@New2thisss I'm 7+6 and my nausea pretty much went away this week. Still have sore boobs, especially when I wake up, and come 4pm I'm tired and need a nap 😅 Also thirsty constantly, which for me was the first symptom to appear (never thirsty in Winter). With the nausea it could be that our bodies just got used to the higher levels of hormones.

Alexandra07 · 04/03/2023 09:22

@Chanteuse I was expressing almost daily up to around 6-8 months. You have to wait for breastfeeding to be established before expressing, a few weeks I think, but it's long time since I did it. There are a lot of breastfeeding support Facebook pages worth joining for the tips and support.
I used an electric pump. It was a double one but only used it as single. I made the mistake to buy a set of 6 bottles for feeding, my DD rejected them. She would only use latex tests, not silicon. I got a lot of free bottles from boots or other companies. Don't buy a big set unless you know your little one likes them, you will receive some free to try.
Having frozen breast milk was very handy when I was unwell and couldn't feed her. But she would still prefer me over the bottle, she wouldn't take it if I was around.

@Alexandra07 thank you so much that’s really helpful! 💕

MrsL22 · 04/03/2023 10:22

Hey. Wondering I could please join this thread 🥰
Currently 7+1 with baby #1. Had two early reassurance scans so far due to previous loss and we detected a heartbeat on Wednesday 🥰
Can finally get excited.
although currently suffering with nausea that’s becoming quite debilitating. I’m having to eat something every hour just to keep it at bay 🤮

blebbleb · 04/03/2023 10:43

@Chanteuse I expressed last pregnancy as my son was too premature and small to latch. I personally wouldn't do it this time around as it was very detrimental to my mental health, and I suffered from poor supply and blocked ducts but I wasn't able to breastfeed. I think if you're able to breastfeed first I would concentrate on establishing that before thinking about expressing. If you're feeding frequently you might not have the time/energy for expressing too.

Chanteuse · 04/03/2023 11:12

@blebbleb thank you! I would be establishing anyway for a few weeks but just going on the experience of others I know they found it really difficult to be completely responsible for feeding and it’s just something I want to look into! Def good to get pros and cons!

VictoriaBlossom · 04/03/2023 11:15

@overgrowngrass cute birthday for you, what about the botanic gardens? I went there a few years ago and was so lovely.

mariamari · 04/03/2023 11:17

Thanks @JoanneV - I’ve been rubbing them, stretching them, will try more magnesium… it’s so strange I never expected feet to be a thing! I hope you managed to get more rest?

Mornings have been the worse for me, with intense nausea, but I am hoping next week (I’ll be 8w+4) will be easier as I’ll be hosting a yoga group & needing to offer practice first thing 😬

JoanneV · 04/03/2023 11:33

@mariamari i used to get quite bad restless legs before and i used a magnesium spray before bed aswell as tablets. I did eventually, a couple more hours. Hope you did too.

I'm 7 weeks today cannot wait to get past 8, think I'll feel less anxious about mc then.

EMcG3 · 04/03/2023 12:09

Our family bottle fed and it was excellent for us! My husband and I wanted to share care evenly and this seemed like the route of least resistance. I never found bottles a particular faff and I really didn't want to do anything more with my body after pregnancy and birth.

Koalawhala · 04/03/2023 12:26

I breastfed my first two for a long time but would love to try a bit more of combined feeding this time. I’d love for my girls to have a chance to feed the baby bottles as I remember doing this for my youngest brother and loving it!

I always found bottle feeding/expressing tricky with my DD’s and just breastfed as it was easiest but determined to give it more of a go this time.

Jayjay08 · 04/03/2023 12:34

Hi, I’m also due in October - IVF pregnancy! Any of you good with the Ramzi theory? What could this be at 6weeks 1 day?

Same. I don't find it a hassle at all.

Natacat · 04/03/2023 13:35

Got my reassurance scan tomorrow, can’t come soon enough.
sickness completely disappeared yesterday ☹️ still have sore boobs but just feel different so I’m not sure what sort of outcome we will be looking at.

Anyone had their sickness disappear suddenly and had a good outcome?

