AnnieApple123 · 16/05/2023 12:22

Thank you everybody. These are such touching messages which brought tears to my eyes.

Our little boy arrived on Sunday, just narrowly missing his big brother's third birthday. It was a smooth natural delivery in the end despite him coming feet first and we were able to spend lots of time saying goodbye to him. I’m reluctant to share too much on a public board but will perhaps put some more on the FB group later. Much love to all of you. xx

BCxx · 16/05/2023 12:36

@AnnieApple123 have been thinking about you a lot over the last few days ❤️ hope you’re able to do something for his birthday if you’re well enough and he has a nice day x

airmaxJ · 16/05/2023 15:26

LS888 · 16/05/2023 18:10

@AnnieApple123 been thinking about you this week ❤️ Glad it went as well as it could and you had time to say goodbyes. What a tough time for you. Sending lots of love xx

MinnieFirstTimeMum · 17/05/2023 12:01

@AnnieApple123 I am glad Sunday went with no complications and you had your time to say goodbyes.
Know that you are in your thoughts and remember to be kind to yourself x

AnnieApple123 · 18/05/2023 15:20

Lots of love to all of you. It’s been a week today since we found out our baby had no heartbeat. I know it’s been very hard for everyone and that he won’t be forgotten.

It is time now though for this to go back to being a place to talk about prams and 4D scans and the things that all the rest of you need and deserve space for also. I’ve been an expectant mother wanting to talk about all those things too and hopefully I’ll be one again, as we are already talking about going back to trying (possibly using pre-genetic testing if a genetic cause is found).

@DesertSnow can I leave you in charge?

DesertSnow · 18/05/2023 15:46

@AnnieApple123 I really admire your strength, and I'm glad that you got your time to say your goodbyes with him. He won't be forgotten. Please do feel that you can follow this thread as much or as little as you like, we'll always be happy to hear from you. It's great that you're looking ahead, and I know that you'll be holding your rainbow baby in your arms before too long. Of course, I'm happy to carry on with running the list/starting new threads.

I won't go on about it, but for anyone who isn't on the FB group - we've unfortunately had some potentially not so great news about our little girl, who is measuring small with an especially short femur. I'm waiting on results from TORCH screen and have a scan with FMU to investigate further. Current lead theory is fetal growth restriction due to placental insufficiency. This could mean a number of things but I'm now high risk and have been warned about possibility of stillbirth so have been put on high alert for checking movement. Other potential scenarios include pre-term labour, v. early delivery, dwarfism, downs syndrome, disability. Best case scenario is that she's just a little baby with short legs. It's a really difficult time and a lot to take in. I will keep reading the thread and make note of anyone's updates for the lists (which I enjoy), but I may be a little quiet as a contributor on here for a little bit while I get my head around it all.

Hope everyone is doing ok. Love to all and especially to you @AnnieApple123 x

@AnnieApple123 I admire your strength and ability to carry on 💕

@DesertSnow I am so sorry you are also going through a trying time, do you have ideas on timelines? I hope you get all the support required ♥️

DesertSnow · 18/05/2023 15:57

@MinnieFirstTimeMum Thank you. Should get TORCH results in next few days, FMU scan is in just under 2 weeks as they need to assess growth between scans and to recheck placenta function. Then they'll discuss way forwards.

AnnieApple123 · 18/05/2023 15:57

Thank you @DesertSnow and I’m so sorry that this concern has come up for you. One of my oldest and greatest friends had IUGR with her daughter. She had weekly scans which was a terrible worry. She was induced at 38 weeks though and had a very positive birth experience (far better than most people I know in fact). Her little girl is now coming up for 5 and has had no problems since.

Am always here if you want to chat. I had to do a TORCH screen too and am now very familiar with FMUs. xxx

DesertSnow · 18/05/2023 16:12

@AnnieApple123 thank you for sharing your friend's experience, that gives me hope. And thank you for the offer of talking - even as you're going through such a time, I really appreciate it xxx

MinnieFirstTimeMum · 18/05/2023 16:38

@DesertSnow I am glad they are getting you seen quickly.

I had to have a growth scan last week and that alone was daunting so can't imagine how you are feeling.

overwork · 18/05/2023 18:30

Oh @DesertSnow I'm so sorry to hear this too. What a tough week for you. I hope the scan in 2 weeks time gives you a bit of clarity so that you know what you are dealing with, and as you said, you just have a small baby.
@AnnieApple123 such dignified words from a strong woman. I wish you all the best with your recovery and if you feel up for it, do keep checking in with us

BCxx · 18/05/2023 18:42

@AnnieApple123 hope you’re recovering okay and I’m glad you’re looking to the future. I so hope you get a happy ending to all of this, you so deserve it. Your little boy will always be remembered by all of us 💫

@DesertSnow jeez what a scary time you’re going through too. I actually discovered a new lady on YouTube this week, her name is Emma nightingale and she has a birth vlog of her csection at 36 weeks. She had the same thing with her first child too and the video before the birth vlog goes into a lot more detail about the growth scans etc and it sounds very similar to your situation. Hopefully you get some promising news and she keeps growing for a bit longer 🤞🏻

P1pk · 18/05/2023 21:35

@DesertSnow sorry to hear you're going through this. Hopefully you will get seen to very quickly and get some great advice to put your mind at rest. Sending hugs x

Recoba · 19/05/2023 14:21

@AnnieApple123, I'm so sorry about the loss of your little boy. I hope you can get the space and comfort you need. You are always welcome here.

@DesertSnow, I'm sorry you're having such a worrying time, and I hope you get clarity soon. My friend had restricted growth due to placenta malfunction with her little one, and they eventually had her in for near daily growth scans until baby's head stopped growing, and then she had a planned C-section at around 32 weeks. Her little girl is now 4 and doing wonderfully, I hope that a similarly good outcome is waiting for you.

Anyone else getting Braxton Hicks? Been on a couple of walks recently where I've had a lot of low down pain, have to take deep breaths, though not noticing too much of a tightening across the stomach. I don't remember them starting this early last time, but it feels like the same symptoms I got when going out for walks from about 38 weeks with my first.

P1pk · 20/05/2023 19:28

@Recoba I'm 27 weeks today, not feeling braxton hicks. But I'm a first time mum so not sure what they may feel like until I get then I guess?

I had a slip today, didn't fall hard but fell on side of my hip and hit my head. I have felt baby move since then and I'm not in pain or bruised so hoping all is OK. Do you ladies suggest calling hospital anyways? Or not to bother if I'm OK?

DesertSnow · 20/05/2023 20:08

@MinnieFirstTimeMum It just feels like so far away, when I know it isn't really. But it's been less than a week and I'm already finding it so stressful keeping such a close eye on baby's movements.

Thanks @overwork, @BCxx and @P1pk. @P1pk I'm sorry you fell, that sounds scary. In your position, I think I would call and see what they suggest.

@Recoba Yes, we might be looking at similar. Thanks for sharing the positive outcome. I'm 30 weeks today, hoping we can keep her in there and growing for longer.

ChloeN · 20/05/2023 20:47

@P1pk I would probably phone if it were me! Just for a bit of reassurance more than anything xx

BCxx · 21/05/2023 09:12

@Recoba I didn’t get braxton hicks at all last time but I was really dehydrated a week or two ago when we went out for dinner. We were walking back to the car and I had to stop multiple times because it was doing what I imagine braxton hicks is. When I looked it up after it said dehydration was one of the reasons it could have happened so I’ve tried to drink more since and haven’t had anymore. I think it is normal for some people just to have them even from the end of the second trimester onwards though
