracted looking after 3yo as well.

Does she go to nursery? Could another parent or worker take her for the appointment? Friends/neighbour? I'd happily look after a friends 3yo to allow her DH to attend. Otherwise I'm afraid you'll have to go alone.

DaisyMay25 · 01/06/2023 13:37

@RG84 unfortunately they not flexible about the one person in the scan and no children. Your DH will be asked to stay outside with her

RG84 · 01/06/2023 14:12

Thanks ladies for the advice and heads up. I'll try and call the midwife and check if they can.

Yesterday I had my booking appointment and there was a lady who was getting a scan with her toddler as I was walking out. I do wonder whether they let her in or not. I'll call to find out.

Unfortunately I haven't got any family to ask that will take care of her, not even my parents. That's another frustrating story. Daughter doesn't go to nursery yet, will only start in September so she's with me full time at home whilst I also work full time from home.

I'm in the West Midlands and this happened to me. I had to ring the hospital and they told me over the phone as the letter was lost, turns out they had booked me in after 14 weeks so she changed it for me for a earlier date which will be tomorrow x

Sairrrxx · 01/06/2023 14:38

Hey all, glad everyone is almost starting to feel better, my symptoms have eased abit too finally. I will be 12 weeks tomorrow and have my scan tomorrow too, so so nervous. Haven't had any private scans this time around so praying all is okay xx

ThomasinaLivesHere · 01/06/2023 15:27

@RG84 Maybe they have exceptions for single parents or they just go ahead with scans when there’s no other caregiver for the child but it does put the staff in an awkward position. As mentioned before there are valid reasons for why they have this rule but there’s no harm in calling to ask about it. Some places many be stricter than others.

midnights0 · 01/06/2023 16:35

I suddenly have huge anxiety about my 12 weeks scan and I’ve been reading all sorts about MMC😭 I’m 10 weeks now and I had a scan at 8 weeks and seen baby and heartbeat, now that my 12 weeks scan is 2 weeks away I’m starting to feel extremely nervous and scared that they’re gonna tell me something happened to baby 😭 my symptoms have more or less gone except needing to pee all the time. Im
worried because I had to have a tooth out and I’ve been taken paracetamol for a few days now. does anyone else get worried like this?

I am also in a similar boat getting slightly anxious I am 10 weeks first time pregnant and had couple of drops of spotting a few days ago but nothing since.
Other symptoms of tender breasts and mild fatigue still present but I just want my 12 week scan now and praying all ok.

Anyone had similar experience / can give reassurance?

I also read that spotting can be normal due to hormones or around 10weeks placenta attaches to uterus and takes over which could explain why nausea has gone over past week.

Mushroo · 01/06/2023 17:34

@midnights0 @GratefulMum10 im 10 weeks on Saturday and I have zero symptoms. I’m not even that tired anymore.

I think it’s due to placenta taking over but like you, it’s still worrying. My scan feels ages away especially since I don’t have a date yet. (Booking appointment tomorrow).

I had a great scan at 8 weeks so just keep reminding myself the chance of a missed miscarriage at that point is low.

But yes, I feel the same as you both!

99SR · 01/06/2023 18:09

@midnights0 @GratefulMum10 @Mushroo feel the same as you guys!
Actually messaged @Mushroo privately cause my anxiety was so bad!
My symptoms are almost completely gone too. felt a bit dizzy today which is a new one but other than that I feel fine.
I also had spotting around 10 weeks which lasted a few days, EPU not concerned at all.
Guess we just need to wait and see, we’re in this together tho! Hopefully not long until everyone’s 12 week scan?? Mine is next Tuesday.
