Is anyone's bellybutton popped out ? Mine hasn't and I'm just wondering 💭 if it will

LS888 · 01/06/2023 08:14

@airmaxJ mine hasn’t…yet! Not sure if it will but time will tell!

unluckyinlife · 01/06/2023 08:54

Strangely enough mine has only popped out with my first. Of which I was the lowest weight and gained the lowest weight! I had him at 37 and 1. With my daughter my bump was much bigger and I gained nearly 4 stone yet my belly button stayed in but looked flat towards the end (41 weeks and 1 day).

I'm 28 weeks with baby three and it hasn't popped yet! X

BCxx · 01/06/2023 08:54

@airmaxJ mine has or at least partially has, it’s been like that for a while and I don’t think it happened last time

unluckyinlife · 01/06/2023 09:00

Good Morning everyone ❤️

I hope everyone is doing OK. I can't believe we are finally in the third trimester. The pregnancy still doesn't feel real to me. Had a minor panic when a phone call from the hospital warned me that due to my past health issues and coil that they can make the decision to deliver baby anytime from my 28 week growth scan if they feel necessary.

Which is tomorrow and at a hospital 3.5 hours away from home! (I originally booked in London then moved north a few weeks ago) they haven't handed over my care yet.

I went and brought the basics for the maternity bag and the Next to me is being delivered Saturday so we're pushing to get things sorted now! The pregnancy and baby despite all these extra precautions and warnings has actually been my easiest yet (I was hospitalised on and off from about 24 weeks with my other two). I am just so grateful. This has been the biggest and best surprise ever! ❤️

BCxx · 01/06/2023 09:05

@unluckyinlife oh what a worry, hopefully you still have a while to go yet 🤞🏻Fingers crossed the growth scan goes well. I’ve not done a thing and keep thinking if something happened and I need to go to into hospital my husband wouldn’t know the first thing to put in a bag so I should probably pack one for me at least! My friend at work went into labour really early and her husband threw clothes in a bag for her. The next day after baby was born she went to put the clothes on and it was her work clothes 😂

unluckyinlife · 01/06/2023 09:10

@BCxx your poor friend! 😄 my husband would do the exact same!!
I'm hoping baby stays put until at least full term as my husband works away Mon-Friday for now and if would be nice to spend Mat leave together at home rather than at the hospital. I also have 0 arrangements for if my son is still at school when baby arrives yet as we've moved quite far from family and I. Was expecting a summer holidays baby!

We hadn't done anything whatsoever when I got the call so now we're trying to put things in place! All our energy was focused on moving that baby things were kind of forgotten! (And it was exhausting!!) My friend moved house at 39 weeks and gave birth 2 days later, I genuinely have no idea how she did it, I'm even more in awe now!

I'm hoping all is well with the growth scan, I'm quite excited to see baby and I am taking my mum as my husband is away so she's quite excited too x

Marmaladebear · 01/06/2023 11:00

@unluckyinlife good luck with your scan! Hope all goes well ♥️ and well done on moving, we're still trying to find a house in the north to move to from London 😅

jollydollyirl · 01/06/2023 11:46

Hope everyone is keeping well ladies!

29 weeks today and so looking forward to a 4D scan we've booked on Saturday! Was looking into TENS machines - I know it's probably personal preference but are they worth it? Are there any particular brands that are better than others?

Spiralout · 01/06/2023 12:13

@airmaxJ mine hasn’t although my DH commented that it did whilst DTD recently. I really didn’t need to know that 😂

Rowanandremy · 01/06/2023 14:55

@airmaxJ mine hasn’t, yet! It didn’t with dd but looks like it might this time.

@unluckyinlife what a worry for you, really hope all goes well with your growth scan. I applaud you for moving while pregnant, we moved last year when I wasn’t and it was a lot 😂 I can’t imagine doing it all while pregnant.

@BCxx your poor friend! We’re the opposite here, dw is fretting about the hospital bag and making sure we have everything where as I am very passive about it 😂 it was the same last time to be fair but this time we’ve also got to pack a bag for dd to go to a relatives house and make sure she has enough of everything in case labour takes longer than what it did for her. We’ve ordered some new travel bags to start packing everything, just waiting for them to arrive. Feels a bit surreal to be honest

DesertSnow · 01/06/2023 20:00

Hi all, thanks for your kind thoughts yesterday. Just to update for anyone not on the FB group - unfortunately there are signs of placental resistance and decreased blood flow to baby. I've been asked to go in for a CTG tomorrow and another on Monday. Then another scan with FMU on Wednesday to see how how fast placenta is deteriorating. The idea is to keep baby in for as long as possible, but to catch the placenta as it starts to really fail and basically make the call at every assessment whether baby needs to come now.

So basically they could decide to deliver baby at any point from now. I'm only 31 + 5 today so this is a very scary thought. The consultant said that best case scenario is that I'll manage to get to 37 weeks, and then they'll deliver but he wasn't very confident.

TORCH results are all negative thankfully, and the good news is he said he's pretty sure it's nothing chromosomal or wrong with baby itself.

But it's looking like I'll be lucky to get to July. I'm trying not to think too far ahead but it's all a bit frightening and stressful. I'm telling myself that every day baby stays in is another day stronger.

Spiralout · 01/06/2023 20:10

@DesertSnow It must be such an emotional rollercoaster for you right now, sending you lots of positive wishes. Good news re the TORCH screen but can only imagine the stress of knowing baby may need to be delivered anytime from now on. I’m glad to hear you are having regular monitoring though and hope you are able to rest and keep life less stressful in other areas!

