In relation to food aversion, I've found I just have to eat exactly what I fancy, but then the next day I can't bear to eat what I ate the day before. I feel like I'm running out of choices 😂. Hardest meal is by far breakfast...not really fancying anything but it's the time at the moment I feel the worst. It seems to just hit everyone totally different xx

Tryingtoconceivenumber2 · 15/05/2023 13:12

I had spotting with my first pregnancy at 6 weeks and then a heavy bleed at 20 weeks and all was ok. Have you called your midwife? X

Alloveragain3 · 15/05/2023 13:51

Yeah, I called the epu (midwife not answering!) and they said as it's just a little brown blood and 13 week scan was OK, to keep an eye but not to worry unless it gets red or heavy.

I can't help worrying but I also don't want to be overly anxious as I know brown spotting isn't uncommon.

Alloveragain3 · 15/05/2023 13:54

@FfFfoxRedN I'm exactly the same with breakfast. Managed a pop tart today :/

TMI2000 · 15/05/2023 14:36

@FlyingHighFlyingLow Not quite food aversions per se but I get full so much quicker and definitely can't eat as much as I used to, I get full super easily.

Also had some really sharp belly button pain today at 13 weeks which is worrying me a little bit - has anyone had anything similar?

FlyingHighFlyingLow · 15/05/2023 18:37

@spanglesj my issue is nothing works 😅 think I'm most similar to @FfoxRedN if I've eaten it in the past 6 weeks I don't want it again! I'm sat on the sofa and my DH is just looking at me because I keep moaning I'm hungry but every time he mentions a food I just don't want it!

@TMI2000 I also get full easily, I think my stomach has shrunk! I'm now about 6kg down from where I was at 6 weeks. I started pregnancy a size 12 at 5ft 8 so weight to lose but still a big chunk.

I hope all is OK @Alloveragain3 , fingers crossed its just some irritation.

LilmissCa · 15/05/2023 21:18

Told my 7yr old tonight. He is super excited !! Definitely a little boost I needed as been totally wiped with covid.
He's hoping a boy & not very impressed it's been in my tummy for 13wks without him knowing lol

38andtrying · 15/05/2023 22:38

14 weeks today, told one friend and family now knows, makes me nervous now that people know, I still haven't told work.

I really want to try and relax now and enjoy the journey but feeling afraid to do that also incase I jinx myself.

I don't want to have a stressed pregnancy where I look back and regret not enjoying it more, thinking of starting yoga to try and alleviate stress. Hoping now I'm 14 weeks I'm in more of a safe zone but I know that doesn't exist

LilmissCa · 16/05/2023 00:15

@38andtrying Yoga would be a great to try. You could also try googling pregnancy meditation, I used this in my last pregnancy, helps relax you when in bed & needing to sleep.
The worry is just constant.. scans only give piece of mind for a few days.

MooseWL · 16/05/2023 06:29

@Psqueak87 it's my second and I'm 15 weeks and very clearly pregnant. To the point that there are a few people at work i haven't told and I'm sure they're looking at my belly every time I see them. 🤣 have a great time telling your parents!
@medicmumma the cost of living crisis is stressful, but in all honesty babies don't need a lot. Its when they go to childcare it gets expensive!
I dress my son (and myself for that matter) in all second hand clothes from vinted/market place. I buy in bundles and it works out so cheap and he always gets comments on how well dressed he is (me not so much 😅) also if you have friends/family with kids I find we're always passing baby clothes on to each other.
Biggest expense will be pram and car seat - (though we got a joie chrome bundle which was about £400, I know you can spend a lot more) we used a sling a lot more than a pram for the first 6 months.
Next to me we borrowed from a friend. We did buy a cot but my baby didn't sleep in it until about 18 months! Wish I'd not bought it and just gone from a floor bed when we finished bedsharing!
Then depending on whether you plan to breastfeed or bottle feed (breastfeeding is totally free!) you'll need bottles etc but other than that babies don't need much at all!

MooseWL · 16/05/2023 06:31

Sorry replied to the wrong person! @38andtrying I think it was you speaking about showing!

doozledog · 16/05/2023 07:46

Does anybody else wake through the night to go for a wee? 3 times last night! I Can't remember the last time i had a full night sleep!!!

Tryingtoconceivenumber2 · 16/05/2023 08:14

@doozledog yes. The night before last it was 3 times, last night it was only 1 so it does vary. I also don't think I drink that much before bed either! X

Mldn · 16/05/2023 08:30

I wee about 2x every night! So so annoying.

