Oh no Rainbow! Do you have compeed patches? Might be worth putting some in your hospital bag, just in case? I’ve got some because I shall be sticking one on MIL forcibly if she tries to kiss my newborn with a cold sore again!

I’ve got the pram down and there’s a small patch of what I think is mould on the underside of the foam mattress cover. It’s tiny, smaller than a 1p. I’ve put it through the machine with dettol and now drying in the sunlight, will that be ok or shall I spray it with vinegar too?

Dreamingof3 · 28/02/2023 12:38

@ChristmasJumpers like others have said, try not to worry too much. I'm guessing that's your personalized chart? The weight itself isn't too different to mine at 36 weeks and that put her just under 50th centile, so it's all a bit subjective really x

ChristmasJumpers · 28/02/2023 12:41

@Dreamingof3 the only worry really is that her weight was so far off what anyone was expecting so if it carried on accelerating luke that she'd be off the charts!
I'm feeling totally at peace with the decision to go for elcs, it's like a weight has been lifted. Just need them to call with a date now but we'll be meeting little miss in 3 weeks or less 🥰

Shep21 · 28/02/2023 12:43

Congratulations to all who’ve had babies over the last couple of days!

It’s all so exciting seeing you guys go through the symptoms of early labour/bodies prepping and then babies arriving!

Although I’m definitely in the camp of being fed up of pregnancy and wanting little one to come asap! I feel there’s a few of us at this point!

Dreamingof3 · 28/02/2023 13:25

@ChristmasJumpers will be exciting to get an end date! The scans are less accurate later on anyway so could be off either way...I find it annoying as id love to know if I've got the right sized clothes 😂

Room4onemore · 28/02/2023 13:31

I have an ecv booked for Monday 🙂

allthingssparkly · 28/02/2023 14:00

On the antenatal ward, had the balloon inserted at 12.30, so we shall see what happens over the next few hours. Fingers crossed its favourable 🤞

Saltandpepperr · 28/02/2023 14:40

@Dreamingof3 yes little man was 8.4lb and all the newborn stuff I got doesn't fit so many clothes he won't wear I'm sad.

Dreamingof3 · 28/02/2023 14:45

@Saltandpepperr we've got hardly any newborn, mostly up to 1 month which goes up to 10lbs. Did the same with my second and although she was 7lb7 it all swamped her 😂 but I'd rather it be a bit big. Now baby has dropped a bit on her growth chart though 😵‍💫 I've got a couple of newborn bits so if she turns out to be quite small we can just get some more then 🤷🏼‍♀️

iratepirate · 28/02/2023 14:52

Last time around I was told for ages that it would be a large baby. So went with 0-1 clothes and they swamped baby. DH had to go out for newborn clothes, but not really a big deal in the great scheme of things.

Perexi · 28/02/2023 15:13

I've bought a few 0-1 month vests but all his clothes are 0-3 months 😂😂 apparently his Legs are long (already at the average birth length and I'm only 36 week's tomorrow) we figured someone could pick us up some bits if required as really didn't want to buy things he would never wear.

Perexi · 28/02/2023 15:13

Good luck to everyone in hospital already, so many early babies!

Rainbowbaby23 · 28/02/2023 15:45

@Moonicorn yep have the patches and have creams etc as well:) I rarely get them and ofcourse I get one 2 weeks before due date🙃

Choc2022 · 28/02/2023 16:45

With the predicted cold weather is anyone considering purchasing more 'winter' clothes. Not sure whether to get a more snowsuit type coat. I bought a thin fleece all in one to come home in (with blanket over) and have a 0-3 months jacket (no legs) but now thinking is that enough? I also only have one newborn cardigan and 2 0-3 months.

Congratulations @TeddyBeans

Dreamingof3 · 28/02/2023 16:58

@Choc2022 I've just kind of gone with layers...got a thin fleecy all in one, a few cardigans, slightly thicker jacket and then a couple of different blankets. I think even if it got pretty cold again that should be enough for our short trip to school and back 🤷🏼‍♀️ (previous summer babies!)

Moonicorn · 28/02/2023 17:15

I bought a proper pramsuit because March/April can be deceptively chilly and we live by the sea, so also very windy. Would rather have it and not need it than the other way round! You can get one for a couple of quid off Vinted if you don’t want to splash out on new only for it to be used just once or twice. I’m planning on going for lots of beach walks as soon as I feel up to it, so want him to be nice and cosy in the pram. I also have a couple of thin fleece sleepsuits and some knitted cardis.

Dd was a very sicky baby, she had reflux (common in earlier babies) and some days we had to change her clothes 8+ times 🤯 so I’ve never been able to understand the ‘just a few sleepsuits’ thing on here, my babies need all the clothes they can get 😂

Saltandpepperr · 28/02/2023 17:28

@Choc2022 I sent DH to asda today there was lots In the sale so he got me 2 £5 each. I'm going to start going for walks in the morning next week so thought its best to get them as it's predicted to go in minus again.

Congratulations @TeddyBeans

Not in advance I’m having my baby by c section this Friday and it’s due to drop cold by Monday but I’m going to be cosey in the house definitely the first week or two so I’ll assess the weather after that. If I think I need one as I approach week 2 I’m going to order online if I need a pram suit. I have a thick fleece blanket to go over baby in car seat coming home from hospital x

Room4onemore · 28/02/2023 18:08

I bought a knitted pram suit, loads of blankets and hats so I’m hoping that will be ok

ChristmasJumpers · 28/02/2023 18:34

We've bought a thick fleecy pram suit and have been given a ton of blankets so hoping we'll be okay in all weather. We haven't got many hats though so might need one or two more

LifeOfRiley1 · 28/02/2023 18:47

FTM here 😅 are pramsuits too thick to have on baby in a car seat? I’ve been trying to plan what baby is coming home
in but don’t want to buy something that is unsafe in a car seat..

Moonicorn · 28/02/2023 18:48

The thick waterproof style ones aren’t (as far as I understand it!) but the thinner fleecy ones are 😊

havananana · 28/02/2023 18:48

I don't think pramsuits are safe in a car seat.
Better opt for a blanket and more fitted clothing

Dreamingof3 · 28/02/2023 19:02

@LifeOfRiley1 for in the carseat a thin cardigan on top of their vest and sleepsuit would be plenty, then a thicker layer (ie blanket) on top. Also no hats whilst driving in case anyone hasn't been told that.

JB2021 · 28/02/2023 19:35

@Dreamingof3 whats the reason for no hats while driving.

I'm not questioning it, I'm a FTM and keen to understand why
