@Oldermum84 thank you for sharing! Yes, at the moment the idea of loving a bump feels a bit alien and taking to it just seems really cringe?!

I honestly can’t wait for pregnancy to be over! I have such a fear of the unknown atm.

Oldermum84 · 25/05/2023 19:11

@DaisyMay25 yeah everyone always talks about this big rush of love you get and then the subsequent "baby bubble" and I just didn't have any of that. It made me feel terrible.

@Mushroo I hate the unknown too. I remember with my son I was worried that when he started kicking it would freak me out and I wouldn't be able to cope with it, luckily when it happened I was fine. For me the thought of things is usually worse than the reality but that hard to remember sometimes!

Rainbowdust557 · 25/05/2023 19:30

Thank you @17caterpillars1mouse & @wannabemum38 That's reassuring. I'm sure you're right just made me panic as it wasn't going away and reminded me of the pains I had with MC. Rested a bit and pains have subsided so feel a bit better about that!

I think I'm finding it harder this time round re feeling bonded yet (seems very early anyhow) but the fear that something might go wrong. Hopefully it'll change once I'm further along/feeling movements etc. I've been incredibly tired - absolutely zero energy! Roll on 2nd trimester! 🤞🏻🤞🏻

SMG1992 · 25/05/2023 20:53

Just bought some maternity bits on Vinted (leggings & 2 dresses)
i really hope I haven’t done it too early!
still almost 2 weeks until 12 week scan!

Mushroo · 25/05/2023 21:01

@SMG1992 i bought some giant bump support shorts. Depressingly, they fit fine without the bump so I can get away with them anyway 😂

It’s nice buying some bits!

smldnlove · 25/05/2023 22:17

@SMG1992 Yes feel like I’m close to that stage too! I’ve bought some nice floaty linen trousers and some floaty sets a few sizes bigger recently which I’m living in. My stomach is so bloated and huge it’s kind of necessary atm…

Got a private scan booked for tomorrow at 9w4d. Very excited to see some progress, fingers crossed - hoping all is going well ✨

Charlielechat · 25/05/2023 22:38

I'm glad other people are feeling a bit bigger too 😂 I've had to size up in a few trousers/shorts already and it's killing me. I feel like it's too early and it's only going to get worse 🙈

Formaddict · 25/05/2023 23:18

I am very glad to know I am not the only one whose clothes don’t fit. I got told I wouldn’t show until about 16-20 weeks. Feel like I am very obviously pregnant now at 11

FlyingHighFlyingLow · 26/05/2023 00:01

Same here 🙈 i changed into a different outfit tonight and my DH went 'oh you do have a bump already', after me saying i felt huge for a few days and him saying he can't see anything 😂 13+2

DaisyMay25 · 26/05/2023 06:15

@HannahLouD how did your scan go??

HannahLouD · 26/05/2023 06:22

@DaisyMay25 sorry for not updating and thanks for asking! 😊
Scan yesterday was amazing! 😍 Was Measuring 12 weeks exactly! So my official due date is 7th December 🥰 still a bit confused as I tracked ovulation and BBT and it doesn't seem possible to be to be that far... Also means I would have got a positive pregnancy test at 7dpo and 3+ on a digi at 15dpo 🤔 but hey I'll take being a few days further along than I thought 😅 she measured baby 6 times and got 12 weeks on the dot each time so I'm sure it's not wrong 🤷🏻‍♀️🫣

She did say I still have a retroverted uterus though... I thought this would have rectified itself by now? It's strange because I have an obvious bump too and I read that you usually show later with a retroverted uterus... Hope it doesn't mean it takes longer to feel baby move!? 🤞✨

Already got my 20 week scan booked in... Roll on 19th July 😅🤍

Hope everyone's doing well this morning! x

HannahLouD · 26/05/2023 06:26

Also to everyone saying their clothes are too tight... I bought maternity stuff a couple of weekends ago and have been wearing them ever since! I went through my wardrobe yesterday and tried on my "normal" shorts and jeans and they are absolutely not doing up anymore! 😅 Second baby (but first is 5!!) this was taken a couple of days ago at 11+6 (with a retroverted uterus as I mentioned above!! Odd...) x

DaisyMay25 · 26/05/2023 06:26

@HannahLouD I'm so glad! Very exciting and almost in the second trimester!

I have an anteverted uterus, not exactly the same but it gave me no issues in pregnancy or birth. It shouldn't effect you feeling movements as far as I know

July will come round quickly! You going to find out the sex? I'm unsure wether I will

HannahLouD · 26/05/2023 06:29

@DaisyMay25 eeeek I know!! Can't wait to be in the second trimester! I shouldn't complain as apart from literal exhaustion I've had a pretty much symptomless pregnancy so far... But I'm still sooo tired all the time!
How are you feeling??

