@38andtrying & @Rebs23
I'm NI too, I had my booking appt a few weeks ago, 12 wk scan this Friday (finally) will be almost 13wks.
Remember to bring urine, and you'll get bloods done. I'd drink some fluid before the scan.. not go crazy.
In terms of questions it's a lot of family history & if previously pregnant (including miscarriages) history. Run through next set of appts, who to contact if concerns. Run through any tests / risks / concerns you have.
They do a carbon monoxide breathing test too

This is my 3rd pregnancy so was a lot quicker.. prob will take close to an hour for the booking part.

Thanks for all your replies 🥰. I think when we tell them I'll be more like 14 weeks so probably a good middle ground. I just feel so anxious it's not going to go well so don't want all the questions about boy/girl/names/birthdays/rooms etc etc which I know will come as soon as they find out. It comes from a good place I just don't know if I'm ready for it xx

Rebs23 · 08/05/2023 19:25

@LilmissCa ah thank you this is so helpful!! 💕

LilmissCa · 08/05/2023 19:41

For anyone with siblings to tell about a new pregnancy, my son & I both LOVED this book when I was pregnant (on third now) and can't wait to bring it out again.
It's called Let's talk to mummy's tummy.
It goes through week by week progress & helps them understand changes when baby is born etc
The best of all siblings books I got!

Psqueak87 · 08/05/2023 20:00

@Mldn thought it was just me with the hot drinks . Couldn’t stand them. Used to drink one coffee and atleast 5 teas a day. Could only drink iced coffees and Frappuccino’s for the last 6 weeks. Finally enjoyed a hot cuppa tea last night!

Mldn · 08/05/2023 20:04

@Psqueak87 haha exactly the same! I’d have 2 brews before I left home in the morning, then a coffee on my way to the office & several more throughout the day! Went completely off them and could only drink really cold drinks. Eased back onto a coffee this week. It felt so strong but tasted gooood xx

Psqueak87 · 08/05/2023 20:33

Starbucks have been making an absolute fortune from me on Frappuccino’s this last 6 weeks, lol.

Mrsrobinsonx · 09/05/2023 07:16

@Mldn @Psqueak87 I completely went off coffee, makes me sick every time! But I’ve managed to drink 1 cup of tea a day.
I agree about the Starbucks frappes, I’ve managed to keep iced drinks down.

1 day until my scan, super nervous! 🙏🏻

also, is it possible to feel ‘flutters’ at 12-13 weeks? I felt my second at 14 weeks and although it’s very tiny, I can definitely feel some ‘familiar’ feelings when I lay still, only started yesterday but very much doubting it 🤣

GemmaJen · 09/05/2023 07:34

@Mrsrobinsonx Im feeling the same, the odd 'bump' in the right place, but when I try and concentrate on it it goes quiet and I can only feel my heartbeat. I'm wondering if my baby has a sense of humour. Doesn't feel like 'flutters' though, but I don't remember feeling that with my first. I think she went from zero to full mosh pit mode 😂

TMI2000 · 09/05/2023 09:23

Morning all, hope everyone is doing good!

I have my 12 week scan today at 2.55pm and it feels like so long to wait when I am this anxious. My symptoms have calmed down a lot which I know is totally normal for this time but I can't help but fear the worst!

Fingers crossed everything is all perfectly healthy and good luck to anyone else with scans today or coming up!

Sb86 · 09/05/2023 09:25

Good luck for your scan @TMI2000 ❤️

LilmissCa · 09/05/2023 09:25

@TMI2000 good luck today!! Mines is Friday .. can't come quick enough

MooseWL · 09/05/2023 09:39

@TMI2000 Good luck with your scan!

@Mldn @Psqueak87 I'm the same with hot drinks used to drink about 6 teas a day. I'm 14+4 and have managed the odd one the last week but still not really fancying them!
My nausea is back for some reason though, I'm struggling to drink anything. I've been drinking squash but I seem to be really thirsty and drinking it quickly, then throwing it up because I drank top much. Pregnancy is so glam

NatGee · 09/05/2023 09:42

@TMI2000 good luck crossing everything for you xx

FfoxRedN · 09/05/2023 10:35

Good luck @TMI2000 for today 🥰.
I had one this morning and baby is measuring right on track at 11w2d (after she waited for it to stretch out a bit, was originally 10w5d). Just to reassure if anyone's measurements are slightly out it can change loads once baby cooperates. Xx

BabyBabyBaby123 · 09/05/2023 10:40

I feel like I’m really struggling to hide my pregnancy this week.
None of my clothes are comfortable, but I weigh less now than I did when I got pregnant with my daughter, so my maternity clothes from then are still far too big.
So annoying, as I am waiting for my dating scan before I tell people and I still have over a week to wait, but I’m pretty sure people are onto me already. I can only wear so many baggy jumpers and cardys as the weather is starting to brighten up.
Anyone got any bump hiding tips? I’m 12 +5, but this is my 3rd baby and I am definitely showing already.

