When your measuring ahead are they changing your due date on file?
Where I am based they didn't in my previous pregnancies, always had a different date in my head

Tryingtoconceivenumber2 · 09/05/2023 14:06

Here the only change it at the 12 week dating scan and don't any other time. My other scans so far have been private and NHS midwife said they would not take them in to consideration x

38andtrying · 09/05/2023 14:32

is your date still liable to change if you have had a scan around 10 weeks and date confirmed then? i am hoping my dates dont change to later as i will be 13w+3 when i get my NT scan and I know they cant do if after 14 weeks

Mldn · 09/05/2023 15:12

@LilmissCa I think the 12 week appointment is the official dating scan @38andtrying & then it doesn’t change after that. I was due to be 12+3 at my 12 week & they moved me to 13. Hopefully you won’t move too much if you’ve had a scan at 10 weeks - mine was 8 weeks! I was so nervous about the NT reading as I came away on holiday the day after my scan & I'm not back until after 15 weeks, so would be too late. But they just tried for a longer time (about 25 mins in total) & made me move about etc & finally got all of the readings! Hopefully you will be okay! Alternatively, maybe call your maternity booking unit every other day & check if they have any earlier spaces come available. That’s what I was advised but nothing came up x

Tryingtoconceivenumber2 · 09/05/2023 15:21

@38andtrying I had a scan at 7+3 and 10+5 and my date stayed the same between those two appointments so I will be very surprised if it's any more than an day either side of that when I go next week. Should be 12+5 then x

spanglesj · 09/05/2023 16:36

@Rebsy23 hiya, mine is measuring 4 days ahead of what it was expected to be based on LMP - but thought it would be interesting to know that it doesn’t always mean early ovulation, as mine was IVF we know precisely GA of baby, they are just growing ahead (my son measured 4 days ahead too all the well through). The downside for me is that they won’t move my due date forward (as they never move them with ivf!) but I am still counting myself as ahead 😅 feels nicer. Interesting they have referred you to a consultant for this though, did they say why? X x

Rebsy23 · 09/05/2023 16:42

@spanglesj ahh I see! That is interesting about IVF. That's a shame that they won't change your due date, I know at this stage any extra days can feel a bit reassuring - for example I thought I was 12 weeks today but going by this scan I'll be 13 weeks tomorrow! They did change my official due date on my file and brought it forward so it seems they're going with that. Interestingly my early private scan at 7weeks also had me measuring ahead.

The consultant is just for my 16 week scan, I think they said once it is measuring over 5 days larger they just want to get a closer look, they told me not to worry about it too much so I am clinging to that!

Slinks8113 · 09/05/2023 17:03

Hi ladies, had my private scan today and all looking well. Measuring at 11+2 which is 1 day ahead from previous scan and got to see babies arms and legs moving around and strong heartbeat ❤️
When she went back in for another photo, baby had put it’s hand to its forehead like it had had a tough day 😂
feeling much more reassured for nhs scan next week now. Glad to see everyone else’s went ok x

spanglesj · 09/05/2023 17:14

@Slinks8113 so pleased to hear that I was hopeful for your update! Hopefully you can relax a little bit now :)

@Rebsy23 yeah i have found with both my babies they measured ahead right from 7 or 8 wks! But stayed the same amount ahead. Ah ok that is interesting to know as they don’t mention it with 4 days. Not much difference hey. Is that why you have a 16 wk scan or are you based elsewhere. I have booked a 16 wk private one to get me through to the 20 wk one! We will also find out the gender then so it’s something to really look forward to in 2.5 wks.

just need this wk to hurry along so I can relax about the combined test already! x

TMI2000 · 09/05/2023 18:44

Thank you everyone for your well wishes!

baby was well and jumping around however hiding so couldn’t get all the measurement today 🙈 have to go back a week on Friday😂

whatamess100 · 09/05/2023 19:13

How much weight has everyone put on? Im 15 weeks this week and ive put on 1stone!!!!

FlyingHighFlyingLow · 09/05/2023 19:36

So happy to hear all the good scan news! Sad I'm waiting another couple weeks for mine, I just want to know all is ok!

@whatamess100 I'm 11 weeks and I'm down 5kg from being so sick 🙈 absolutley nothing fits my waist though due to bloating! I'm sure I'll get it all back on and then some soon.

