Today marks 12 weeks and I stupidly have moved some heavy furniture and had a few moments of horrible pain dragging around my c-section scar. Hoping it’s nothing serious as I’ve had twinges there before. Lesson learned!

Thats a great scan @Mldn! I’ve still got a week and a bit to wait for my 12 week scan… it’s dragging so much!

Mldn · 19/04/2023 13:55

@LilmissCa thank you!! Much easier said than done, but try not to worry too much, my symptoms went overnight and likewise - I’m eating so much now!! And all is well. Try & take some comfort that it is just as normal to have no symptoms than have them all consuming x

@Spareincoming oh bless you! Try & take it easy & hopefully rest up! How far gone will you be at you 12 weeks? Mine is next week, I’ll be 12+5. Today was at the EPU due to me having a tiny amount of blood.. if anybody is in north London the EPU down here is really good. You can self refer & get seen pretty quickly with any kind of worry x

Spareincoming · 19/04/2023 14:10

@Mldn I’ll be 13+2; originally my scan was this coming Friday but the unit rang and cancelled that one the day I got the letter due to staffing!
I’m now due to see my consultant on the same day as my scan so hoping the weeks delay won’t affect my meeting with him, fingers crossed it’s the same consultant I had last pregnancy as he seemed fairly unconcerned by the antics of the unit - it wasn’t very organised and the physically lost my notes file twice on the morning of one of my meetings with him last time!

medicmumma · 19/04/2023 14:13

Aww what a lovely photo. Congrats!

TMI2000 · 19/04/2023 14:25

@Mldn what a lovely scan! Massive congratulations lovely ❤️

For those worried about symptoms, I saw my midwife for bloods yesterday and she said symptoms tend to peak at 8 weeks and calm down so if you’re losing symptoms they don’t worry unless there’s cramping and fresh red blood. I hope this helps bring some ease to some of you!

FlyingHighFlyingLow · 19/04/2023 14:35

So glad your scan went well @Mldn . After a week of horrific nausea, my body psyched me out by a better few days. Still nauseous but I could actually get some food down (probably half portion sizes from pre-pregnancy). Hit 8 weeks yesterday and boy is it back. Can barely get anything down. Took me an hour and a half to get down half a slice of toast. Might have to try see if the cyclizine helps me 😭

Tryingtoconceivenumber2 · 19/04/2023 14:44

@Mldn really happy for you x

Mldn · 19/04/2023 14:55

Omg I spoke way too soon - I just physically vomited for the first time!! I think maybe more to do with how anxious I’ve been today xx

Travellingislife · 19/04/2023 15:50

@Mldn aw congratulations! Lovely picture as well! Mine wasn’t as clear.
My scan went well too, measured 12 weeks and the doctor said it looked like it should 🙏🏼 I’ll get the results from the chromosomal tests in about a week, that’s my next milestone 😅

Mldn · 19/04/2023 15:55

Ahhh been waiting for your update! Fabulous news @Travellingislife have you dated ahead? I haven’t done a nipt or harmony.. but I’ll hopefully get my combined results in the next few weeks too, I think I’ll be on holiday when they arrive! And I’ll be 16 weeks once back from hol, so will tell people after that point all being well! So relieved for us both today x

Mldn · 19/04/2023 16:00

… thats assuming that they’ll be able to get the NT reading & my bloods at my 12 week next Thursday 🤞🏼 hope so cos I go away the following Tuesday. If not, I’ll have to book somewhere private on the Friday for the NT x

medicmumma · 19/04/2023 16:05

When did people roughly hear when their 12 week scan would be? I'm 10 weeks and have not heard anything and getting a bit worried and my midwife is on leave currently :(

Sb86 · 19/04/2023 16:17

Great news about your scans today @Mldn and @Travellingislife , lovely photo too😍

@medicmumma I went to my midwife booking in last Tuesday at 9+3 and she rang up for it then, my scan is 4th of May and I'll be 12+5. I can't believe how slack some areas are at getting routine appointments sorted! It's like they get a kick out of adding to the already present anxiety!

Alloveragain3 · 19/04/2023 16:25

I got a notification on my app for my 12 week scan when I was 10 weeks (about 4 days after my booking in appointment).
I'll be 11+5 when it's done.

Hope everyone's scan went well today!

I had a dentist appointment today and they took some xrays, assuring me it was totally safe during the first trimester but I've now read online it's better to wait until after 16 weeks. Cue fanatic Googling. Ugh, why is everything such a worry when you're pregnant?!

BabyBabyBaby123 · 19/04/2023 16:47

@medicmumma I’m still waiting to hear about my booking appointment and I’m 9+6.
So no idea when I’ll ever be sent a date for my 12 week scan!

Bear94 · 19/04/2023 17:02

@Mldn what a wonderful scan photo, so happy for you!

Travellingislife · 19/04/2023 17:17

@Mldn yes such a big relief! Hopefully we will be less anxious now 🙏🏼
I’m pretty sure of my ovulation and implantation dates so I think I’m 11+2 but we will see next week. I’ve got my NHS scan on the Thursday as well 😊
I wanted to wait until after the anomaly scan telling people but I don’t think I can keep it a secret for that long!

Travellingislife · 19/04/2023 17:20

@medicmumma I had my booking appt when I was 10+4 on Friday and got sent my scan date on the following Monday!

Runnergirl1 · 19/04/2023 17:20

@Mldn and @Travellingislife co frats on your scans. I have mine on Friday and anxiety is high x

Runnergirl1 · 19/04/2023 17:20

*congrats

Mldn · 19/04/2023 17:22

Thanks everybody! So glad this community is here.

haha - same, @Travellingislife but as I’m out of the country for a few weeks I think it’ll be easier for me to hold the secret a little longer! Is next Thursday your 12 week? Sorry if you e already said.

I actually quite like nobody knowing x

Travellingislife · 19/04/2023 17:48

@Mldn yeah my NHS scan is on the 27th! I’m working abroad so will be away until I’m 15 weeks so that will definitely help like you said, after that I’ll probably tell people, or at least not hide it. I look “rounder” and I’m sure my gym crew suspects something as I’m not training like I used to..

@Runnergirl1 thank you, I totally understand, I’ve been so nervous. Hope you’ll get good news on Friday!

Mldn · 19/04/2023 17:52

@Travellingislife ahh our nhs scan is same date - hopefully much less anxiety for us then after a good experience today!! Yeh I can see my lower tum is defo firming & rounding up & I'm not comfy in jeans or a vest etc! So hiding myself for now. Also, I’m supposed to run the marathon this weekend - so had loads of messages from friends about that this week, have just said I’ve been under the weather & deferred. They’ll defo smell a rat x

medicmumma · 19/04/2023 17:54

@Travellingislife @Sb86 I was lucky and had my booking appointment at 8 weeks so maybe that's why I've not heard anything - it's so frustrating having to wait but I guess the system is so overrun atm! I just wanna see the baby again and know its actually real!

medicmumma · 19/04/2023 17:55

BabyBabyBaby123 · 19/04/2023 16:47

@medicmumma I’m still waiting to hear about my booking appointment and I’m 9+6.
So no idea when I’ll ever be sent a date for my 12 week scan!

That's so frustrating - fingers crossed you hear soon xx
