Due late September/early October 2023

Anyone else due around this time? I'm due at the end of September but suspect it might be later than that. Hoping for an October baby as it's my favourite month in the year!

I'm still in the nausea-inducing first trimester but only a few weeks to go before some relief, apparently. I have felt car sick pretty much everyday for 5 weeks, relieved temporarily by eating whatever I am craving.

I'm planning a few little holidays during the second trimester. It'll be nice to spend some quality time with my husband before we become parents. And hopefully to sleep well on hotel beds.

I am nervous but excited about the future beyond that. I'm nervous of bad news, of continued terrible nausea through the best part of this year, of childbirth, of the lack of sleep I know is coming with having a child, of the pain of breastfeeding. I'm looking forward to seeing the baby grow into a person who can speak and who I can read stories too. It's something we take for granted, but it still blows my mind you can love another person and then combine your DNA and have a child who might be totally different from both of us. There's no saying who we are all going to meet – and what lives they have ahead of them!

Hey @esgill

congratulations!

I should be due 26th sept based off cycle tracking, but I’ve had 2 private and 1 EPU scan and each time my date has moved forward so may well be earlier, or I just have a long baby! I love October too and all the autumnal/spooky stuff so was thinking at the start if baby is overdue maybe they would be Oct but think this may not be the case now!

hope the sickness wears off for you soon, I had nausea badly for a few weeks and did get worse in the car but now I’m just constantly eating to stay on top of it and seems to be easing off 🤞🏼

the exhaustion is what is getting me at the moment, looking forward to this second trimester energy I keep hearing about!

good to have a few breaks booked and to make the most of time just the two of you. It seems like a long time for pregnancy when you’re waiting to meet your little one but I keep thinking we’ve been together 12 years just us, and in a matter of months it’ll be 3 of us 😮 so weird to consider it from both points of view. Trying to just enjoy every minute.

there was a nice group for sept due dates but it got full this morning so I’m not sure if there’ll be another created shortly. Will keep an eye out

Thanks for sharing PBandJs!

I'm due on the 29th September based on cycle tracking, too, but it could easily become October.

I feel so terrible today. Woke up at 4.30 am with sickness and my husband made me porridge, which was very sweet but I feel neither of us have much of a life right now! It's just constantly trying to survive the first trimester. I've been in bed most days and then when I go on walks I'm exhausted and sick. Eating helps but only if I eat the right thing, which seems a daily changing struggle, ha.

How are you coping with the exhaustion? I feel I have been merely surviving but not living since late January.

We've been together for 7 years but known each other a lot longer. 9 months is such a long time and it doesn't really feel like an additional household member will be the result of it. Kind of crazy to think about.

I haven't seen the September due date thread!

Yes definitely hibernating here too! I think part of it is mental just until we get to 12 weeks and can relax a little, but also just don’t have the energy for things. I’m trying to consider it self-care time for me and baby and just give into it. It’s not always easy when there’s things to be done but I just keep reminding myself I’m growing a human and that requires a lot of energy and rest! Also that once they’re here we won’t have time so make the most if it now 🤣

It’s such a long time to wait but also feel like it’s gonna creep up and suddenly we’ll be like omg baby is almost here! crazy that you can actually grow a whole other person in that time.

have you and your husband told anyone yet or are you keeping it to yourselves for now?

x

Sorry for the slowness. I've told a fair few friends. Not family, beyond my brothers. How about you? I've just felt non-stop sick! It's all I can think about really. I'm pretty depressed.

It is so crazy you can grow a human inside you. Can't get over the weirdness. Are you still hibernating?

I'm due on 26th September. I am getting out for walks as I have a toddler already and it does seem to help with the nausea but I'm then exhausted in the afternoons. I get frustrated that I can't do much and even basic things like keeping on top of laundry can be a challenge. I guess I feel like I'm not pulling my weight anymore as I'm a SAHM but I know I'm being unfair to myself. I'm really looking forward to reaching the second trimester.

My scan is on 16th March. I can't wait!

