Ahhh I don't know if the crampy pelvis feeling I've felt every time I've woken up in the night is anything happening or just because I've had ongoing constipation and been gassy 🙈 (sorry, TMI but lets be truthful here!) I have complained of feeling a bit sick/nauseaus a few days but only in the morning friday, only night time yesterday and I guess still a bit now but thought that could be nerves.
(I had pretty much not suffered nausea or sickness at all so far in pregnancy) but that can also be due to bowel issues so I feel quite clueless!

Hopefully midwife can say if any progress with anything later!

Congratulations to those who have had their babies recently ❤

@Choc2022 sounds rather eventful but I hope all okay now and you heal well, and that you and baby enjoy your warm snuggles! Congratulations xx

havananana · 19/03/2023 06:19

Had our Baby girl on 17th, she's so cute!

I had the most positive C-section experience, honestly it was such a fun atmosphere, music playing, the medical team cracking jokes, baby adorable, it was the best!

TeddyBeans · 19/03/2023 07:49

@Choc2022 crikey that sounds like an intense experience! Glad you're both okay and together. Enjoy all the baby snuggles and ask for pain relief if you need it ❤️ massive congratulations!

@havananana aww yay I'm so pleased you had a positive experience. Congratulations on your little one ❤️

@AK93 have you taken anything for your constipation? Lactulose is safe in pregnancy, they gave it to me at the hospital in my first pregnancy. Hopefully it's a bit more than trapped wind for you though! Good luck at the midwife later 🤞

Choc2022 · 19/03/2023 08:10

@havananana congratulations! Glad you had a positive experience x

Unfortunately my baby boy is in ICU. Breathing difficulties and potentially infection.

AK93 · 19/03/2023 08:33

@TeddyBeans I'm on fybogel but I'm not sure its quite doing enough. Have to drink so much fluid to make it work I think! I have forgotten to have it a couple of times so maybe I'm just too bad at taking it and not getting enough fluid/water in. Doctor said to try this first but wondering if I need something else as I've still only managed to go properly without having to help it twice and even that was with having to squeeze a bit which you're not supposed to do 🙈if I end up with suppositries I have no idea exactly where I need to get them to be! I'm wondering if there's a problem (maybe baby is squashing some part somewhere and making it more difficult?) and it's getting trapped as its getting it to find its way out without pushing that seems to be issue! I feel like my body is broken and don't know how I'm meant to to push a baby out if my body won't allow something much more usual and routine to happen! So delightful 🙈 I will ask midwife what the next suggestion is!! I feel like the things that draw water out of your body/into stool may not help cause I'm not sure I can keep up with the fluid intake needed! x

AK93 · 19/03/2023 08:37

@Choc2022 oh poor boy, I hope they get him sorted quickly! Big hugs for you while you wait xxx

AK93 · 19/03/2023 08:38

@havananana Congratulations! May she remain as cute and adorable as you find her right now forever 😆💕 xx

Dreamingof3 · 19/03/2023 09:11

@Choc2022 congratulations, I'm sorry it was such an ordeal for you! I hope baby boy is back with you soon xx
@havananana lovely to hear you had such a positive experience, congratulations 🎉

Due date today! Think the baby will pay any attention 😂

Rose429 · 19/03/2023 09:28

@Choc2022 Congratulations! Hope your baby boy will get better soon for all the cuddles and snuggles ❤️

@havananana Glad to hear you had a positive experience after the long induction. Congratulations!

Rose429 · 19/03/2023 09:30

@AK93 I have said it to everyone I know with constipation: kiwi fruit!

BabyTalbot1 · 19/03/2023 09:39

Eekk!!! Induction tomorrow. Woke up crying today, feeling emotional that everything is about to change and very nervous.

