@ttcttc I’m 7+1. Funnily enough I’ve felt a bit funny since writing that this morning and really craving salty foods! 😂 I spoke too soon.

@Smiffette 💨 one of the more glamourous symptoms 😝

@Happyhappy39soon40 so sorry you’re going through this. It’s really upsetting that you’ve had to wait so long for the scan. Have you had heavy bleeding at all or mostly spotting? X

SillyOldBear3 · 13/03/2023 12:20

@BeaKind @VictoriaBlossom I'm also not feeling sick at all.. I am more hungry than usual and feel a bit bloated, but no sickness. My only symptoms are tiredness and sore boobs.
I feel like I'm gaining weight as I'm eating much more than usual.. 🙈

To me it's heavy, but it doesn't fill a pad. There are times when it is more than just spotting. There are tiny bits of clot now and again. The colour varies from bright red to dark red and brown. Honestly I am fed up.

Anyone suffering with reslly really bad headaches? I’m 9+4 and they started on Saturday and not really left. I was actually sick last night with them and currently laid in bed with a migraine patch on my head 😩 any remedies?

I feel you! I've had migraines on and off since the start and I'm nine weeks now 😞

Just keep reminding myself it's all worth it but bloody hell migraines are horrible things aren't they?

I've been using the kool n soothe head strips which it sounds like you already have. Other than that just paracetamol (doctor said this is fine) and I do find that drinking more water than normal helps, though means I'm weeing approximately every two minutes!

Rest also helps as does reduced screen time but that's not always possible obviously especially working full time. I'm lucky I work for myself from home, it must be so so tough for people who have to be out and about.

So no magic remedies here but lots of solidarity!

Hi all, the doctor has said I have an overactive thyroid - not so much that they're especially worried (and they said they can tell from previous bloods that it's always been a little close to overactive) but I wonder if anyone else has / had the same and has any tips on keeping it in check?

My BMI is around 22 and my diet is very healthy but I'm exhausted all the time since pregnancy with headaches / migraines regularly too, so really struggling to do exercise. Tbh I'm not doing any at all which I feel bad about as I should be at least walking but at the moment (nine weeks) I'm really having to pick my battles as I feel so rubbish and just haven't got it in me!

BabyG2loading · 13/03/2023 17:53

@Happyhappy39soon40 I can’t imagine how hard this is for you and how stressful. I’m sure you are totally exhausted. I hope the days go quickly for you until Thursday, and have my fingers crossed that all will be well. I’m sending positive thoughts and vibes your way 💕

SillyOldBear3 · 13/03/2023 18:05

@Happyhappy39soon40 sorry to hear this, I'll keep everything crossed for you for good news at Thursday's scan.

@BeaKind I'm also not sick or nauseous. Quite the contrary, been feeling ravenous. Main symptom has been enlarged breasts and sore nipples. I'm 9+1w today

VictoriaBlossom · 13/03/2023 19:50

@SillyOldBear3 so I have decided to get on the scales and I'm 6lb heavier than I was pre pregnancy. So a bit heavier than I should be. But I've been told that BFing uses so many calories a lot of women slim back down to pre pregnancy weight within months (can anyone agree with that statement)

I just wanna eat carbs
Crisps, sandwiches, toast, noodles

And Milka Happy Cow chocolate

Smiffette · 13/03/2023 20:06

@VictoriaBlossom I can say that from my experience with DD who I exclusively BF I lost the weight Ila lot quicker than I expected, and usually I have to work hard to keep weight off. I ate anything I wanted but I would say I was back to prepegnancy weight at 3 months. I think if I had been more active it would have been sooner but she was a lockdown baby so wasn't a lot of going out and socialising.

At this point in my last pregnancy I hadn't put on any weight, but this time round I am 5lbs up already! I blame it on the multiple wake ups a night meaning no energy for the gym in the morning and also want lots of savoury food. wfh doesn't help with the eating!

Summer022 · 13/03/2023 20:13

Booking appointment on Friday, scan on Saturday and then telling my parents on Sunday. Not telling anybody else til 12 weeks but feeling strangely anxious about telling them! I have no idea why 😆

VictoriaBlossom · 13/03/2023 20:21

@Summer022 my mum knows and is coming to my 8w scan tomorrow. Telling in laws on Sunday. Got his mum a mug that says "this mum is being promoted to grandma" she loves sentimental sh*t like that.
I have told my best friend but that's it. I was reading all the percentages about once you see a heartbeat your pregnancy is something like 75% likely to survive, then past 8 weeks likes like 85%

Definitely feels weird thinking about how and when to tell people. I'm dreading telling work. I was kicking off asking for a pay rise 6 weeks ago before I knew I was pregnant. 😂

VictoriaBlossom · 13/03/2023 20:23

@Smiffette I'm hoping that's the case with me. I feel like a house side already

Alexandra07 · 13/03/2023 20:37

@VictoriaBlossom I exclusively breastfed my dd, in my case, I didn't go to my prepregnancy weight, still kept some kgs but probably because I was eating so much during the first months. My DD wasn't sleeping, I was exhausted so I was eating a lot to gain energy. Probably I would have gained a lot more weight if I wasn't breastfeeding.

Good luck with all the scans coming up!

I called to check availability for my nipt test and suddenly everything seems real. I am 7w1d and at 7w4d bleeding started when I had my last miscarriage. I just want to fast forward to the 12 weeks scan!

Lol at the “sentimental sh*t” 😂
I’m sure she’ll love it

@Summer022 I feel anxious about telling parents too, not sure why!

Baby1023 · 13/03/2023 21:20

For everyone feeling nauseous, I’ve just had a solero exotic and it really was good!

VictoriaBlossom · 13/03/2023 21:42

@Baby1023 they're the best, pregnant or not

Baby1023 · 13/03/2023 21:53

@VictoriaBlossom i don’t think I’ve had one in about 20 years! 😂

VictoriaBlossom · 13/03/2023 22:01

@Alexandra07 will you have nipt as standard or are you paying?

Alexandra07 · 13/03/2023 22:25

@VictoriaBlossom in my hospital they offer the nipt only if the combined is higher than 1 in 150. I will confirm with the midwife the exact procedure. But if I have to wait for the combined test results and then a different appointment for nipt and wait longer for the results, it will be too long and stressful. Even if it's lower than 1 in 150, i would still want to know the risk using a nipt. 1 in 200 or 1 in 500 is still high for me.

I am also 41, so higher risk. Luckily I can afford to pay it. I didn't do the nipt with my first one. I hope I'll have the results before the 12 week scan so I can announce afterwards. Bonus, I'll know already the baby's gender!