Mldn · 09/05/2023 19:37

15 weeks this week too & I’ve lost 4lbs - I’m away atm though so imagine I’ll put the usual holiday weight on… minus the booze!

FfoxRedN · 09/05/2023 19:41

@whatamess100 I am more like you, 11 weeks and I haven't dared get on the scales. Feel like I've put on about a stone though, there's no chance in hell I've lost weight!

Tryingtoconceivenumber2 · 09/05/2023 19:52

@whatamess100 I'm 11 weeks and I've gained about 3/4lbs but I think a lot of it is bloat and boobs plus being on the beige diet.

Everyone is really different, in my first pregnancy I gained under 2 stone. My friend was a very similar size to me before she got pregnant and gained 3 stone x

FlyingHighFlyingLow · 09/05/2023 19:55

You'd be surprised! Because of the bloating etc I thought I was putting on weight despite being sick. Wasn't until I got weighed I realised how much I'd lost.

Mldn · 09/05/2023 20:04

@FlyingHighFlyingLow exactly the same! I feel bigger & look bigger due to bloating & increased boobs by about 3 sizes! But on the scales in down. Looking forward to swapping the horrendous bloat for a bump x

FfoxRedN · 09/05/2023 20:07

@Mldn @FlyingHighFlyingLow I'm with you there I can't wait for it to be obviously a bump rather than too many pies 🤣 xx

Mldn · 09/05/2023 20:17

@FfoxRedN haha I’m with you!! I have a low lying wobbly bump right now that is made of carbs & bloat ! Fingers crossed the cute baby bump is on its way & the bloat subsides. I’ve never had bloating before & it’s outrageous every single day. Could pass for 9 months pregnant I swear 😂 x

Psqueak87 · 09/05/2023 23:25

Yes frappes are life, and the brown sugar oat shaken espresso from Starbucks, it’s divine. Always said I’d never pay Starbucks prices for drinks but I’m just giving my body anything it craves right now.

not counting calories for the first time in 17 years is so freeing too. I’ve literally been counting them half my life, which is quite sad.

@MooseWL my nausea isn’t back fully, but I have been having acid reflux the last 24 hours which has made me throw up a lot.

they’ve told me at every ultrasound that I have a tilted uterus. Like it tilts back ways instead of front ways…not sure what that means for the uterus movement, I’m almost 15 weeks now and deffo haven’t felt any movement there. Boobs not sore or larger either. Was hoping I’d finally be able to buy a bra bigger than an A Cup for the first time, no such luck, lol.

Earlkaytea · 10/05/2023 00:11

Hey! I am 12 weeks and thought I'd got through my crippling fatigue, wild emotions and nausea but today it hit back.
I woke up at 4am ravenous to the point of feeling sick and retching.
I am a secondary school teacher and hid in a cupboard to cry because I couldn't find my lunch.
I feel insane, have no patience, need to eat but then feel sick.
My scan is next Monday which I am really looking forward to as so far I've been given a really shit app (badger app?) and one comedy midwife appointment. I don't feel pregnant and my bump could be a baby or could be Biscuits. Is anyone else feeling this way? My partner is great, but the journey is so personal that it can feel a tad lonely. Help!

Rebs23 · 10/05/2023 06:22

@spanglesj how exciting that you’re finding out the gender so soon!

yeah I’m in NI and we have a 16wk appt but it’s not usually a scan, however because they want to check again I’m getting one. So if alls well at least I’ll have gotten an extra scan out of it! Going from 12 weeks to 20 would be so long I’d probs be like you and book a private one in between!

Mrsrobinsonx · 10/05/2023 06:56

Hey! Great to hear about the good scans yesterday.
It’s my turn, I’m so nervous 😬 12 week scan today. After 2 losses whilst trying I’ve been waiting for this point, here’s hoping all is well 🙏🏻 hope anyone else with scans this week is feeling ok! X

LilmissCa · 10/05/2023 07:57

@Mrsrobinsonx good luck for today

TMI2000 · 10/05/2023 08:35

@Mrsrobinsonx Good luck for today lovely! Got all my fingers and toes crossed for you! <3

@spanglesj we will also be booking a private scan to find out our gender at 16 weeks but that's 4 weeks away for me :) We do get a 16 week midwife appt where I believe the midwife might try and listen for baby's heartbeat but not 1000% sure on that!