I’m 7+6 today.
Feel like my anxiety is getting the better of me, 1 week ago I was super worried about hiking and this week I’m super worried that the scan will see nothing at all.

never had help with anxiety or anything but feel that now may be the time to try and get some

LaVitesse2022 · 04/03/2023 14:39

@Natacat I'm exactly 7+6 like you, and my nausea disappeared this week but still have sore boobs. I had my early scan on Monday and all was well, little bean with heart flickering ferociously on the screen 😊 Try not to worry. I think often our bodies just adapt to the higher levels of hormones and symptoms ease or disappear. Some people never have them, it's totally normal. Hope you have a good scan tomorrow and that your anxiety eases 🍀

Chanteuse · 04/03/2023 15:28

I’ve had my first irrational hormonal moment today, I was in floods of tears! We’re going to decorate our bedroom in a few weeks as I want to do a bit of a refresh upstairs before the baby arrives - so I peeled off a strip of wallpaper so I could test paint colours. DH asked me why I’d done that and I just burst into tears thinking he was annoyed with me ☹️😂

mrsmw132 · 04/03/2023 15:48

Hello all,
Can I join? Due October 19th with our rainbow baby.
Had a we scare at 6weeks with a tiny bleed so have had a scan at 6weeks and 6+6! All good. Fetal pole, heartbeat all there. We have been discharged from the fertility clinic.
Anxious wait until 12 weeks scan.
Symptoms so far, nausea! I also have dry eyes, so they are streaming with tears all the time.
Looking forward to keeping up with you all

Natacat · 04/03/2023 16:44

@LaVitesse2022 thanks so much for that! I do realise I’m being a bit irrational but I also feel like my brain cells are disintegrating 🙈
hopefully after tomorrow I’ll be able to relax a little.

my booking in appt has been pushed back so I won’t have it until 10 weeks because of shortages and they won’t book the 12 week scan until they’ve had bloods back from that

Midnight00 · 04/03/2023 16:52

Thanks @NSx and @Baby1023 for skin advice. I've got midwife this week so will see about prescription and tempted by the Sunday Riley; cheaper than a facial!

Lovely to see all the baby scans. I had one last week at wk8 and tempted by another in a few weeks as my first scab isn't till wk23... feels so far away

Midnight00 · 04/03/2023 16:54

*scan not scab! And at 13 weeks obviously. Fat, cold fingers!

VictoriaBlossom · 04/03/2023 17:23

Today my symptoms disappeared and now I'm a bit anxious. This waiting for a scan malarkey is so annoying. Feel like I wanna just pay for one.

ladies can you help with a question please :

With the scan measurements, is that from your lmp or from conception?

My lmp means I'm 7 weeks today... but obv didn't ovulate til 14 days after that ish...

Is it possible to see anything this early?
I had an early scan at 8 weeks last time and they said I measured 5w6d but was that from my lmp or is that from conception?

ukMummyof1 · 04/03/2023 17:35

Used a CBD this morning for the first time (im 5+5) and got my 3+🥹

@VictoriaBlossom thank you soo much for your offer but I'm definitely feeling more at ease now so don't think I'll need the tests🤞

I've also not had many symptoms at all (if any!!) anyone else experiencing this? I know every pregnancy but with my first 2 pregnancy's (one earthside and the other ectopic) I had so many symptoms so early on so I'm not sure if I should worry.. xx

VictoriaBlossom · 04/03/2023 17:47

@ukMummyof1 ahhhh welcome to the 3+ club!

Well my lack of symptoms and my only symptom was uncomfortable nips disappeared today so I'm not the one to answer your question. I'm just telling myself every pregnancy is different...

Ss32 · 04/03/2023 17:58

Ugh I struggled with expressing too! And it kinda felt a bit pointless as if you still had to pump at the usual feeding time (if someone else is feeding with a bottle!). I don’t know, I’ll start breastfeeding again and see how we get on but I’ll definitely be more open to introducing a formula feed this time. Last time, for some weird reason, I was dead against it and just made things hard for myself

Alexandra07 · 04/03/2023 18:09

@VictoriaBlossom the scan gives you the date from conception + 2 weeks, roughly. If your cycles are 28 days, then it's from your LMP. Last time you should have scanned around 8 weeks, but maybe you ovulated late, that's why the 1 week difference. Early scans are not as accurate either. At 7 weeks you will probably hear the heartbeat.