Hi all, my due date is 28 Sept based on the app. I have my dating scan next Wed.

Would love to join you all on this!

My symptoms have been easing for the past few days and I don't get as much nausea and sore boobs. Does anyone have that too? Slightly worried that it could be a MMC as I had a miscarriage last Oct.

Just have to wait for the scan next week and see!

@Kayycatt my symposiums have eased massively! I no longer feel nauseous at all and my boobs aren't that sore (except the odd day). My sister had a MMC just a few weeks ago and baby had no heartbeat at 9 weeks. This made me SO anxious so I booked a private scan when I was 9+5 just to check all was okay and it was all fine. Baby was wriggling and happy!

I think as we head towards the second trimester it's normal for symptoms to ease but also scary. I feel exhausted ALL the time but that's about it.

I can't believe I only have one week left of my first trimester!

@colourPink sorry to hear that your sister had a MMC. hope she's ok :(

But glad that your little one is doing fine and your symptoms have eased slightly as well.

I get tired early these days (used to go to bed after midnight all the time, now starting to feel sleepy around 9pm) but then I wake up at crazy early hours like 4/5/6am and I can't fall back to sleep!

It's crazy that the trimester is almost over. It's strange but sometimes I almost don't feel pregnancy at all.

When is your dating scan?

Hi ladies!!

I’m due 27th September - we also wouldn’t mind an October baby as we love October / Halloween!!

I had an early scan at 8 weeks and we saw the heartbeat and a cute tiny little seahorse lol. My dating scan feels forever away, it’s 20th March!! I’m also super nervous about hearing bad news, my symptoms seem to be easing too. My nausea that I had I haven’t had for a few days. The only things I have are bigger boobs, tiredness and crazy hunger!!! I am constantly hungry!!!! 😅

Keeping my fingers and toes crossed. It’s such a nerve wrecking and exciting time. I’m too scared to get my hopes up just incase! But I also know MMC are quite uncommon but my friend had one last year and I can’t get it off my mind xx

@esgill sorry to hear it’s still really affecting you, I really hope it eases off soon and you can start to enjoy it all more. Have you spoken to your midwife or GP about it, maybe see if they can give you some meds to take the edge off the sickness?

Honestly I’m gonna be the size of a house by the time the nausea wears off because the only way it stops is to keep eating and I’m starving all the time! I go to bed with about 5 different snacks and still wake up ravenous.

ah that’s lovely. We told our parents quite early on but we’re waiting to tell everyone else after our 12 week scan next Weds. I’m so excited but equally sad that it’ll no longer be our little secret!

yes definitely still hibernating! exhaustion comes and goes in waves for a couple of days at a time, but I don’t think the weather is helping at all. Hopefully our intro to the second trimester will be accompanied by the joys of spring 🌻 how are you getting on with tiredness now?

@Izzie94x love that yours looked like a seahorse… ours looked like a cartoon roast chicken 😂

Welcome all and congrats, of course, good to have more activity here :)

Tomorrow I'm at 11 weeks and today I felt a tiny bit more functional. I managed to do some work, concentrated on reading a bit and ate lunch and breakfast without moaning all day. Afternoon came around and I felt tired and queasy again. I am ravenous too and my appetite is diversifying again, which is nice. Suddenly I can tolerate tomato pasta sauce again, albeit in small quantities.

I still took a nap after a walk yesterday but I think the 9–10 week peak is finally falling HCG-wise, and we might all soon get some respite. Bring on the second trimester!

Do any of you have holidays planned for the second trimester? We hope to go away somewhere warm in May. I still haven't started planning a baby future yet. Hard to think it's real.

Will you all do the 20-week scan to determine the baby's gender? And do you want to post 12-week photos for nub/skull theory guesses?

@PBandJs thanks for your message. Hope you're doing okay! I've been given a few things to take the edge of sickness. Oddly I found they make it worse, if anything! The only thing that works a bit is to make sure I keep eating the right things regularly and get plenty of sleep! I am napping a lot--yesterday I went out for lunch with my husband and a friend and then came home and slept for 3 hours!