I’m 16 weeks on Thursday & I’ve been squishy & bloated up until this week, yet looked pregnant! Yesterday morning I woke up and all of my tummy felt hard. This morning I have woke up and I have a definite hard bump lower tummy that is hard to touch & moveable.. does that make sense? Anybody with a “real bump” or pregnancy before now, how does the bump feel cos I am freaking out 😂

last day of my hol today & so tempted for a private scan when I’m back x

MooseWL · 16/05/2023 08:50

@mldn hard bump is normal! It's full of fluid!

Tryingtoconceivenumber2 · 16/05/2023 08:54

Yes hard bump is normal x

Mldn · 16/05/2023 10:05

Oh I wasn’t looking at going for a scan cos of how bump feels. Just general anxiety!

Exciting to feel an actual bump & not just bloat, just a weird feeling as it literally appeared over the course of two nights & it’s my first that’s all!

MooseWL · 16/05/2023 10:21

@Mldn no judgement here!

I'm finding the time between 12 and 20 weeks scans so hard! I'm desperate to find out the sex as well but I find the private places gender reveals so cheesy and the whole baby blue and pink thing just grosses me out 🤣 so i think I'll wait until 20 week scan! I've felt bits of movement this last week which is providing some reassurance though. Didn't feel anything with my first until 22 weeks probably due to anterior placenta so hoping placenta is elsewhere this time cos feeling the movement is nice!

Mldn · 16/05/2023 10:23

I have an anterior placenta, so not expecting to feel movement anytime soon! Which is why I’m pleased to finally have a little bumpy!! I’m the same with private gender scans - happy to wait until 20 weeks for that! There’s just such a long time between 12 & 20 isn’t there @MooseWL x

Tryingtoconceivenumber2 · 16/05/2023 11:10

Called up about my NIPT test today. They said that the first sample was no good and they are trying the second sample. Lady on the phone obvs didn't know the technical reasons for this.

Are we thinking it's likely that I will end up having a re-draw and having to wait the whole 10 working days again? Anyone had this?

I'm worried as I had the test Friday afternoon and then there was a bank holiday that maybe the blood had been hanging around for too long before they started on it. They only do a Friday for this test in my area so I can't see that being better next time. If they can't get it to work from this second bottle as my scan is Friday I'm thinking that I might actually get the NHS test results first although they are less accurate.

I'm really gutted as I have massively struggled with the wait the last few days x

Katiec1 · 16/05/2023 12:03

@doozledog yes!!! I’m up at least 2 times a night 🙈🙈 the way I see it it’s my bodies way of getting prepared for those sleepless nights 🙈😂
we had our NIPT test yesterday, told between 7/10 days for results, feels like it’s going to be forever a wait, everything perfect on scan just the bloods and waiting to find out gender! My heart is telling me another girl is on the way

Mrsrobinsonx · 16/05/2023 12:58

Hey! Has anyone started feeling worse at 13/14 weeks?
Ive felt pretty good most of this pregnancy apart from odd days/weeks but I’ve had migraines/extreme tiredness and feeling generally meh this past week.
Its going the opposite way it should for me 🤣

Slinks8113 · 16/05/2023 13:23

12 week scan today and she’s pushed me back to my original due date so I’m now 12 weeks 6 instead of 12 weeks 1. Due 22nd November I think.
Baby was wriggling around too much to do the measurement so got to go back on Thursday for a rescan.
Big milestone as not got this far before ❤️

@Mrsrobinsonx i remember on my 1st pregnancy I felt great till about 11 weeks, then it hit me…the sickness, tiredness, feeling rough! It passed around the 18 week mark!
hoping you feel better soon x

LeeanneD11 · 16/05/2023 19:36

Hi ladies ,

How can I settle my nerves & anxiety, Im paranoid as hell . I've got a scan Thursday and all this worry is driving me mad im not sleeping well at all. And I keep saying to everyone I don't want the person scanning me till they see a heartbeat and then show me as I've got no symptoms or anything and im now over 11 weeks maybe more who knows lol getting told 2 different things 😂😂🤦‍♀️

I wasn't like this in my previous pregnancy but because I got a cyst this can cause a miscarriage. I've got no spotting , jusy pressure at the bottom of back basically top of bum😂😂 every time I walk . Not many people know mainly close family . And my family are very supportive telling me to stop but I can't does anyone have advise or tips I just want this ease a little 😞🤍🤍
