Anyone getting sharp shooting pains down below? Feels like in my vagina 🙈 sorry! They only started today but it happens now and again and it’s really freaking me out…..just another worry to add to the king list 😩

Summer022 · 04/03/2023 21:47

6+3 and nausea has kicked in. Can’t stop retching. Went to nandos earlier and the chunks of chicken in the wrap made me retch too. 😖 Never normally a nauseous person so it’s unfamiliar and quite grim 🤢

Fanny daggers! I've not had them yet this pregnancy, but with my daughter I had them quite a lot!

monsteramunch · 04/03/2023 22:06

I'm 8 weeks and unfortunately I'm now getting arse daggers!

Bloated, constipated, sometimes nauseous and a horrible headache a lot of the time.

Still absolutely buzzing obviously and feel so so lucky, but hoping that some of those symptoms ease up as things progress!

Solidarity to other people having some (literally in some cases) pain in the arse symptoms Grin

Happyhappy39soon40 · 04/03/2023 22:29

Thinking am having a MC. Dtd today and when I wipe there was brownish pink blood. Now its turned bright red ( on tissue) and I am starting to have lower abdominal ache (very very mild atm)

Koalawhala · 04/03/2023 22:42

Sorry to hear that @Happyhappy39soon40, that must be really worrying. People do bleed and continue pregnancy though so really hope this is the case for you.
How far along are you? Do you have any scans planned? Take it easy x

monsteramunch · 04/03/2023 22:46

Oh you poor thing @Happyhappy39soon40 I have everything crossed for you that it's not that, we'll all be here here rooting for you and sending you best wishes Flowers

I am 6 weeks days. Got booking in appointment for next Sunday.

VictoriaBlossom · 04/03/2023 23:23

@Alexandra07 yes sorry. MMC

@sassyserenity 7 week's currently no signs of sickness yet, I have real hunger a lot. Wake up at 6am hungry, but don't know what's triggering that. I normally eat one meal a day with a bit of fruit during the day.
In regards to your CB, I did my first and it said 1-2 weeks, and then a 6 days later expected 2-3 and it went straight to 3+ so don't let it get to you

@MeganC104 I'm here with you on that one. Boobs back to normal!

@Summer022 nandos peri chips tasted weird to me today. 😭😭😭 they're my fave

@Happyhappy39soon40 😕 sending good vibes and also lots of ladies bleed and are fine. The next 7 days you need to try and relax, which is going to be easier said than done! Xx

Soda123x · 05/03/2023 05:19

@Happyhappy39soon40 got everything crossed for you 🤞❤ have you contacted your local EPU ?

I too have just been to the toilet and when wiped was pinkish/brown. I rang EPU and they've booked me in for an early scan on weds but said if anything changes or gets worse before then to ring back xx

@Happyhappy39soon40 sorry to hear that, DTD and internal scans can cause bleeding, I hope it's nothing serious. Keeping my fingers crossed for you!

BeaKind · 05/03/2023 07:42

@LaVitesse2022 we used reusable with our first. Loved them (and got a bit addicted buying them as there are so many gorgeous ones out there 😬). We moved when we started weaning though and I started using disposables then and kinda didn’t get back in to the full swing of reusables.

I bought newborn resusables and birth to potty ones. I actually sold my newborn ones so this time we’ll use disposables until baby is big enough for the birth to potty ones which will only be a few weeks anyway. hoping to keep using them a bit longer this time round 🤞

NSx · 05/03/2023 09:18

Good morning everyone 🤍

how are u all doing?

@Happyhappy39soon40 ive heard DTD can bring on bleeding. I’ve tentatively avoided it for this reason as I can’t be bothered with the anxiety it can cause.
I hope you’re ok & you can get some reassurance soon 🤍✨ sending big hugs x

SnookyPook · 05/03/2023 09:28

Morning all! Just taken me ages to catch up with this thread! 😂

@Happyhappy39soon40 I got this after DTD in my first pregnancy - it can bring on some cramping too if you orgasm. Really hope that's all it is for you. I've avoided so far this time as it did cause me a bit of anxiety but it's perfectly normal and shouldn't be linked to MC (so even if you do sadly have one please know that it wasn't this that caused it)

I'm planning to bf again. It was a very emotional ride with DS as he had a bad tongue tie and it really affected my supply and we had to combi feed etc. I found pumping so stressful as I never produced much and the whole thing really got me down. As others have said, I think in part it was because I'd had a very set image of our feeding journey (despite trying not to!). After the TT was snipped (..a second time) things finally picked up and we ended up having a lovely bf journey until 22 months when I forced weaning a bit as my periods hadn't come back.

