For me it's a juicy medium rare steak. Then sushi.
Citrus makes me sick but I'd love a huge glass of orange juice too.

You can eat steak as long as its a proper steak place so you know it is a genuine cut of meat.

Mine was fizzy drinks as i had bad indegestion in final trimester.

Spottypineapple · 13/05/2023 14:13

Steak tartare and few glasses of my favourite champagne (makes me sound so posh 😂)

(I've been eating sushi anyway. There's no risk to baby, it's just getting a stomach bug which is the same risk pregnant or not)

Matilda1981 · 13/05/2023 14:15

I’ve had 4 kids and ate rare steak throughout all of my pregnancy’s!

Theduchy · 13/05/2023 14:22

My boy is here now but mine was Brie. Nothing better than brie and crackers in the sunshine.

Bunny2021 · 13/05/2023 14:32

@Spottypineapple snap!

I was at a wedding when I was really early pregnant and they had steak tartare as one of the starters. I had a tiny mouthful and it was so good - I miss it so much.

That and some really runny, stinky cheese.

BritishDesiGirl · 13/05/2023 14:33

Chillies!! My digestive system has ground basically to a halt so even the tiniest amount of spice or chillies is bad for me. I love chillies.

Alloveragain3 · 13/05/2023 14:35

Tea and biscuits!
I've totally gone off tea and coffee but somehow still miss it.

babyk2023 · 13/05/2023 14:37

Something with blue cheese sauce/dressing. Love the blue cheese dressing they do at Harvester in the salad bar. Mhm!

Whereisthesummer · 13/05/2023 14:54

Cured meats / cheeses like Brie / sushi washed down with an aperol spritz then a glass of fizz!

FatAgainItsLettuceTime · 13/05/2023 14:57

I got gestational diabetes so had a really long list of stuff I wanted, the first of which was toast and jam.

When I was discharged the morning after DD was born I got a taxi home and MIL was waiting for me with a huge chocolate brownie and vanilla latte from the local coffee shop.

Eminybob · 13/05/2023 14:58

I had gestational diabetes when pregnant with dc2 so couldn't eat carbs or sugar for the last half of my pregnancy.

The night he was born I ate a whole (large) box of Lily O'brien chocolates (the dessert flavoured ones) it was bliss.

And when I got home DH had bought me brie and pate to have on crusty bread.

SunshineIndoors123 · 13/05/2023 15:14

My baby is nearly 10 months now but it was soft cheese I missed the most when I was pregnant. That and red wine, haha. I had really bad reflux so I stopped having garlic because the one and only time I threw up when I was pregnant was because I had such bad indigestion from prawns in garlic butter. So I was happy to be able to stomach garlic again too!

Laura23FE · 13/05/2023 15:15

Blue steak burrata cheese and a bottle of fizz 😂

eternalopt · 13/05/2023 15:17

All the orange juice in the shops is pasteurised, even the "fresh squeezed" stuff - you can go nuts on that!

blahblahblah1654 · 13/05/2023 15:21

I've been eating sushi, smoked salmon and blue cheese in this pregnancy. I think the risk is minimal so I've gone with it.

Midnightpony · 13/05/2023 15:24

All these foods are not harmful to the baby. They just carry a slightly higher risk of giving you food poisoning . Food hygiene standards are very good in the UK. A lot of the "advice" refers to the US.

(Gestational diabetes is a different kettle of fish)

SkyBlue20 · 13/05/2023 16:10

PATE!!
Plus, rare steak, blue cheese, Serrano ham and red wine.
Gimme 🤤

Bunny2021 · 13/05/2023 18:30

for all those missing blue cheese - you can have Stilton! NHS have updated their guidance on this. I was so excited to discover this! Not the sane without a glass of red though…

Can eat cured meats if you freeze them for 4 days. I did in last pregnancy and baba was fine

I've been eating blue cheese sauce because it's a craving of mine, mixed with the Red Devil sauce in Harvester.

Midwife asked me at my 28 week appointment if I had any cravings, I told her I want to keep eating at the harvester so I can have the blue cheese sauce and she didn't bat an eyelid. I'm guessing the sauces are made with pasteurised products anyway?

I can't wait for some pate and brie on crackers.

I am still bring sick at 34 weeks and orange is a trigger so no juice for me. Or fish. In fact loads sets me off. I also jave gestational diabetes so it's really annoying!

I haven't had to cut carbon with my gestational diabetes. Sugar has been reduced massively which is a shame because I miss my favourite biscuits!

Oh really? I could manage small amounts of brown rice/pasta/high protein bread, but any white carbs saw my blood sugar levels spike massively. It was good for controlling my weight though, I didn't put on any weight apart from the baby!

I'm exactly the same! I desperately want a lovely cup of tea. So I make one and just blèurgh. Not into it. I miss a lovely cup of tea so much!

For me definitely soft and blue cheese. It's not the same cooked and the rind of soft cheese is my favourite part. I also want a big sushi platter!

TakeMe2Insanity · 14/05/2023 07:48

I’ve gone off a lot of things so I’d like runny eggs (can just about cope with a hard boiled egg), coffee I miss so much, sushi the sight of raw fish makes me vomit.
