@kingfisher168
The worst bit is, they've asked for my demographic and I'm like, white (ginger skin) Caucasian, zero attributes of Ghanaian heritage (they traced it)

The ladies in fetal health are very confused.

GBS seems common though? I have a risk of passing sickle cell or the trait to my baby, which would then cause more issues for when they had children too. Which is really upsetting

VictoriaBlossom · 20/03/2023 17:13

@Summer022 yeah, and perfumes.
I put my favourite Lancôme on.... may as well have been Charlie red. Blergh, needed to change my clothes!!!

BeaKind · 20/03/2023 17:16

@monsteramunch I am so jealous! That sounds soooo nice! Enjoy it 😊

SillyOldBear3 · 20/03/2023 17:22

@VictoriaBlossom I'll be 34 when baby arrives too, also my first and I don't regret doing it sooner. It means I could get to a better place career wise and also had a lovely 10 years with the OH to enjoy as a couple.

VictoriaBlossom · 20/03/2023 17:24

@SillyOldBear3 yeah I bought my house at 25 and worked so hard to afford the life I have. Have refused help from any family member and OH been with him 4 years but met him 9 years ago, but I pied him off and said he was too young. (7 year age gap)
Now look at me, preggers with his baby and in the process of buying our family home 😂

SillyOldBear3 · 20/03/2023 17:35

@VictoriaBlossom Aw l I love that 😅 I definitely think things happen when they're supposed to!

DmcinT · 20/03/2023 17:37

38 here having first and we would deff say we’ve never regretted not having kids sooner (so far anyways). Been with my husband since we were 15 but had a whole world to travel and careers to build. We are over the moon to still have this exciting chapter of our life’s to look forward to.

VictoriaBlossom · 20/03/2023 17:37

@SillyOldBear3 so it's a bit weird because I met him buying a set of wheels off him for my car. One night I raced him (yes, I raced him I'm a chav) and he told his best mate "I'm gonna marry that girl some day she's literally perfect"

No ring though.... still waiting for that one.
Love at first sight for him i recon.
💁🏼‍♀️ can't better perfection can you 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

VictoriaBlossom · 20/03/2023 17:42

@DmcinT I love that! Not many people are still together from such a young age, obviously a great match to grow together

monsteramunch · 20/03/2023 17:47

BeaKind · 20/03/2023 17:16

@monsteramunch I am so jealous! That sounds soooo nice! Enjoy it 😊

Ah thanks! Normally I'd say I'll have a drink for you but it'll be gaviscon 😂

Koalawhala · 20/03/2023 18:22

Had my booking appointment today, bloods taken etc. Will be consultant led due to age (42). Also to take aspirin from 13 weeks to reduce pre-eclampsia risk, again down to age!

CB23CB · 20/03/2023 18:40

@VictoriaBlossom
I'm 34 will be 35 (just) when baby is here.
Been with husband 16 years and don't regret waiting. We've travelled, relocated for work, bought houses, worked hard in our jobs.
People stopped asking me about 5 years in if we'd have children.
Always wanted them and the time is now!
Also MySpace, blast from the past!!

I've felt nauseous all day today. My first day of felling horrible non stop. Eaten a little but the taste in my mouth will not go away at all. It's nasty!

TealDreams · 20/03/2023 19:01

I'm GBS positive too x

NSx · 20/03/2023 19:01

I’ll be 36 not long turned when my baby was born.
I was pregnant when I was 34 but it didn’t work out 💔 …
and before that I spent the last 9 years living in the Middle East (UAE) so I’ve lived my life for me, but I don’t think you can put a time on having a baby. As you can see I tried/planned to have one before now and it wasn't meamt to be!
everyones timelines are different I guess ☺️

NSx · 20/03/2023 19:02

Also regarding GBS, it’s common, many ladies have it, actually a patient in my work just had a baby in January - GBS, baby is perfect 🥰

LaVitesse2022 · 20/03/2023 19:13

I'm 34 and will be just over 35 when (first) baby arrives. Never for a second have I felt old for being a mum at this age - quite the contrary! 😅 I was on the fence in my late 20s, but then got broody as hell! I've been with my partner 18 years this summer, only now is the right time though.

redavocado · 20/03/2023 19:17

I was 31 when DD was born and I felt like such a baby compared to the rest of my NCT group! I'll be 36 when this one makes an appearance and it doesn't feel particularly old or young.

Chanteuse · 20/03/2023 19:21

I’m 29, will be 30 when baby arrives 💕 I’d have had a baby years ago tbh but I’m glad we waited a bit longer!

VictoriaBlossom · 20/03/2023 19:22

@LaVitesse2022 I would probably go for another. As long as OH doesn't have dodgy blood and causes issues with the bubba.
I'm an only child and have vowed to not have an only child because we just don't see the world the same way as a child with siblings.

LaVitesse2022 · 20/03/2023 19:29

@VictoriaBlossom I'm an only child too and my ideal number would be 3! But that's me dreaming in the comfort of my quiet home - ask me again when this one is here! 😄

AlongcameLainey · 20/03/2023 19:43

@katherine123x yes I’m literally zonked as soon as my almost 3 y/o is in bed!

I’ve dtd a couple of times since finding out and had the tiniest amount of spotting after the last time - was really worried when it happened so not done it again since 😂😨

firstlittlefrazzleontheway · 20/03/2023 20:04

@Summer022 I'm 10 weeks today and over the last few days I have started to feel better- it's not all the time but there is light at the end of the tunnel

kingfisher168 · 20/03/2023 20:06

Hope it'll all clear out for both of us @TealDreams by the time of labour, but I read that you're taken care of a little bit more because of it, so don't have to wait until your contractions are this much apart etc etc, or until your waters break, so that will make me feel a bit less nervous (as I am 1 hour away from hospital). Always good to look for the positives 😃

kingfisher168 · 20/03/2023 20:08

Thank you @NSx for the reassurance. I do trust it'll all be okay as too common so healthcare professionals know how to manage it. So not worried about that too much 🙂

TealDreams · 20/03/2023 20:09

@kingfisher168 yes, and we are lucky that we know. As it's not routine testing so many people don't know they have it and are therefore more at risk IMO! Xx
