I'm so annoyed, spent 15h with the pessary, 9h of nothing, then 6h in pain just to be told that my contractions actually are weak, no sleep, it messed with baby's heart for 3h, and then at 15h mark fell out in the loo!

There's not a doctor to prescribe me a new one yet, but I don't want a new one. Will push for section as it was too much for me and baby. 😩

Oh no! Good luck with the section.

Hope everyone still waiting is doing ok?

Even though my little one won't sleep anywhere bar on us (he would in hospital) we are utterly obsessed with him.

BabyLimey · 17/03/2023 06:22

@havananana thats so annoying, I’m sorry 😞 push for what you feel is right for you and your body!

@Perexi exact same, baby slept in the crib in the hospital and since we’ve been home will only sleep in our arms 😂 huge congratulations to you xx

havananana · 17/03/2023 07:00

Thank you ❤️ I just want the baby out , so I'm fasting until the doctors come to ensure I'm ready when they are

The midwives didn't argue with me, just said to speak with the doctors, so I am patiently waiting.

1h till my husband can come back too, which will be nice, as the 12h at night on my own was very lonely 😔

JB2021 · 17/03/2023 07:37

Know this is nothing compared to those waiting for inductions.

FTM here, due 21st. Sleeping on my left and my top hip hurt last night. Had to keep getting up and walking then it was fine. Wouldn't mind it it was the hip I was sleeping on, could at least understand that!

I'm just hoping it means my body is getting ready.....

Whydotheyallhaverubbishwheels · 17/03/2023 10:17

@havananana oh you poor thing that doesn't sound fun. I hope you get your c section soon. I was alone for 4 days after the birth of my first due to covid and it was hard and lonely.

@JB2021 I get dead hips every night and have done since about 35 weeks. I just have to rotate whenever I wake which feels like hourly to pee!

Rainbowbaby23 · 17/03/2023 10:29

Now coming up to 20 hours of ‘early’ back
labour, I just want some relief

TeddyBeans · 17/03/2023 12:11

@Rainbowbaby23 was your baby back to back? Hopefully things progress soon and you have your little one in your arms before you know it 🥰

Rainbowbaby23 · 17/03/2023 12:26

@TeddyBeans yeah he’s back to back the rascal😂

Rose429 · 17/03/2023 12:40

Just had a shower and my bump felt very tight for a few minutes. It started at the top of the belly then came back a few minutes later at lower belly. It doesn’t feel like period pain, just uncomfortably tight belly. Was that Braxton hicks?

BabyLimey · 17/03/2023 17:26

@havananana the time on your own overnight is so tough, it’s actually what I was dreading most about being in hospital. Hope it got better when he was allowed back and you’ve made some progress today

Dreamingof3 · 17/03/2023 17:39

Really hated today. Growth scan as they thought baby's weight had dropped off last time...it hasn't 🙄 waited 3 hours to be seen by the consultant who basically said no point in a sweep as I've had one already and it didn't do anything. Doesn't see the point in hoping to have a natural birth and we've booked in a section. I was so fed up I cried and all she could say was 'but it'll be fine so you shouldn't get upset' - like it's completely unreasonable to not be looking forward to major surgery and the recovery with a newborn and 2 other children 😔

Nettlestea · 17/03/2023 21:24

@Dreamingof3 I’m sorry you had to deal with that today, totally understandable you’d be feeling emotional about the news of the c section, consultant sounds a bit out of touch. Is there a reason they can’t induce you or are you choosing a c section yourself? You’re absolutely allowed to be upset, it’s such a stressful time as it is, I’m worried too.

ChristmasJumpers · 17/03/2023 21:34

Baby Aurora (Rory for short) was born via elcs at 9.15am this morning. 7lbs 4oz of perfection. I love her so much!

The c section was straight forward and care after has been phenomenal. Rory's blood sugars all good after my GD and I've been up and showered with no pain. It's like a dream 🥰 with any luck we'll be sent home tomorrow morning. DH is able to stay the night with us too which puts my mind at ease otherwise I don't think I'd sleep at all!

I’ve had two natural births now, went into labour on my own, and the idea of being induced on Monday is scary. Hoping the baby will make an appearance before then, trying to research induction as much as possible. I know it’ll all be over soon and trying to focus on the baby.

Nettlestea · 17/03/2023 21:37

@ChristmasJumpers Awwww congratulations!! 💐 She’s beautiful, glad you’re both well, sounds like a positive experience! Hope you get home soon ❤️

Choc2022 · 18/03/2023 01:03

Its been a long day!