BCxx · 01/06/2023 20:17

@DesertSnow sorry it wasn’t more straightforward news but hopefully the extra tests/scans will help give you more info and fingers crossed you get to nearer 37 weeks 🤞🏻 I’m sure even if you didn’t though you’ll be absolutely fine but it’s just such a worry when you want to be able to meet baby and go home the next day like you always imagined instead of having to have NICU stays and all the extra worry. Are they looking at doing a section as soon as they think baby is best off out of there then?

sommeliermama · 01/06/2023 21:57

@airmaxJ mine looks like it's on the way to popping out over the next few weeks.

@DesertSnow that's such a worry for you! Fingers crossed baby can stay in there for as long as possible. It must be such a stressful time but hope you are holding up ok

airmaxJ · 01/06/2023 22:17

@DesertSnow I hope baby can stay in for much longer, I had my daughter at 30 weeks and she needed the cpap oxygen and was in for 7 weeks before coming home. No issues and is fully healthy . They say every day counts inside and your baby is already more . X take care and rest well

Paintandpots · 02/06/2023 05:48

@DesertSnow hopefully baby can stay inside you for as long as possible and get to the 36/37 week mark, rest and relax a much as possible. Every day until then counts. Hospital bag ready to go just in case?

@airmaxJ mine popped out months ago. But im thinking this is down to the bump being so big. It is this wired conical like thing that sticks out a bit from the bump itself. Weird.

@jollydollyirl never heard much about tens machines from other mums but did you ask you midwife team? I imagine they might be able to offer some good advice on makes and models there.

@BCxx also hoping that they don't need to deliver so early for you and baby too. Will they keep monitoring you and baby closely over next few months?

@unluckyinlife moving when pregnant, i can't think of anything more tiring. Though a new home and with a baby on the way soon it all sounds exciting too.

@Rowanandremy that reminds me i still need to pack a bag for my toddler too.

My original plan was to give birth without a birth partner/husband present, as he needs to look after our little boy but now I'm thinking maybe he should drop him off at mums house and then come to the hospital. Thoughts?

unluckyinlife · 02/06/2023 06:17

@DesertSnow I'm sorry to hear about the placental issues. But glad your TORCH screening was positive. Hoping baby is able to stay and grow inside for longer yet.

I was born myself at 30 weeks after my mum started having placental issues at 25 plus weeks.

Other than some minor things unrelated, you would never know I was born prematurely. In a weird circle of life event, the neonatal consultant was doing the rounds on my ward when I gave birth to my son, she recognised my name and came in the meet him and it was very special.

Xx

unluckyinlife · 02/06/2023 06:23

I clearly was panicking subconsciously yesterday and despite struggling to stay up until 9/10 the last few weeks, I was laid wide awake at 3am.

I think because I was worried baby was quiet yesterday which didn't help, he or she must have known they worried me as they've been dancing around this morning.

I'm excited to see them, but as always terrified of bad news. On a lighter note, I'm certain this baby is going to flash us at one of these scand and reveal its gender which I'm desperate to keep a surprise!

After leaving the 19 and 20 week scans both my husband and I were certain we both know what he were having. Until it transpired he is certain baby is a boy and I'm certain it's a girl.

I genuinely am so excited that I honestly don't mind, but since my whole family think it's a boy also it would be nice to be the one thats right 😁

BCxx · 02/06/2023 07:25

@unluckyinlife hopefully you can avoid seeing at the scans and get to have a nice surprise. Part of me wishes I didn’t know and could get that surprise now, although I don’t think I could have contained myself until this point 😂 If you want to cry at a birth vlog Jennifer Joy on YouTube has the best one and she didn’t know what she was having, the moment they say what it is and watching their reaction is so lovely 😢

unluckyinlife · 02/06/2023 07:55

@BCxx ill watch it on the drive back home today so my husband can't see my tears lol. This pregnancy I've been such a crier!

The surprise is the best thing I think I've had for thr pregnancy, but I wouldn't have been able to if I didn't already have one of each I think! Only downside is I'm struggling to buy anything neutral 2nd hand and I've had to think of names for both genders! Think we're set on a our top 2 girls name and no idea for a boy 😂xx

overwork · 02/06/2023 09:51

Ooh we're the same, 2 really strong contenders for a girl, didn't take long at all. But we're stumped with boys.

unluckyinlife · 02/06/2023 10:23

So my scan went well, my placenta is behaving and my waters are within normal range. All babies measurements are relatively normal, it's estimated weight is slightly low but all my babies birth weights have been. Baby's weight is currently 2lb 7. Which is 28th Percentile but they are happy to leave the baby inside unless it drops to 10%.
A little worrying as it has dropped from 48 percentile at 20 weeks to 28 percentile at 28 weeks but hopefully it stays on track x

unluckyinlife · 02/06/2023 10:24

Forgot to add, baby attempted to ruin the gender surprise but I managed to look away fast enough, my mum is now fully aware of what we're having with no doubt whatsoever but she won't mention it so the secret is safe for now! Xx

MinnieFirstTimeMum · 02/06/2023 11:23

@DesertSnow sorry to hear you still have a little uncertainty, but happy to hear you are being looked after. Will keep my fingers crossed for you that little one can stay in for as long as possible x