@AK93 I have struggled for the past 2 days with constipation and gas. Awful nights sleep with night sweats and woke up this morning to the return of morning sickness! I have started taking lactulose again. Hoping it helps before induction tomorrow 🤞

AK93 · 19/03/2023 09:55

@Rose429 ah I've heard of it being good but kiwi is the one thing I don't risk as I get tingly mouth and it may be allergic reaction, which with being pregnant and allergies being more common during pregnancy I'm too scared to try incase anything worse than just a tingly mouth happens!

I don't know why lactulose isn't suggested as much by drs or midwives the midwife I mentioned it to said she thought it was more for after and to ask the Dr. The Dr said fybogel or laxido to try first but fybogel might be a bit too gentle for me or require more than I can manage to drink to help enough. Pretty much 3 weeks now, i tried natural by improving diet and drinking more, lots of juice! Thought I was getting there then realised nope, it isn't again! The first two weeks I wasn't taking anything for it though so only really had one full week of trying with the fybogel (counting the fact I have missed a few sachets) I have prune juice too but can only stomach a bit of that. I'd love to do more walking as that could help but it's pretty much impossible! I don't really want to up the sachets as you can actually cause a blockage from this stuff and that would be worse than just not being able to get anything out the other end 🙈

BabyLimey · 19/03/2023 10:06

@havananana congrats lovely! So pleased it was a positive experience

muminlndn · 19/03/2023 11:19

@Choc2022 so sorry to hear your little boy is having some difficulties. If it helps I've seen a lot of babies come and go in the neonatal unit within a day or two of birth, the breathing difficulties usually resolve pretty quickly and they're sent back up to postnatal/transitional care to be with mum while on a course of antibiotics. The uncertainty is the hardest and seeing your little one have a cannula, bloods taken etc is heartbreaking but very temporary. Hopefully he'll recover quickly, the docs can rule out anything worrying and reunite you both 🤞

havananana · 19/03/2023 11:50

Thank you all 🥰

We had our fair share of other issues - baby did a poop whilst inside and had some increased breathing for a bit and a doctor heard a heart murmur, but thankfully that's all been sorted now.
Also BF started out well and then turned our baby was just doing the motion but actually not latched properly, so was not effective. Poor thing got so hysterically upset, but with formula she's been like a different person!

Anyone has tips for a quicker and less distressed baby nappy change? I find myself so slow with sticking the nappy, overthinking about the umbilical cord placement 🫠

NM1819 · 19/03/2023 16:50

Feeling a bit down again today as thought I might have had her by now. I had DS at 39+4 which will be tomorrow so think this ones going to be a late baby 😭 but DP did point out I worked out her due date to be a few days after the one the midwives estimated so could be that I'm right and they're not. Her movements have changed over the last week, think she is running out of room which is apparently why I went into labour with DS.
I read something somewhere that said clary sage was not reccomended in pregnancy but have since been unable to find it again so have a oil diffuser that I've tried over the past few days whilst in the bath with a few drops in. Doesn't seem to have done anything though! I don't like oil on my skin so won't put directly on bump. Has anyone tried the reflexology points on themselves? Any luck? Hope everyone is getting on okay! 😊

Rainbowbaby23 · 19/03/2023 19:37

After a few long days, waters finally broken and going to delivery🥰🥰🥰

Whydotheyallhaverubbishwheels · 19/03/2023 21:25

@Rainbowbaby23 eek good luck ❤️

Good luck to everyone with inductions tomorrow xx

Rainbowbaby23 · 19/03/2023 22:41

AK93 · 19/03/2023 23:21

Contractions started to fizzle a bit so added 6ml of pitocin, baby reacting good and now contracting nicely. 6-7cm!!

iratepirate · 20/03/2023 03:52

Fiiiinally, waters went this evening and we got to hospital about 10pm.
Baby boy born 00.18 and we’ve just been discharged 🥳
I cannot begin to explain how relieved I am.

Cats23 · 20/03/2023 05:35

Congratulations all, a busy few days for so many!!
@iratepirate Im surprised on time of discharge for you, they wont diacharge at our hospital till next day if a night time delivery!

Good luck @Rainbowbaby23
