@katherine123x I've over eaten like max and only gained 1lb between 10&12 weeks 👍🏻

BeaKind · 24/03/2023 06:14

@Needtobuildabridge lovely scan pic 🥰 so happy everything was ok for you.

@LaVitesse2022 i had my telephone booking appointment last Wednesday and hadn’t heard anything so called the ultrasound dept yesterday. They were lovely and said they had a stack of referrals to work through. She checked and I was there and booked me an appointment on the phone. Glad I called because she said it was quite busy and they’re wasn’t many slots.

I did tell them I ovulated late but they’ve gone by my LMP so I’ll technically be 12 + 2 but I’ll actually be 10 + 1. On the NHS website it says you can have it from 10 weeks so it should be alright. I’m kind of pleased as (as long as everything’s ok) we’ll be able to tell people sooner. 🤞

NSx · 24/03/2023 06:41

@Needtobuildabridge lovely scan pic 😍 my 12 week scan is when I’m 13 weeks and seems like a lifetime away 😭 …
with regards to weight I feel I’ve put weight on as I haven’t stepped foot inside a gym, my boobs feel huge and my stomach is a bit round however I’ve been basically sick everytime I eat 😭😭😭
however have probably been snacking a bit more so who knows really 😅

Hopefulx · 24/03/2023 06:59

@Needtobuildabridge ah what a lovely scan pic. Literally perfect 🥰 you must be so so happy.

I’ve gained half a stone 🙈😂 I’m still quite petite but where I’m small you can notice half a stone. We told the in laws on Mother’s Day and my MIL said “I can notice the weight you have gained around your face” I was like cheers 👍🏽 I’ve been trying to avoid everyone I haven’t told yet, like my friends, as my weight is normally pretty consistent so they would just know straight away if they saw me

Summer022 · 24/03/2023 07:14

I’m sure I probably sound really silly but I haven’t managed to pluck up the confidence to go for a private scan, but I’m desperate to know if everything is ok and wish I had done sooner. 12 week scan is still over two weeks away and I just feel like I’m living in limbo up until that point. How on earth do you pluck up the courage for an early scan..I know it sounds daft but it feels so final to me like it’s either going to be ok or it’s not. I wish I had been brave enough to have one as I know the risks are much lower after seeing a heartbeat at 8 weeks. I’m just a mix of emotions and want it all to be ok - sorry for my waffling 🥺

12wk scan in an hour , nervous 😬 xx

natalik · 24/03/2023 07:34

@TealDreams it will be great 💖💖💖

firstlittlefrazzleontheway · 24/03/2023 08:03

@Summer022 I was feeling very anxious on Wednesday so booked a private scan for the same day (3 hours after booking) I found booking it last minute helped as I didn't have too much time for the anxiety to build

JoanneV · 24/03/2023 08:06

@OrionNebula @DmcinT ireland here too. I'll be 12 weeks 3 days for mine. Npt for another 2 and a half weeks. Going to go public. Excited that there's a couple of us on this thread.

@Needtobuildabridge that is a brilliant pic you must be delighted.

Good luck to everyone having their scans soon.

VictoriaBlossom · 24/03/2023 08:09

@Summer022 don't see it as anxiety see it as excitement for confirmation.
I'm thinking of booking a scan for next week, just to check progress due to very few symptoms
My boobs are still sore and that's been my only symptom that's consistent. Which worries the shit out of me.
Get one booked last minute and then you'll give yourself a good nights sleep x

OrionNebula · 24/03/2023 08:31

@JoanneV glad there's another Irish person Smile

I just got my fetal harmony results back. All good 😊

And we're having another little girl!

cruciverbalista · 24/03/2023 08:33

@LaVitesse2022 my midwife had to chase for me as my paper had fallen through the cracks. I'm booked in now for 12+6 in about ten days.

Saturnsmoon · 24/03/2023 08:46

Ladies, have you been taking paracetamol during pregnancy? I’ve been avoiding it as I found conflicting advice online but I have a banging headache and about to make my way to the airport and really don’t fancy navigating it with a pounding head.

firstlittlefrazzleontheway · 24/03/2023 08:48

@Saturnsmoon I have taken it a couple of times when desperate with an awful headache- I had a scan on Wednesday that showed healthy baby wriggling away

Koalawhala · 24/03/2023 09:02

Lovely scan pic @Needtobuildabridge! pleased that all is ok for you.

I’m still waiting for 12 week scan letter to come through (I’m 9+1), and letter for first consultant appt. Have booked a private NIPT test for 11 weeks though so will have a scan then.

Saturnsmoon · 24/03/2023 09:06

@firstlittlefrazzleontheway thank you, yes I think I might just take one. Can’t imagine, using them sparingly will do to much harm. Normally I’d try to rest to get rid of if but that’s not an option today and it’s making me feel sick 🤢.

How did it go? Are your dates where you thought they would be?

VanillaOat · 24/03/2023 10:56

Hi ladies please could I join? Been lurking for a few weeks and finally plucked up the courage to post.. Just haven’t wanted to tempt fate 🫣

I’m 29, currently 11 weeks 4 days with my third back-to-back pregnancy since September, following a missed miscarriage and chemical pregnancy. This will be my first child, so the anxiety has been real but I’ve had two reassurance scans already due to my history at 6 and 9 weeks, which have been great! My dating scan is next Friday when I will be 12 weeks 4 days!

Just wondering whether anybody has been experiencing insomnia? Also is anyone’s nausea particularly bad in the evenings when you’re trying to get to sleep?

I've had a couple of nights where I wake up in the early hours and can't sleep. Really annoying.

My nausea is worst at nights. I'm starving all day and then struggle to eat my tea/dinner!

Have your dates at your scans been what you expected or have they changed any?

VictoriaBlossom · 24/03/2023 11:19

@Saturnsmoon maybe try aspirin before paracetamol if you're looking at the guidance online. After seeing the court papers and evidence going through in the US I won't be taking paracetamol (tylenol) I found my headaches have been worse when I've cut caffeine and sugar out but out the other side of it now.
Do you know what's triggering them?

VanillaOat · 24/03/2023 11:30

@ttcttc same as me!! Really struggling with food, if I don’t eat exactly what I fancy immediately then I go off the food and can’t stomach anything else, so I just lay in bed uncomfortably!

So I used the first day that I started bleeding with my chemical as CD01 and on my first scan I was measuring 4 days behind… but by the time I had my second scan, I’d grown to 5 days ahead, so overall a day earlier than I’d calculated.

At each scan the nurses have told me that at this stage, not to take the dates/size too seriously and that the 12 week one will be the most accurate!

Have your dates matched up?

AlongcameLainey · 24/03/2023 11:31

@VictoriaBlossom im with you on the McDonalds breakfast muffins!

They stop me from feeling so nauseous throughout the day so I have had already had two this week 😂 with an extra hash brown each time too 🤦🏻‍♀️

VictoriaBlossom · 24/03/2023 11:40

@AlongcameLainey honestly it's all I want to eat all day every day.
Had one delivered to bed yesterday by my bf as it was my birthday. I felt like a right princess 😂

AlongcameLainey · 24/03/2023 11:42

@VictoriaBlossom ahh happy belated birthday!!

Haha I had a serious fight on my hands this morning trying to keep myself from getting another one on the way to work 😂😂

Summer022 · 24/03/2023 12:05

No way 🤣 This morning I scoffed a McDonald’s McMuffin with three hash browns 🤣 the only thing helping me to not feel sick too
