Ugh, I have to take DC to another child's 5th birthday shortly, I'm so tired, feel like I'm dying. Nothing I want to do less right now, and can't even have the usual prosecco to get through it!

Jealousofchiliheeler · 05/03/2023 14:03

Congratulations on the scan results @Natacat another lovely scan picture!

CB23CB · 05/03/2023 14:59

Ahh got my 3+ on a CB test this morning. Think it's time for me to try and chill now.
4 weeks until my booking appointment, unsure whether to get a reassurance scan after a previous MC.

Exact same as me. Don't want to preempt anything but looking like I'll be 12-14 week for my scan. Just feels forever away!

I know its way too early to be buying a travel system but I need to get my head around them so I know how much to save (we are on a tight budget). My sisters bought iCandys but they seem so expensive. Would love to buy everything new ideally but with the prices I just don't know. Saw a couple for around £400 but its hard to judge how much quality and safety you're comprising by going for the cheaper brands. Anyone have any insight?

Ss32 · 05/03/2023 17:40

@JoanneV im sure other people will have good reviews but, out of my friend group, everyone who bought a travel system seemed unhappy with the car seat and ended up replacing both the car seat and pram by 6 months. We have a bugaboo and my 2 year old still uses it now and it will then become baby’s

PeopleAreToads · 05/03/2023 18:06

@JoanneV Ive been thinking about this and have no idea where to start or how you'd pick one!!

MeganC104 · 05/03/2023 18:15

I never used a travel system. I had a very sturdy venicci shadow pram for £80 on marketplace which I still use now and a Joie 360 which I still use and will likely get another Joie 360 for baby 2 because they are brilliant. Not sure what to do about pram yet because we will need something for baby and toddler

ukMummyof1 · 05/03/2023 18:20

I've found that the best stroller I've used is a maclarren, car seat is a joie I-size spin 360 and only ever went through one pram but it was great which was a silver cross. I've been through loads of strollers and car seats so can definitely recommend those but only had one pram so someone else might have more experience with a different brand that may be better🥰

katherine123x · 05/03/2023 18:29

Where do you even go these days so you can actually look at prams??!! #bringbackmothercare

Ss32 · 05/03/2023 18:38

John Lewis have quite a lot in that you can test drive. I can’t remember what our infant car seat was, it’s the Joie that lays flat.
She moved into the Joie 360 isize just after her first birthday and hopefully I can reuse both for baby

Jealousofchiliheeler · 05/03/2023 18:47

We have a baby jogger city GT which served us well and we will reuse. You can get a bassinet for when they are little and also can get an attachment to put car seat on if needed but didn't use that very often. Pushchair wasn't parent facing and it's on the bigger size but worked well for us.

FirstTimeMamaB · 05/03/2023 18:48

Hey ladies, wanted to check in as today we had our early scan!

We have a little human in there, measuring at 6 weeks 5 days, so about 5 days behind where we thought we were. We could see its little heart flickering away.

Was absolutely magical!!! Our due date now is 24th October. So excited and relieved. The anxiety was just getting so on top of me. Feel like I can relax a bit now! 👶🏼🥹❤️

Hi Everyone!

So much to catch up on on this thread, and so many lovely scan pictures - congratulations to you all!

I posted in thread 2 after having an early scan, thinking I was 6+3 but only measuring 4+6 (with identical twins!).

This has had me freaking out so decided to pay for another early scan today, and low and behold 2 healthy babies now measuring 8+2! Only a couple days off my dates!

So relieved and can finally start thinking this is going to happen! Already have a 3 and a 1 year old, but after 4 early miscarriages last year its so difficult to be positive!!

@FirstTimeMamaB awww love this ❤️ congrats. Time for anxiety level can get knocked down a peg or two 😁

@DaniRose94 wowwww how do they know it's identical at such an early point? Is it to do with the sac where they grow? So glad your measurements are right where they need to be. Twins and 2 kids, you'll be very busy this time next year 😄

Massive congratulations to all the ladies with their successful scan photos!

DaniRose94 · 05/03/2023 20:14

Thank you @VictoriaBlossom !

Both of them are in the same amniotic sac! But have their own yolk sacs and placentas so are mo/di twins!

Going to be a very hectic time but so many happy times to look forward to!

VictoriaBlossom · 05/03/2023 20:19

@DaniRose94 made up for you. Congratulations xx

katherine123x · 05/03/2023 20:32

@FirstTimeMamaB @DaniRose94 absolutely love seeing all these pictures !!!
Congratulations ladies xx

Koalawhala · 05/03/2023 20:44

Congratulations @FirstTimeMamaB and @DaniRose94! lovely hearing about such positive scans x

JJM13 · 05/03/2023 20:44

I’ve had strong pregnancy symptoms including nausea heartbeat at 6 weeks on nhs scan to rule out ectopic today on private scan at 8 weeks which i booked before i had the 6 week one. No heartbeat . MMC awaiting an appointment to talk about what’s next . I was told good heartbeat and nausea miscarriage risk was well down and yet it’s happened anyway 😓

Alexandra07 · 05/03/2023 20:47

@DaniRose94 congratulations!

@JoanneV my parents in law paid for our travel system. Things to consider: will the pram fit in your boot? That's the bulkiest part.
I ended up replacing the car seat from the travel system with a cabriofix, it was much safer and lasted for around 18 months before my DD was too big for it. It's easier also to have a cardseat you can just take out of the car and attach it to the frame if needed.
We bought one of the Cossato travel systems, mainly because of its small size, our boot at the time was tiny! Very sturdy but the pram was too short and my DD didn't fit there after 4 months... She still couldn't sit up, but I couldn't use the pram anymore. She was 50th percentile. Worth checking the length of the bassinets.

I got ours from a baby show, a lot of companies were there so you could compare and had some good offers.

Alexandra07 · 05/03/2023 20:52

@JJM13 I am so sorry 😥 I had a similar experience last time, 7 weeks bleeding and scan showed all ok, miscarriage at 8 weeks. There is no reassurance with the early scans and sometimes it is harder after having seen the heart biting.
At least you found out early enough to arrange the next steps and prepare yourself. Sending you a big hug x

Koalawhala · 05/03/2023 20:57

So sorry @JJM13. What a shock for you after seeing the heartbeat on the first scan. I hope you can take it easy over the next few days while next steps are arranged xx

JJM13 · 05/03/2023 21:18

@Alexandra07 @Koalawhala its really hard after the early scan to get this news , in some ways i wish i had never had any scans as it gave me false positivity. I think i’ve felt so awful because things were never quite right with the pregnancy. I just hope that what happens next doesn’t take too long . we have a 3 year old and are 38 so i’m not sure we will try again after this .

adayatatime23 · 05/03/2023 21:26

@DaniRose94 im 9+3 with Mo/Di twins too 😅 I mean the private sonographer said they’re definitely twins but didn’t specify which type, I’ve self diagnosed myself hahaha. A 1/250 chance, crazy times ahead!
