@RG84 I think your scan at 12+5 will be fine, I'll be 12+4 at mine. It might be worth trying to bring your booking appointment forward if your concerned about the blood test results.

RG84 · 26/05/2023 11:11

@SMG1992 I tried calling for an earlier appointment but that was the earliest they could give me

NoodleQueen90 · 26/05/2023 11:11

@RG84 try not to worry (I know it's much easier said than done!) I was 9+6 at my booking appointment and my midwife said they usually do it between 10-11 weeks. At my scan I'll be 12+6 and I think most health boards say they should be between 11-14 weeks. I know a lot of others who's booking appointment has been much earlier but I think it just varies depending on where you live.
They should still have the results from your bloods from the booking app in plenty of time before your scan.

FirstMondayInMay · 26/05/2023 11:30

@RG84 I had my booking appt this week, at 12+0. I thought it’d be a good few weeks until I got an appointment for my dating scan so went for a private yesterday, only to come home to a letter with a scan booked for next week🤣

RG84 · 26/05/2023 11:35

@NoodleQueen90 thanks for the reassurance. With my first pregnancy in 2020, I had my booking appointment between 8-9 weeks.

31st May seems to be coming around very slow 🐌

RG84 · 26/05/2023 11:36

I'm also glad it's Friday and will be able to enjoy the Bank Holiday Monday! No plans but hey no work!

wannabemum38 · 26/05/2023 11:50

@RG84 I had my booking in appointment at 9+3 which feels ages ago but was 2 weeks ago. My scan is next week I will be 12+5 so as long as your seen before 13 weeks all should be OK.

NoodleQueen90 · 26/05/2023 11:53

@RG84 I hear you, mine was 9 days ago and it feels like months...my scan isn't until 7th June. Time is moving backwards 😂
Oh enjoy the day off, I don't get this one as we get a BH at the start of May. There was also the cheeky extra one for the coronation. I'll need to get some annual leave booked in soon to have something to keep me going!

RG84 · 26/05/2023 12:35

Thanks ladies for the reassurance, feeling better about it now.

I was in South Africa on a work trip on the Coronation Bank Holiday but thankfully I am able to claim that day back. I have annual leave for a week in June so looking forward to that.

In general, the heat makes we woozy, tired, I get bad headaches etc...add pregnancy to that and 😭
I've just got back from my daughters swimming class and as much as it's a beautiful day, for me I can't cope and it's only going to get hotter.

Anyone else that doesn't do good in hot weather?

DaisyMay25 · 26/05/2023 12:42

Had my blood results back from booking and ferritin is low so now need to chase a prescription up with my doctor. It's probably one of the reasons I feel so horrid!

DaisyMay25 · 26/05/2023 12:44

@RG84 I don't do well in hot weather at all, in fact we went to Dominican Republic fur our honeymoon and I ended up in hospital with severe dehydration... luckily my living room is always could so can hide out in there for the sunny weekends

RG84 · 26/05/2023 12:49

@DaisyMay25 oh noo that's awful being in hospital, sorry to hear that.
Haha that's good glad you have a hide out ;)

Iron levels? Hopefully with the iron vitamins the gp prescribes you'll be back to a normal level. Hope everything else went well.

wannabemum38 · 26/05/2023 15:26

Not sure if this is bloat or a slight bump been having a weepy day today feeling overwhelmed with everything. As much as I don't want a huge bump for the wedding it's quite comforting if it is!

Wineisgreat · 26/05/2023 18:01

We had our 12 week scan yesterday and all was well and we had our NIPT results back today. All fine and we know it's a little girl now. ☺️

DaisyMay25 · 26/05/2023 18:16

@Wineisgreat a little girl! How exciting!!

Wineisgreat · 26/05/2023 18:16

Yes, we already have one and thrilled to bits.x

Justanothercyster · 26/05/2023 18:50

Awww @wannabemum38 little bump starting to say hi 👋🏼
I'm definitely bumping, I'm bigger then I was at 14 weeks with my little girl 🙈

I've got a wriggler, constantly moving around in there. And for those who need reassurance, at 10.5 weeks I'm finally starting to feel less sick!

@wannabemum38 yea bloat/bump forming for me too, I expected it earlier anyway tbh being baby number 5 😂 x

Soundbathfan · 26/05/2023 21:26

Evening all, I haven't really posted here as yet. I'm 37 and getting pregnant was a bit of a surprise because I have a massive endometrioma on one ovary and adenomyosis... we were just having investigations for this to explore fertility etc and then within a month.... bam pregnant ... not really part of the plan! It's our first.

Consultant appt is Friday so I'm guessing scan and nipt will be done there? Apparently that'll be 12 weeks but baby was measuring bigger than expected at a private scan I had which could put me at 13 ish (but who knows....)... am I right on this? No idea what to expect!

I'm really hoping to go on holiday in September abroad but would that be ridiculous?

45mummy · 26/05/2023 23:30

I've got a holiday booked in Portugal in September, I'm definitely going!

ThomasinaLivesHere · 27/05/2023 07:16

@Soundbathfan it’d be ridiculous not to go imo especially as you don’t have any other kids at the moment. Go, relax and enjoy 😊. I got pregnant during covid so couldn’t go any holidays but it would have been nice to go one last holiday before children came. Oh and congratulations 🥳

Soundbathfan · 27/05/2023 07:27

Cheers to you both... I'm wondering where I'll fancy going and whether I'll just be wanting to sit down!! Usually we do a lot of sightseeing but 6 months pregnant? Not sure!?

Mushroo · 27/05/2023 08:38

I’m also hoping to go away in September! I’ve already been on holiday when I was 5 weeks (obviously booked before I knew!), I’m on a group holiday in July and I’d like one last holiday just me and DH.

Thinking adults only all inclusive to just sit and do absolutely nothing!

SMG1992 · 27/05/2023 08:52

Same here for holiday, I have a week booked in July but just need to figure out where to go
I’m thinking a Greek island, somewhere nice and chilled for our last holiday just us 2!
im not worried about heat as I’ll stay in the shade but am a little concerned about food. I’ll have to learn to ask if cheese/dairy is pasteurised in Greek!

RG84 · 27/05/2023 10:21

We are going to Disney for my daughters 3rd birthday, only 3 nights in Paris next month. I would also love a week by the beach and actually September seems like a perfect time as its after the summer holidays and holidays will be cheaper. Be good for us ladies to relax before baby's arrival.
