@Tryingtoconceivenumber2 thank you. No clots in mine and I’d say it was more like 3 separate 5p pieces. I haven’t had any more and it’s now 12 years later…so I think I’ll wait for now and see if I get anymore: just annoying that there’s a 4 week wait till the next scan!

Psqueak87 · 13/05/2023 09:17

12 hours later. Not years, lol. I really should preview before I post! It’s 2am here in Canada and I’ve just finished work, so that’s my excuse!

Tryingtoconceivenumber2 · 13/05/2023 09:20

@Psqueak87 that's a good sign as mine just kept coming.

Ah I know. It does get easier when you start to feel movement and you know they are ok. Might not be too much longer for that. I felt my first from around 16 weeks x

Psqueak87 · 13/05/2023 09:24

@Tryingtoconceivenumber2 oh wow, I can’t wait to feel her move! I’m 15 weeks tomorrow! Hopefully I’ll get movements as quick as you did. Thanks for talking me off the ledge!

Chellooo · 13/05/2023 10:02

@Psqueak87 snap! Due date buddies :)

Tryingtoconceivenumber2 · 13/05/2023 10:02

@Psqueak87 no problem! Let us know how you are tomorrow.

I'm 11 + 6 today first day I have actually felt energetic and normal. I've already done a load of washing put that out, breakfast for me and DD, I've actually eaten a bacon sandwich I'm hoping this is the start of getting more normal days. Off out soon so enjoy the sun ☀️ xx

spanglesj · 13/05/2023 12:40

@LeeanneD11 i have itching all over, with really itchy areas around my ankles and abdomen. I don’t think it’s a cause for concern (I read that most itching / rash stuff of concern happens later) but I’m still gonna let my midwife know. If nothing else than to find out what cream I can use! It’s keeping me awake now! I had some in my last pregnancy too.

spanglesj · 13/05/2023 12:43

@Psqueak87 what’s your early pregnancy unit like there, will they scan you if you get any more? Hopefully you won’t now though 😊 I had a sub chorionic heamatoma bleed and my baby was fine, last time. That filled a couple of pads. Have read about the cervical irritation thing too.

Mine affects me worse at night & it's burns . And pressure on top-of my bum too I'll mention this to my midwife at my next app or call them Monday it's horrible xx

Over 24 hours after I had some blood I’ve had no more. I am having some dull pain every now and again but I’m going to assume the best and assume it is stuff moving and growing. But yeah, no more blood since the 3 largeish drops.

@spanglesj I’ve had great care so far. Seem to have so many more visits and appointments as you all get at home. I was told previously that any bleeding before 20 weeks to go to the regular emergency room. Any bleeding 20 weeks forward to go to the women’s hospital area. If I don’t get any more bleeding I’ll leave it at that. I have to assume if there was something drastically wrong there would surely be so much more blood, or clotting or something.

parents are arriving from the Uk tomorrow so I’ll be breaking the news to them then!

thanks all again for your reassuring words!!

Tryingtoconceivenumber2 · 14/05/2023 09:45

@Psqueak87 glad all is ok and bleeding has stopped x

38andtrying · 14/05/2023 10:28

@Psqueak87 great bleeding is stopped, hoping it stays away for you

How's everyone doing? I'm 14 weeks tomorrow, time is flying but I'm really grateful for that.

So as this is my first pregnancy I'm perplexed as I'm showing already, I didn't expect to show until like 18-20 weeks, I've read older women tend to show earlier and smaller women both of which I am but I honestly didn't expect it, I keep expecting it to go down again, anyone else ? Does this mean I will be massive ?

Tryingtoconceivenumber2 · 14/05/2023 10:33

@38andtrying glad all is ok. I am 12 weeks today and feels like a milestone. Scan is on Friday and still awaiting NIPT test but only 4 working days gone so far due to bank hol and 2 weekends.

On DD I was 32 and under 9 stone when I conceived I would say I started showing at around the 14 / 15 week mark. I honestly just looked like I had a football up my top at the end. Not a very big bump or baby - 6lbs 1oz x

Is it common to be so itchy behind the knees , its constantly itchy and goes red and burning sensation too. What it could be? Only noticed yesterday. I do a lot of walking tho could that be the reason?

