@Rainbowdust557 it's horrible! Really getting me down, it just came from nowhere. Did you find anything helped with the symptoms? I've been doing the saline spray up the nose which works sometimes, and I've inhaled some steam with Olbus oil in it which seems to have helped a bit too... just dreading bed time!

ThomasinaLivesHere · 28/05/2023 21:14

@RG84 For me if there was nothing to flag up I didn’t find out the results until my next midwife appointment. They would only cont
act you if there was an issue. But it’s likely different across country.

ThomasinaLivesHere · 28/05/2023 21:18

I had a private scan today which confirmed everything is ok and I am having a December baby. Due date 27 December. I wasn’t sure I’d get positive news so it’s a relief.

RG84 · 28/05/2023 21:38

@ThomasinaLivesHere thanks for the reassurance, yeah makes sense. I guess I'm just getting anxious wanting everything to be okay.

I'm glad your scan went well, always a relief :)

Pitstop1986 · 28/05/2023 22:24

I had all of my bloods taken after the 12 week scan. I've got an appointment in 2 weeks where I'll have a mini check up and get the results

wannabemum38 · 29/05/2023 00:04

@RG84 my results were back within a week but I'm guessing if I didn't need to go back to continue my booking appointment i probably would not have got them back for a while. No news is good news so they said!

DaisyMay25 · 29/05/2023 06:45

@midnights0 bloods are taken at booking appointment, 12 week scan if you've opted for NT then 28 week appointment 😊 that's routine ones

smldnlove · 29/05/2023 06:49

@wannabemum38 Sorry to hear that!! It’s hard isn’t it and am in same boat just praying my dress fits next week for the wedding still. Tried it on last week and was fine but feel like I’m getting heavier by the day!

at least you have three months which is more than enough to find something just as special x

smldnlove · 29/05/2023 06:51

@ThomasinaLivesHere congrats! Glad it’s all looking positive for you, also had a scan this weekend and due date is 27th Dec too! ✨

Magicbean5 · 29/05/2023 07:39

Hi 👋 its me! I'm lying here this morning freaking myself out just a little bit, wee tiny bit. I don't know if I'm being daft, cautious or logical. If anyone else asked I'd tell them it's probably OK! I'm 9weeks 5 days and I feel like my symptoms are lessening. I've been bloated and have had that 'full' feeling for weeks and was sporting a bump (5th child) the last couple of days that feeling has subsided and definitely look a lot flatter. I THINK nausea is disappearing rapidly too. My boobs are still tender but not as bad....but I think I'm imagining this part. I don't know! Does this happen? You'd think I'd know by now 😐 I've experienced a missed miscarriage before about 13 years ago, which was the worste experience of my life and found out at the 12week scan but as it was so many moons ago I don't remember what I Felt! have 2 miscarriages too at 6 weeks.
Am I being stupid? My scan is next Thursday, 8th of June. I'll add that we've already seen a lovely heartbeat at 7w 6.
Happy bank holiday xxx

Mushroo · 29/05/2023 07:46

@Magicbean5 I’m 9w + 3 and feel like my symptoms are lessening too. The placenta should be taking over so from what I’ve read online it’s completely normal!

I had a scan at 8w and it was all good. Just counting down to 12 weeks now!

I also read somewhere once you’ve seen a heartbeat at 8w, the miscarriage risk is about 2%, so fingers crossed all is well xx

Magicbean5 · 29/05/2023 08:01

@Mushroo isn't is so lovely seeing little bean growing. I know what you're saying makes sense and sounds logical! I know that I'd give the same advice and thankyou! I think I just need someone to tell me 😏 I'll keep an eye on ut and who knows, maybe they'll come back with a vengeance! Lol. I hope you're keeping well and feeling alot more positive these days xxx

Mushroo · 29/05/2023 08:03

@Magicbean5 thank you! Yes I’d say my anxiety was worse about 4/5 weeks and I’m feeling good now :)

Cant wait for the 12 week scan to start telling people properly!

I love this thread though to ask all the niggles and worries as they come up and someone else quickly comes along to reassure

RG84 · 29/05/2023 08:21

Thanks ladies regarding the blood tests.

@Magicbean5 again I'm not complaining but I've had 0 obvious symptoms and I'm 10+3 days today. The only symptom I have is frequent urination.
I also had a MC in 2021 so very anxious, 12 week scan is on the 14th June. I'm just trying to remain positive, easier said than done. And hope that everything is okay. I would love to have had an earlier scan for reassurance but my partner preferred I didn't until 12 weeks as that's his way of not jinxing it earlier after our MC. I will check if I can bring the scan earlier as on the 14th June, day of scan, I will be 12+5.

Noted not everyone has the same systems or any symptoms. Stay positive, I'll be fine 🙏🏽

ThomasinaLivesHere · 29/05/2023 09:16

@Magicbean5 With my last pregnancy and this one I just had proper symptoms from around week 6-7 so it’s completely normal for symptoms to go away.

@smldnlove Congrats to you too 🥳. I’m going to request a c-section so not sure it’ll be advised to go as far as 27th but will see. Might have to be before Christmas but really don’t want to be in hospital for Christmas Day .

DaisyMay25 · 29/05/2023 17:41

@Magicbean5 I'm 9 weeks 6 days and my nausea has started to ease too! Only really got sore boobs here too!

@ThomasinaLivesHere I'm having a planned section too, it'll be a week before but I'm going to ask if it can be earlier, my LB cake 10 days early and half an hour labour 😬

Rainbowdust557 · 29/05/2023 19:58

broges · 28/05/2023 20:23

I had it with my last pregnancy but it was a bit different as I had a miscarriage before I got some medication that helped. (This symptom carried on for a few months after) It was called Almneys or something like that. I was b feeding at the time and was told it was ok so might be ok to take in pregnancy too. See if the drs can recommend anything. It also helped to sleep slightly propped up. Hope it gets better soon. x

Rainbowdust557 · 29/05/2023 20:02

@Magicbean5 The panic of disappearing symptoms is horrible. I think quite a few ladies have experienced it myself included and had positive scans afterwards so 🤞🏻that this is the same for you especially as you've already had a positive scan. Mine returned a few days later with a vengeance! x

DaisyMay25 · 29/05/2023 20:18

@broges have you tried a sinus rinse? I swear by them. I used them when I had a cold in my pregnancy with my LB. I'm quite prone to sinusitis too so use it as soon as I get congested. I got one off Amazon amzn.eu/d/2qb94B5

They take some getting used to but so worth it (and slightly addicting)

DaisyMay25 · 30/05/2023 15:29

Bit the bullet, private scan at 5:40, taking our LB too!

FlyingHighFlyingLow · 30/05/2023 15:33

@DaisyMay25 you might want to check their rules. Before 16 weeks all the scan places around where I am don't permit children. Hope scan goes well :)

DaisyMay25 · 30/05/2023 15:35

@FlyingHighFlyingLow the clinics around here allow children as long as they're with an adult, I might call to double check though!

FlyingHighFlyingLow · 30/05/2023 15:38

@DaisyMay25 definitely double check. Here it's permitted 5 guests including children as long as there is a second adult after 16 weeks (gender scans, 4D etc), but only 1 accompanying adult and no children for early scans.

DaisyMay25 · 30/05/2023 15:41

@FlyingHighFlyingLow I just called and she said it's fine, not sure he'll know what's going on though!
He's had his preschool jabs this morning so he'll probably just want to tell them about that 🤦🏼‍♀️

Mushroo · 30/05/2023 17:16

Is anyone here in Manchester? Did you get your 12 week scan date at the booking appointment?

Im getting a bit impatient 😂
