@vix_85 you're a hero! Sounds like a brilliant trip and glad you didn't let the nausea spoil it. You give me hope! I've got 2 weeks to be fighting fit 💪🏻

@Tryingtoconceivenumber2 aww! My estimated due date is 27th November at the mo. Got my 12 week scan booked for 17th May. How about you? How is week 9 for you so far? X

Tryingtoconceivenumber2 · 24/04/2023 10:01

@flowerlover1990 mine is the 26th. This is based on a private scan. If I go on my date of missed period I'm 8 + 4. I think the scan is more accurate as I tested positive on CD23 and it wasn't a faint line.

Ok. I had no sickness yesterday and ate a carvery lunch thought something might have been wrong as symptoms less but feel very sick this morning again but not actually been sick at all yet. On last pregnancy with DD (3) i started actually being sick at 9 weeks so we shall see what happens. Is this your first? X

TMI2000 · 24/04/2023 10:18

The anxiety has been high the past few days for me, not sure why! My symptoms are still hanging around even though they’re calming down.
hit double digits at 10 weeks today and that feels a big thing for me. Just managing my anxiety by saying there’s no reason anything could be wrong.

hope everyone is doing well!

Shaker21 · 24/04/2023 10:25

Hi all, I hit 9 weeks on Friday last week and that was the first day for me to actually be sick, I have been sick in the morning of every day since then. For all the people saying the being sick kicked in at 9 weeks....how long did you find it last? Thanks :)

FlyingHighFlyingLow · 24/04/2023 10:29

If it helps, when I was at the EPU I asked about heart rate and they said at that stage (7+2) they'd have to hit baby with a lot more ultrasound to measure so they don't like to do it until they're bigger so don't need to use as much.

My nausea eased off somewhat past few days, even managed a couple of full meals 😱 but now I'm getting random vomiting. Yesterday it was breakfast. Today it was teeth brushing and breakfast. I don't even feel nauseous, it just suddenly comes up! I'm 9 weeks tomorrow according to EPU scan, 9+3 from LMP.

@flowflowerlover1990 I'm just about to fly home from 4 days in Prague and I was determined it wouldn't be ruined. Just managed the nausea with lemonade and salty foods, puked once after spicy nachos but managed 100,000 steps / 35 miles over the 4 days. Absolutely shattered now though!

I feel you, also have a hen party in a few weeks and wondering how I will cope 🤢

BabyBabyBaby123 · 24/04/2023 11:15

I called the hospital this morning to ask if there is still time to get my dating scan booked before 14 weeks with my booking appointment not being until exactly 12 weeks and she assured me they would get me in ASAP after my booking appointment. So keeping my fingers crossed that she’s right!

Tryingtoconceivenumber2 · 24/04/2023 12:05

@Shaker21 last time my sickness peaked at around 9 weeks. It was pretty much gone by 13 weeks x

MeganC104 · 24/04/2023 12:29

Just wondering if anyone has been ghosted since telling a friend you're pregnant. I've decided this pregnancy I want to keep it very private. Only tell close friends & family. Everyone has been so nice except one friend whose just gone completely quiet on me. She has 2 children and I really thought she'd be supportive but I just feel a bit lost. We've been friends for over 20 years.i know she's seen the message.

Tryingtoconceivenumber2 · 24/04/2023 12:33

@MeganC104 do you think she may be trying for baby number 3 and is struggling or perhaps want a 3rd but her partner doesn't? Sorry that you have had this reaction x

NatGee · 24/04/2023 12:52

@Mldn ive also just recovered from a water infection, skin is beginning to break out but nausea is improving. at least something! had to take antibiotics for the infection, not my favourite but had to be done. now on probiotics and fermented foods to replenish all the good bacteria. Pregnancy indeed!

Mldn · 24/04/2023 12:55

@NatGee yeh I had a course of antibiotics too. They didn’t clear it up but reduced the bacteria.. although still abnormal levels. But GP said unless symptoms return they won’t prescribe me anymore! I’m ready for the second trimester glow & energy I keep reading about 😅 xx

greentreeseverywhere · 24/04/2023 13:34

8weeks +6 today and sick for the first time! felt nausea for weeks but felt awful this morning and then went all hot and was sick! strangley reassuring as boobs and tiredness have eased last week! but hope its not a regular thing

FfoxRedN · 24/04/2023 15:55

@MeganC104 it could be she doesn't know how to deal with the news? It doesn't help how it's made you feel, if she was a good friend it would seem out of character for her to ignore you (or forget to reply!) could you reach out again?