Ah thank you! That's good to know! 😊

No, we're not going to find out... I want to buy my partner doesn't, so a surprise it is! Gonna be a loooongggg wait!! Haha x

DaisyMay25 · 26/05/2023 06:32

@HannahLouD I'm feeling horrendous still, I had tachycardia with my son and it's already started with this one, I went off sick with him at 4 months but I can't afford to this time.
The nausea is overwhelming too, I'm hoping it'll ease up in the next few weeks because working with it is so difficult

We're the opposite, it's my husband that wants to know but I don't, I may change my mind though!

Still unsure if I'll get a private scan next week, be nice to take my little boy to it so he can understand why I'm so poorly though

smldnlove · 26/05/2023 07:09

@HannahLouD Oh lovely! You really are showing, that’s amazing. I wish I was showing and it wasn’t so much bloating. But then I also need to get into a wedding dress in 2 weeks so perhaps not 😁 glad you’re scan went really well and you’re now at the 12 week mark, so exciting!

@DaisyMay25 Sorry to hear about that in your last pregnancy, glad it’s not shown up this time. How did the tachycardia impact your pregnancy?

that would be sweet to take your boy, how far along are you now?

DaisyMay25 · 26/05/2023 07:12

@smldnlove my heart rate went up to 150 yesterday whilst out shopping so had to sit down for a bit, with my son it would go to 250. But that was later on in pregnancy so it may get that bad yet. It would make me pass out, I couldn't really leave the house in that pregnancy.
I'd be 10 and a half weeks so plenty to see 😊

SMG1992 · 26/05/2023 07:46

@HannahLouD Congratulations on your scan - so glad it went really well!

I'm also relieved to hear most people are in the same boat with clothes, it makes me feel less silly buying some maternity bits.
I defintiley wouldn't say I look like I'm showing yet but my husband kindly said this morning I "look like I'm getting a bit of a belly" !

Sairrrxx · 26/05/2023 08:47

Has anyone else still not had a 12 week scan letter?

I'm 11 weeks today and still nothing, I've had an appointment come through to see the consultant on the 16th June when I'm 14 weeks but nothing about the scan yet. Unsure whether to ring today if the postman doesn't bring it this morning x

Definitely ring. I still hadn't had anything 2 weeks after my booking - they'd lost my scan referral and half my booking bloods! Had to get both done urgently.

Formaddict · 26/05/2023 09:12

I got my scan letter through yesterday offering me an appointment when I’m 13 weeks. I would definitely chase them thought as I have found my care to be quite shocking (the admin side anyway)

I am a bit stressed as due to an error with the midwife admin I’ve only just had my booking appointment ( I’m 11 weeks) and the bloods have come back with a low red blood count. I’m scared as I have been taking folic acid but it might not have been doing anything and I might have needed a higher dose? If my appointment have been at 8 weeks there would have been some time to rectify this but I am worried I am too late now and the damage is done?

has anyone had a similar experience? I’ve contacted my GP on the hope they have give me advice and a prescription

They've screwed up just about everything for me too! Folic acid only helps with folate anaemia so there could be lots of other reasons for being anaemic. Even if you have lots of folate, if you don't have the iron you're going to be anaemic. Do they know exactly what it is you're deficient in? Most women end up anaemic in pregnancy and postpartum. Baby is good at taking what it needs and should be absolutely fine even if you feel like death!

Kaspery8 · 26/05/2023 09:49

@Clucket87 thank you for your reassuring words, it really helped yesterday when i was feeling low.

@SunSparkle I've been taking cyclizine which I thought was working a few weeks back but not so much now. Thanks to your post I've booked an appt with gp today to see if there's something else that can help.

Sairrrxx · 26/05/2023 09:50

Thank you, I've gave them a ring and they had me booked in for the 12th June but she said that's too late as I would be almost 14 weeks so she's trying to bring it forward and ring me back. Not sure how they've got the dates mixed up 🤦🏻‍♀️

RG84 · 26/05/2023 10:32

Morning everyone..Reading your messages, I'm a little worried too.

I feel like I've been going on about my booking appointment for ages and it's still yet to come on the 31st May. I'm 10 weeks today and I'll be 10+5 on the day of my booking appointment which I feel is personally is late. What do you think?

They have booked me for a 12 week scan on the 14th June when I will be 12+5.

Yesterday I had routine blood tests done as I'm a Ceoliac and boarder line diabetic. I wonder if I should of asked them to do the booking appointment blood tests as well.