I did feel a bit more functional today, albeit from bed. I won't dare check my weight as I had an eating disorder in the past, but I will definitely be ballooning too! My husband has noticed I'm finishing my meals much more quickly than normal, haha. I know they say don't eat for two, but my hunger is telling another story...

Our scan is next week too. How are you feeling about it? This will be my second scan. Super weird, all of it. How did your family respond? I am strangely a bit reluctant to tell my mum. We have a weird relationship.

so nice to hear that we are are in a similar 'timeline' so we can 'compare notes' :D

I have been hungry all the time as well but I am trying to be careful and not overeat, otherwise I get very bloated and feel uncomfortable for hours. Also don't want to gain more weight as I still carry my 'pandemic' weight, the fat that I gained during the lockdown as was eating more and moved less back then.

I am going away to Belfast for a long weekend at the end of the month but this was planned before I found out I was pregnant to celebrate my friends birthday. I am hoping to go somewhere for a week in May before it all gets too much.

I haven't told anyone yet apart from my sister, will share after I have my dating scan and confirmed all is fine. Still a bit anxious that things could go the other way...

Please can I join? 😊Haven't had EDD yet but I'm due around 25th September so fully anticipate it could be an early October baby! Had my first scan last week but as I have longer cycles I was earlier than they expected (which I knew but I wasn't going to turn down an early scan!) got to go back in 2 weeks for another scan so I can have the tests etc.

First baby so excited but equally overwhelmed/nervous!!

@Izzie94x I'm due 27th September!

We had a private scan at 9 weeks and I had my nhs dating scan yesterday and they both gave me the same date 🥰

All good with the dating scan... nhs originally thought I was closer to 13 weeks but I'm only 11! I already kind of knew that due to the private scan but it's so exciting see it all official. Our baby looks like a duck in the first picture as it has its hands by it's face 🤣

11 weeks for me now! 1 week to go and I'm out of the first trimester, assuming you're all nearing the end of it too? Hoping for a surge in energy and less nausea. Looking forward to being able to to do pregnancy yoga. I'd love to take up pilates again but I still don't really don't what is/isn't okay exercise-wise during pregnancy. I'm very scared of diastasis recti.

@colourPink yay, DD buddies haha!! I’m hoping my date doesn’t change too much after my private scan. But I’m sure they always do at the NHS dating scan! Although, I’m pretty 100% certain with dates thanks to it being an IVF baby haha!!

@esgill 11 weeks and 3 days here 😊 feeling a lot better, had a sudden wave of nausea a few days ago, but nothing compared to what I had been getting. It was over and done with within 10 minutes!! Feeling a little anxious though as I am starting to feel a lot better (how crazy is it that I’d rather be riddled with nausea lol!) boobs are still bigger and harder, the pregnancy discharge is realllll lol but there’s something unnerving about feeling better!!

Anyone else now feeling better now you’re heading towards the end of the first trimester!? 🤍 1 week and 2 days until my scan - not that I am counting….. lol x

@colourPink so amazing to see the dating scan photos! Really looking forward to mine next Wed but am really worried that I need to have a full bladder, my problem is when I need to pee, I need to pee so can't really hold it in for too long!

I have been feeling better as in less nausea and also no sore boobs anymore. It's slightly worrying but apparently that's normal toward the end of the first trimester.

@Kayycatt you don't need to be bursting just make sure you've drank a few glasses of water an hour before you go.

They'll do your bloods as well do the more hydrated you are the getter 😊

@Kayycatt i had a hideously full bladder for my transfer (they advise you to have a full bladder) but I had to empty it 3 times before my transfer (they were running slightly late!) then they told me afterwards it didn’t need to be that full and it replenishes after 30/45minutes! So recommend that you wee before you go (depending how far it is) and drink water on the way🥰

I feel exactly the same lovely. Symptoms have lessened a little this week, no more nausea, boobs don’t hurt but do feel slightly different (I think!!) but other than that I’m pretty symptomless 😅 x