My sickness has totally gone today 😩. Just hoping I wake up feeling rough tomorrow xx

spanglesj · 24/04/2023 16:37

thanks @Sb86 , so sorry for yours too. Good to hear you have already had a scan, I didn’t have any throwing up with my son, just nausea too. The scan wait is just the hardest isn’t it, you’re just willing the days away. One thing is for sure that it will swing around soon, not that it feels like it today! We are the same gestation pretty much. Interestingly I’m only on my pessaries until wk 12. Must be different at different practices I guess or something? Still, no bad thing to be on for longer. (Aside from the discomfort hey) Hang in there xx

Sb86 · 24/04/2023 17:02

@spanglesj yeah there are some who are same as you with 12 weeks of progesterone and others like myself, not sure why though. Just seeing the pessary in the packet makes me feel nauseous, it's weird isn't it how it makes you feel. My scan got booked at 9+3 but it still feels like forever since my appointment and forever til my scan. I'm just so worried that something is going to go wrong, I hate that after the mc I don't trust my body anymore 😔 x

spanglesj · 24/04/2023 17:05

@FfoxRedN If it helps I’m in a really bad way but twice I’ve had two 1-2 day breaks from nausea. I hear this is quite common but doesn’t make us worry any less does it!!

@MeganC104 that was my first thought too that she couldn’t deal with the news, but even in that situ would usually get a reply right. Do you think you would feel comfortable asking her why she hasn’t responded?

@FlyingHighFlyingLow Thanks that definitely helps me!

FfoxRedN · 24/04/2023 18:38

@spanglesj thanks that is reassuring 😊 xx

Mldn · 24/04/2023 20:04

After some advice re supplements. I am taking pregnacare max, and I’m now 12 weeks. I have about 5 weeks worth left, so will take them. But wondering whether I should get more & continue throughout the pregnancy? I can’t really see anything online to support continuing to take them? Most things say up until 12 weeks x

Mrsrobinsonx · 24/04/2023 20:40

hi ladies!
anyone that’s been struggling with constipation, have you found anything that works? Or anything you’re allowed to take for it? I’m struggling it’s my worst symptom so far.
Also my nausea has peaked now, been pretty much fine with it the whole time up until 9 weeks and now 10+2 and still going strong 🤢 but can’t really complain after the last month of feeling ok 😂

Mrsrobinsonx · 24/04/2023 20:41

@Mldn the first 12 weeks is the most important for development etc, you can continue all the way through or can stop after that it’s up to you! There’s no harm in carrying on, I’ll probably take them the whole way through. X

Skyla01 · 24/04/2023 20:44

@Mldn I had one packet of pregnancy supplements, and one of folic acid. Both have just finished. I'm not going to buy anymore. I'm not far off twelve weeks and eating fairly healthy. I think advice is folic acid for twelve weeks then can stop. If you're diet is decent you probably don't need any more supplements but wouldn't do any harm if you want to keep taking them.

NatGee · 24/04/2023 20:50

@Mldn id carry on some kind of supplementation yeah. Baby will essentially leach, pardon the term, nutrients from your body and leave what's left for you which might not be much. My mum, in her day bless her, didn't know about it and ended up with really bad teeth. Extracted a whole load as all her pregnancies (6) took their toll on her body.

@Mrsrobinsonx yeah im beginning to get a bit constipated. Not sure where are you in terms of nausea but try to eat all your veg and fruit - things like bananas, peanut butter, lots of water and green veg have been working for me so far

Thack · 24/04/2023 20:55

@Mrsrobinsonx my MW said 2-3 litres of water a day, aim for the higher end, which I find impossible!
Later in pregnancy I relied on prune juice. It is an acquired taste, but a small/half glass used to get me moving comfortably.

NatGee · 24/04/2023 20:56

@Thack yeah, for me, 1.5 litres is about as much as i can manage a day, although good thing is juices and tea count :)
