Hi everyone,

sorry, I know this has already been covered but I can’t find it any more! I have my booking and dating scan tomorrow (in NI they just do both at 12 weeks). I’d be so grateful for some advice on how best to prepare, info they might ask for etc?

@LeeanneD11 no symptoms isn't always a reason to panic, some people genuinely get nothing, but i know you are not naïve, not of us are this stage, it is certainly somewhat a reason to be a bit concerned.

I assume you have had no spotting or anything at all? (this is a good sign) do you have any breast tenderness? when you give them a squeeze or graze your nipple with your hand? are you feeling more tired than usual?

My scan is in 2 weeks and I'll be 13 weeks, as for telling people there is a huge amount of stress going on outside of this involving my DD and her dad and right about now I don't actually want to tell anyone and then have more shit piled on. Might hold off a while, tell a few people close by and then others after 20 weeks or something. In all honesty the stress of it all makes me just want to keep it to myself until they arrive!

@Rebs23 i am in the North of Ireland too and my appointment is Thursday, i will be 13w+3, im following your question, hoping someone can advise us both :)

No spotting or anything , and no my breast doesn't hurt at all they have grown but stopped now , doesn't hurt when I grab them or squeeze them xx

@LeeanneD11 my breasts never hurt either, but my nipples certainly got a bit more tender, but 100% not sore, they did grow in size and stayed that way as in didnt keep getting bigger, well so far anyway. Are you feeling tired at all? more than pre pregnancy?

I'm getting tired by 9.30am but waking up really early . I'm more tired than I used to be , my breast haven't grown anymore as of yet . But that could change . I'm so just so worried . And I'm thinking the worse for next week I had back ache yesterday but that's subsided now xx

@LeeanneD11 all sounds like typical normal pregnancy symptoms for this stage, the backache, the tiredness, the larger breasts, all good signs in my opinion. I had a MMC in December and my symptoms 100% left, i mean i could have stayed up partying all night, boobs where just normal, i had zero zero zero, you have a few symptoms and that is very typical, especially at 12 weeks.

Try to think positively and obviously the scan will tell the tale, but there is more chance of you going in and having a good scan than a bad, wishing you the very best and please let us know how you are getting on x

Thank you for your reassurance , it's helps me in way , I'm starting to show more than I did with my last pregnancy . So there is no hiding it now , my scan is next Thursday . So I'll keep everyone updated xx

@LeeanneD11 Hiya - I’m now just over 14 weeks. I had symptoms weeks 5-7 & then they stopped! I went for a scan week 8 & baby was there. However, it didn’t reassure me cos I still then had no symptoms up till my 12 week scan. At my 12 week scan baby was absolutely fine & I measured 13 weeks. I’m now just trying to tell myself this is normal for me & my only symptoms are sporadic tender boobs & tiredness, which has began to fade now. I also have a cyst on my left side, but they didn’t mention anything concerning - just said it would fade with pregnancy! I’d try to tell yourself that unless you have red bleeding or bad cramps, you are probably absolutely fine! The odds are in your favour. But I completely sympathise with you xx

Omg thank you so much for this , I have a cyst the size of 8cm, it's horrible . Maybe I'm just being silly , maybe I just need to count myself lucky I've got no symptoms or even morning sickness . I just need to tell myself everything is normal xx

@LeeanneD11 mine measured about 5.5cm I think. But did shrink between the appointments. If it was anything to worry over I think they’d have told you. I haven’t even thought about mine, as they seem so common & often happen just from the side you ovulated from! Defo try & count your blessings that you’re relatively symptomless - that’s what I’m trying to do, even now! Once you have your 12 weeks scan hopefully you’ll be more reassured! I’ve spent majority of the pregnancy symptom free & I am just trying to remember that that is my “normal” - I am very tired though but I’m generally a lover of sleep anyway! I have zero morning sickness, I went off food weeks 5-7 but that was literally all in terms of nausea & sickness for me Xx

They just said they will check it at 12 week scan but my cyst is pushing baby to one side and hiding , I'm so tired too . But not feeling sick or Anything which is good . Maybe I need to tell myself that I'm just lucky . But I didn't have any sickness In my last 2 pregnancy not even boobs tender haha but this time round I have . My boobs are growing well stopped now lol 😂 xx

@FfoxRedN I told my kids at about 9 weeks after 2 early scans!

@Travellingislife I’m 12 weeks now and feeling pretty good apart from tiredness! I’ve been extra tired this week, maybe placenta taking over I’ve been told?

Oh well I’d go off the fact that you had no symptoms in your last pregnancies either then! Hopefully you’re just a lucky one @LeeanneD11 - by boobs have grown for sure. Which is so annoying cos I actually had a breast reduction a couple years back & now they’re bigger than they ever were before & I actually have to wear real bras again 😂 what a waste of money that surgery was!! Hi @LeeanneD11 the wait is so hard isn’t it! Totally empathise. how many wks were you at your last scan? Have you noticed any change in your tiredness / energy? Although some women I spoke to aren’t even tired!!

@Travellingislife loving this new woman stuff, 13 wks and feeling nauseous today so I am looking forward to that , I really miss exercise but I am too scared to start yet as it knocked me out last time I tried a jog around 8 wks! sounds like the glow is kicking in for you !

@FfoxRedN i told my toddler at 13 wks after originally planning to wait longer mainly because he clearly knew, so it started to feel weird me not saying. I guess once they start to pick up on it is a good time, but also when you feel ready?

@LeeanneD11 I haven’t had many symptoms this pregnancy, I’ve had some sickness but not as bad as previous pregnancies, and sore boobs/tired but I’ve felt pretty good the whole time! 12 week scan on Tuesday, very nervous but excited x

Wednesday not Tuesday, bank holiday messing my days up 😂

So hard it's driving me mad haha I had a scan 3 weeks ago and now got to wait till next Thursday for my next one haha 😂 xx

My last scan I was dead on 9 weeks , I'm just so tired no sickness or anything how you doing xx

@Travellingislife I’m with you on this! Just over 14 weeks now, still mega bloated but tiredness subsided & been able to start exercising again! And finally able to drink a hot drink. Some very slight nausea every now and then. But feel wayyyy better! Have a little bump in my swimwear that defo resembles a baby & not just too much bread.

@LeeanneD11 well that’s good, hoping that the tiredness is a good sign for you! When I had my mmc my tiredness disappeared too. Xx I am ok thanks just in this phase now where no scans for a while but too early to feel baby, strange time but the weeks will pass!

That's the part I hate have a scan then wait again for the 20 week one . I can't wait for that stage . That's when you feel more pregnant I'm hoping the tiredness goes soon as it's affecting me so much especially when I'm doing school run I just wanna sleep but when I have a nap I'm more tired haha 😂 so I keep busy in the day to stay awake xx