Also another question does anyone else get pressure at the top of buttox (bum) 😂 every time I walk long periods I get this pressure and I struggle to walk after . I have to stop for 10 mins cause It's terrible 😞 im only around 11+ xx

I am not getting any itchiness, and i'm 14+1 now, has it eased up for you?
do you mean above your pelvic bone, at the bottom of your spine? im personally not getting pain there, but i do in my groin and pubic bone which i found out is caused by the baby growing so nothing to worry about. Try to keep active and doing some pregnancy exercises see if that eases up. in the absence of pain and/or bleeding i wouldnt worry excessively but do call your midwife if youre concerned. Good luck

Thack · 14/05/2023 14:18

@LeeanneD11 worth a call to your midwife just to check

I've forgotten what mine said exactly, I have in my head that being itchy across your tummy and middle is OK and normal but itchy hands are concerning.
No mention of knees, I'm sure your MW would be happy to receive a call to clarify.

FfoxRedN · 14/05/2023 14:33

@38andtrying in the last week from 11-12 it's really obvious that I've swollen out front ways. I went shopping for some shorts this morning, totally unsuccessful and think I'm going to have to get maternity stuff already. My first aswell x

JD90 · 14/05/2023 14:46

@FfoxRedN I bought some dungarees that were reduced in tesco a couple of weeks back and they have been a life saver. Also bought some maternity trousers and jeans off vinted. Definitely much better price wise. Got a pair for work so I have them further down the line, brand new with tags still on originally from next for £7 including postage! There's loads on there saves you a fortune too.

medicmumma · 14/05/2023 15:21

Anyone already getting stressed about the cost of having a baby?

I honestly don’t know how in the current cost of living crisis how I’m going to be able to afford clothes, prams, nappies etc all on mat pay

Tryingtoconceivenumber2 · 14/05/2023 15:25

@medicmumma have a look on Facebook market place so many baby things for sale on there and some are hardly used e.g as been spares for grandparents etc x

Mine is always my bum lol the pressure but the top , still itching . It's no where else to just behind my knees and sometimes my legs . I'll call my midwife tomorrow about it xx

FfoxRedN · 14/05/2023 16:41

@JD90 thank you I will definitely give Vinted a go once I know roughly my size in maternity wear. In normal clothes im a 16 now, the 14s won't go over the bottom of my stomach.

@medicmumma I plan on getting what I can on marketplace, just being careful that it's the nicer stuff from clean homes etc. I would use second hand from my family so I don't see the difference. I would get a new car seat for safety reasons though and basic clothes 😊 xx

FlyingHighFlyingLow · 14/05/2023 19:37

I went out today and got some linen rich trousers in a size up from M&S, not too horrendous at £22 and they were very stretchy and comfy at the waistband so will hopefully manage a while!

Any one else just really struggling with food aversion? The nausea itself is getting better but I just really don't seem to want anything. I used to love food! Now everything my DH suggests I just think about how awful it was coming back up the other way and I can't come up with any ideas myself for the same reason. I've just lost all enthusiasm for everything 😭. I can't even bring myself to look at toast even though I feel fine!

spanglesj · 14/05/2023 20:34

@FlyingHighFlyingLow yeah, massively. My vomiting is subsiding now at 15 wks but aversion are still strong. Even tho thankfully the worst of the nausea has passed I still count aversion as a type of nausea really. I think once it really passes so will the aversion! I got over excited and tried to start eating salad etc but admitted defeat on white toast all day long for now and feel much better for it. So go with whatever works I reckon :-))) !

on the subject of clothes my 12 wk scan treat to myself was some maternity shorts from vinted and I love them. They are a brand called Ripe which we don’t have here in the UK but lovely quality and got them so cheap!

spanglesj · 14/05/2023 20:38

@medicmumma yeah the list is so long of stuff to buy . Not sure what others found but I didn’t use a lot of the big stuff we bought like cot , pump and steriliser. All those things are personal of course but thought I’d share that I def could have saved money!! And bouncy chair you can get second hand and wash cover etc. we bought pram on eBay and sponge cleaned. Etc x

Alloveragain3 · 15/05/2023 11:34

Ah, I just had a tiny bit of brown spotting. :(

I'm 14 weeks and had the same at 10 weeks.

No other symptoms but I can't help panicking.

Has anyone else been getting spotting? I didn't have any in my first pregnancy.
