I can see one for this so in my excitement thought I’d start one. Due date is 1st Jan for me 😊

I’m 37 and pregnant with no. 2. We tried for 4 months so lucky not too long.

Congratulations 🄳 @Dannic2018 and @cossie13 and anyone else I missed.

@cossie13 I’ll also be having a section as had an emergency one last time. ICP sounds so uncomfortable hopefully since you’re aware of it they can treat it early.

anyone hoping for a VBAC? I had an EMCS last time as my DD tilted her head off to the side and heart rate started dropping after a long labour. She was also back to back. I’m hoping this time as long as baby cooperates I can try for a VBAC.

Mummyme87 · 17/05/2023 07:37

@buckingmad yes me. I had an EMCS first time, baby was super sick ended up in NNu for 2weeks with Ecoli meningitis and was massive at 10lb 5. Was induced second time and had a VBAC with a normal birth, wasn’t straight forward as Had a 3rd degree tear and lost 2.5L but definitely going for VBAC again. I’m hoping to do a hypnobirthing course this time aswell

buckingmad · 17/05/2023 07:43

@Mummyme87 yes I’ve been looking at hypnobirthing too!

Hopefully you get 3rd time lucky and have a more straightforward birth this time

Mummyme87 · 17/05/2023 08:13

@buckingmad I’ve listened to the Maggie Howell one online both times but never really get into it. Would like a proper face to face course one this time.

also hope for a more straight forward birth this time. Spontaneous labour would be a start!! Always induced which is quick and straight forward for me, but makes me so exhausted before you’ve even started. Your hospital might do VBAC clinics so you can go and get more in depth info and meet other women on similar situations

Thank you ā˜ŗļø

Yeah it's frustrating but all it means is weekly bloods and monitoring and an earlier birth. Which after 2 EMCS will 100% be another section for me. I do feel a bit guilty that I won't be able to give OH a natural birth experience for his first baby though šŸ˜ž

Mummyme87 · 17/05/2023 09:18

How long ago was your last baby @cossie13 ? The ICP guidelines changed a couple of years back so women were advised of delivery based on bile acid levels. So as long as under 100 could wait until 39weeks as opposed to the big standard 37weeks for all ICP

Hi to everyone who just joined!

I've had a scary 48hrs, started suddenly bleeding heavily - bright red blood - and cramping. After a night in a&e and a scan the next day they've managed to see a fetal heartbeat 😭 Bleeding seems to be caused by a moderate sized subchorionic haematoma. Had another load of cramping and bleeding last night.

I was utterly convinced I was miscarrying, I couldn't believe it could survive all that. But apparently it has (for now). I sobbed when I saw it's little heart beating on the scan.

Feeling very drained and worried, even though seeing that was encouraging. Hope everyone else is faring ok x

I’m so sorry . I had this on pregnancy number 3 and all was ok . I hope you get scanned again to have some reassurance . Hugs

Hello everyone- I'm 32 and due Jan 2nd with hopefully my second (this is the 3rd pregnancy for me). Just passed the 7 week mark so feeling hopeful

Nothingisblackandwhite · 17/05/2023 09:49

I’m definitely having a planned c section as it will be my 5 th c section ( and last) . I’m scared as it’s a5 th although my 4 th was very fast and without complications

ThomasinaLivesHere · 17/05/2023 10:34

@MimosasInFrance That sounds scary. Hope you’re taking care of yourself

@MimosasInFrance how scary! Hope you're managing to rest and relax as much as possible.

Vikki7 · 17/05/2023 11:52

Is anyone else on progesterone supplements? (utrogesten) I'm on 200mg twice a day and I'm absolutely knocked out by it, it makes me feel so dizzy, nauseated and I could sleep the whole day away. I can't judge my steps when walking or the distance/depth of stairs and so whoozy. I take the night ones right before bed but the day ones really are affecting me badly! Anyone know if this gets easier as you get used to the medication?

WitcheryDivine · 17/05/2023 12:21

I've got a question, as I said last year I had a MMC discovered at the 12 week scan. I've also had a suspected chemical pregnancy this year. I'm not seeing/talking to a midwife til 10 weeks as it stands, but I'm really worried that there's something I should be doing/not doing before then to reduce the chance of another MC.

Is that just panicky thinking? Or should I try to speak to someone (who)?

Mummyme87 · 17/05/2023 12:30

@WitcheryDivine you could speak to your GP, but not sure they would do much. Your midwife definitely won’t have advice on how to reduce chance of miscarriage bar usual NHS website advice of avoiding certain foods/caffeine. I’m assuming you aren’t under recurrent miscarriage clinic? My recommendation would be, eat well, exercise and relax… all of which are not easy!!!!

@MimosasInFrance that’s really scary. Glad all is well.

I’ve had my scan today. All good. No ectopic, nicely planted in the uterus, and away from my CSection scar thank goodness. I was so focused on a tubal ectopic I hadn’t thought about being near my scar. Will have another scan in 2 weeks. I was on the verge of a panic attack in the waiting room, felt very PTSD from waiting for my scan when I had a ruptured ectopic.

WitcheryDivine · 17/05/2023 12:33

Thanks @Mummyme87 and so pleased you had good news today x

Valerie94 · 17/05/2023 12:35

Hi
apologies I don’t know how to start my own post. Congratulations to everyone with their BFP.

I got my BFP this month at 8DPO according to flo my period is due 21/05. I definitely am pregnant as I’ve used so many different branded tests all confirming pregnancy. I just wondered if anyone who hasn’t yet missed their period still feels like it’s coming?? And once the missed period stage passes does the feeling of a period starting pass too? This is my first pregnancy and I’m not sure what to expect.

TIA x

Ooo that's handy to know thank you! My youngest is now 5 so it was a while ago! Although my levels were nearing the 90's so I don't know if it gets worse with each pregnancy or not. Time will tell and hopefully it's not actually too horrendous 😊

Firstly congratulations! 😊

From what I remember, I felt like I was due a period right up until my 12 week scans. But I think that was fear something was going to go wrong more than anything. Obviously everyone is different, and hopefully that feeling goes away for you soon and you can just enjoy your pregnancy!

Oh wow, so pleased to hear your scan went well!

Just curious though, what would happen if it is on a section scar?

TunnocksTCake · 17/05/2023 12:56

@MimosasInFrance oh gosh how scary but so so glad all is ok and you got to see the heartbeat šŸ’•

@WitcheryDivine before I had DD I had a MMC discovered at 12 week scan and then another 2 early ones and my drs didn't do anything... said that each one was likely a chromosomal one off and so there's nothing they can or should do to keep it going if that is the case. It is so hard mentally though, I personally found lots of private scans helped. Do what you need to keep yourself calm, and remember it's a new egg, new sperm, and there is every chance it will produce a healthy baby. šŸ¤žšŸ»

@cossie13 placenta accreta or percreta. I see alot of it so it’s a very real risk for me, I work in a referral unit for this exact thing.

Oh wow, I wasn't even informed of this after either of my previous sections! Is it a common thing in women who have had c-sections previously?

I'd not heard of it before!

stressshead · 17/05/2023 13:36

@Mummyme87
I've never read or heard anything about implanting near scar I'm assuming if it does that's an issue then? X