To me, getting a boob out is far easier than all the prep and sterilising etc. Especially as we cosleep so my own sleep fared loads better when bf! However, from personal experience I know it isn't always straightforward so I will try to be gentle on myself again if it isn't perfect this time round. Would be lovely to experience all going ok though it possible.

LaVitesse2022 · 05/03/2023 09:33

Thank you @PrimarilyParented and @BeaKind , great to hear you had good experiences with reusable on the whole. I intend to use the birth to potty ones but for the first couple of weeks or so might use newborn disposables just to settle in (I heard having a newborn can be quite a shock to the system, who would've known 😬)

LaVitesse2022 · 05/03/2023 09:34

@Happyhappy39soon40 I've got my fingers crossed it's not the worst and you'll hear good news on your scan next week 🤍🍀

PrimarilyParented · 05/03/2023 10:35

@LaVitesse2022 i had birth to potty and used them from week 2 onwards, but I had a big baby (8lb14) and he outgrew them before potty training, not because he was too big (he was tall and slim) but because they didn’t hold enough and he was having to be changed constantly. I had some little lambs for night time when he was a baby that were ok, but they were sized ones for newborn. I gave them to a friend who loved them but I found they did leak sometimes at night.

the major advantage of disposables for me was that I never ended up with an all up the back poo explosion. The worst nappies only ever leaked very slightly at the sides and this was awesome. I had plenty of friends whose own outfits were ruined by poo explosions, but I never had this worry on a day out.

PrimarilyParented · 05/03/2023 10:41

@Happyhappy39soon40 i really hope the bleeding has stopped for you and that you’ve been able to contact EPU. I went last weekend after some bleeding and they booked me in even on a Sunday, so hopefully you can get through to yours.

Jealousofchiliheeler · 05/03/2023 11:03

@Happyhappy39soon40 hope all is ok

Jealousofchiliheeler · 05/03/2023 11:21

Re. feeding, BF with my first which was largely ok, DC had jaundice in hospital and I started combi feeding because I was desperate to get home. I practically had to beg midwives for formula because anytime we switched to just breastfeeding jaundice got worse and I didn't want DC admitted to SCBU. But they were really reluctant to let me and kept saying oh it will make it harder to BF. Utter bollocks. Once we got home we were trying to carry on with combined feeding (formula and expressed milk) as well as BF. Within a few days total rejection of all bottles and I spent a fortune trying to find one that worked, but only ever taken with extreme reluctance if I wasn't there. DC just really really liked the boob (in fact still does, uses them like a stress ball which is not so fun now they are more tender!) So I gave up pumping fairly soon because not a lot of point, just restarted as I went back to work as I had some mild mastitis.

Anyway BF definitely more convenient than sterilising bottle but pay off for me was less sleep and harder to have any solo time so would probably like to try sharing some feeds if we can! I'm not overly bothered about formula, my very pragmatic GP at the time told me that lots of the studies are really old and wouldn't get published now. But I've come to the conclusion that babies just do their own thing and you have to work with them!

PeopleAreToads · 05/03/2023 12:05

Had my early scan this morning, everything in the right place and a strong heart beat. Actually starting to let myself believe this is all real now!

Dates are a few days further on than LMP suggested, but I ovulate early so not surprised at that. Due date now 19th October

Ss32 · 05/03/2023 13:08

@Jealousofchiliheeler i think the last line sums it up! You can make all the plans in the world but baby just makes their own rules anyway 😂

Natacat · 05/03/2023 13:35

Had my early scan today. Everything in the right place and a lovely flickering heartbeat straight away.

I’m 8+3 so 3 days ahead of what I thought which is nice and it was all fine abdominally scanning.

it’s definitely reassured me after a couple of bouts of pink discharge and sudden disappearance of symptoms.

we got to tell the in laws on our way home which was amazing too

Due October 2023 - thread 3
LWestYorks · 05/03/2023 13:43

@Natacat how lovely - we are the same 8+3 I had an early scan on Thursday! Glad everything went well! I’m worrying today though as don’t feel nausea/tired etc and have done for weeks. It’s like my symptoms have disappeared:-(

Natacat · 05/03/2023 13:49

@LWestYorks that was the main reason I was anxious, my sickness disappeared like a switch was flipped a couple of days ago but in fact all was fine.
The scan was done by an obstetrician and she said it’s pretty common at 8 weeks for that to happen