FfoxRedN · 09/05/2023 11:02

@BabyBabyBaby123 I've resorted to mom jeans and oversized T-shirts! It's about all that will hide my bloat 😂😂😂

Slinks8113 · 09/05/2023 11:06

I’ve booked a private scan this afternoon on a bit of a whim as been having a lot of anxious thoughts the last few days and nhs one isn’t due for another week.
Ive had feelings of nausea and headaches from about 7-8 weeks and not been sick at all until this weekend where I’ve thrown up both days at around 5pm which I’ve found a bit odd. Doesn’t help that I’m full of cold either so really feeling sorry for myself lol.
currently at work wishing the time away until later, fingers crossed for everyone having a scan today too x x

Tryingtoconceivenumber2 · 09/05/2023 11:12

Good luck to all having scans today. Trying to keep busy here as awaiting NIPT results which will be at least another week no doubt and counting days to next scan #9 days to go. So big week for us next week.

Still feel sick and DD has give DH and me her cold which is literally awful and she's been up most nights the last week so not feeling great at the moment. Not used to the lack of sleep these days.

Have to go to office tomorrow have literally 1 top that will hide it haha x

Travellingislife · 09/05/2023 12:26

Good luck to everyone having scans!

@Psqueak87 I never even thought about getting frappes instead! I could probably have managed them 😅
I used to drink at least 2 coffees a day but I couldn’t even stand the smell of it for weeks.

@Mldn I still look like I’ve eaten too much bread 😅 but I can feel my uterus just above my pubic bone now and I love that.
I hope you’re enjoying the sunshine! I was a sun worshipper until I had my son, then I went totally off it and can’t stand being in the sun if it’s more than 20 deg C. I thought it would disappear after he was born but no 😏 I also remember my skin being more sensitive and I got some sun pigmentation too which I still have, now I’ll always cover up when out in the sun as I don’t want anymore.

Mldn · 09/05/2023 12:43

@Travellingislife ah I’ve felt my uterus above my pubic bone for ages now. I felt it really early on & asked the midwife as a scan & she confirmed it. But now it does feel like it is getting bigger! Feel weird today, want the next few weeks to speed up so I don’t book a scan between now & 20 weeks! Sure all is absolutely fine! Yeh, I’ve heard that about skin changing in the sun after/during pregnancy. I’ve always been a bit of a sun worshipper, I do have some pigmentation on my face! Coping okay so far & using factor 50/dipping in the pool etc. Have defo upped my SPF game in recent years anyway just due to aging etc. For now, just enjoying laying here & reading my way through the days! Hope all good with you x

Rebsy23 · 09/05/2023 12:52

Hi everyone, I had my first scan today and everything went well, so relieved! The baby wouldn't turn around though so our pics aren't the best, they're with its back to the scanner lol but as long as everything looked okay I don't care!

They did measure me at 6 days ahead of what it should be based on LMP, has anyone else experienced this? I know I did ovulate quite early (CD10) so I'm thinking maybe that's why but would be so grateful for anyone with any knowledge to share on this! They have referred me to a consultant for my 16w appt just to be safe.

Tryingtoconceivenumber2 · 09/05/2023 13:04

@Rebsy23 glad all was ok.

Similar but slightly less for me. When I had an early scan I thought I was 6 + 6 and they moved me to 7 + 3 so difference of 4 days. Went for NIPT test last week and still measuring 4 days more. I also ovulated early ish CD12 so that lines up with what you have.

Last pregnancy was moved 4 / 5 days later x

Rebsy23 · 09/05/2023 13:55

@Tryingtoconceivenumber2 ah thank you so much for the reassurance - nice to know someone else has experienced this before! :)

Tryingtoconceivenumber2 · 09/05/2023 13:57

@Rebsy23 no problem. LMP is based on you having an average 28 day cycle and so many people vary earlier side of that x