Came in for induction, started with baby monitoring but there were two dips with baby hearate which made the antenatal midwives panic a little. I was sent to delivery ward with a view to emergency c sec and fluids. Got there needed to change into a gowb then after a long monitoring decided its not necessary and continue with induction, the dilaplan. The speculum HURT today and rods put in then back to antenatal ward. Told rods will come out 15 hours later followed by water breaking if dialted enough.

Then the next step is oral tablet taken every two hours to bring on contractions. If that doesnt work then IV. But as I've had prev abdo surgery they are rethinking as may not be able so really no idea of direction post rods.

Loooong process!

Dreamingof3 · 18/03/2023 10:12

@Nettlestea thank you, I think just being so over the pregnancy has me feeling teary anyway so I'm easily set off atm! I've had 2 previous sections so they've said they won't induce me, and wanted me to have an elective from the beginning. This is definitely our last baby and I just feel sad that I'll now never get to experience a natural labour. Obviously I'm grateful to just have a healthy baby but I still think it's reasonable to be a bit upset about it

Nettlestea · 18/03/2023 11:48

@choc2022 Oh that does sound like a long process! Won’t be long now I’m sure, did they give you any pain relief when inserting rods? I think I’d like to go with that method too. Good luck for today! Hope you get to meet little one soon 😄

Nettlestea · 18/03/2023 12:12

@Dreamingof3 Yeah its a hard time towards the end as it is, all the hormones and being sore. At least it’s not long now! I’m sorry you’re feeling down, all the birth ways are a bit crap, when is your section booked? If you went into labour naturally do you think they would let you? Yeah it does help to focus on the baby at the end of it all, but it’s still ok to be sad, and it’s good to have a cry.

Monday 😭 just been for my pre op and now just going to concentrate on getting everything ready.
Yeah the plan was to give it a go if I went into labour naturally...also why I didn't book a section until after due date!

CristinaNov182 · 18/03/2023 13:30

Congratulations to all the new mums and babies!

I had my baby girl too on the 16th. Had a much better labour than last time. We’re both home and settling in, just in time for Mother’s Day tomorrow :)

good luck to all who’re still waiting, soon you’ll be on the other side with the baby in your arms, hung in there x

Rainbowbaby23 · 18/03/2023 16:37

Over 48 hours now of inconsistent contractions. Checked this morning and only 2cm dilated but fully effaced
been taking cocodamol 30/500’s and using TENS machine
hope he is here for mothers day

Moonlighting · 19/03/2023 00:45

Hello everyone. Congratulations to all the new babies and their mums! Hoping to join you soon…

38+2 today (well yesterday now) and have had regular, period-like cramps every 10 mins since about noon. Feels similar to Braxton-Hicks but a bit sore. Frequency very gradually increasing but still only 1-2 every 10 mins and honestly not especially painful yet. Been losing bits of mucous plug since dinner time too. I’m a FTM so prepared for this to take a few days, but definitely hopeful that something is starting! Fingers crossed I can manage my anticipation enough to get some sleep 😅

@Rose429 that sounds similar to how I experienced Braxton-Hicks.

Choc2022 · 19/03/2023 04:24

Baby boy delivered 18th March!

Have a newfound admiration of my mother! Feel bad for all the mean stuff I've EVER said!!

Turned up for induction at 39.1 weeks. Heart rate dipping during monitoring-told to be ready for emergency csec - sent to labour ward- baby heart rate stablised so back to original induction plan- rods inserted - VERY uncomfortable (not a good speculum day- rods in for 15 hours- rods taken out and dilated to 3cm - no beds on labour so slow plan to break waters - heart rate dipped a lot - sent as priority to labour ward - IV induction put on - active labour for 6 hours - pushed and cried out like a walrus - joined by baby

Tore so needed 2 episiotmy AND two blood vessels erupted so blood was literally squirting everywhere - fllor, drs clothes, bed, in came 8 staff and eventually stopped bleeding and sewed up the ruptured vessels. Placenta came flying out with a little push.

Babys temp is cold so lots of skin to skin and NO sleep today. Baby v mucusy so difficulty breathing. Harvesting syringes came in handy as baby not latching.

Feeling SO sore down there. Gas and air during contractions. Luckily didnt need any other pain relief.

BabyLimey · 19/03/2023 05:35

@Choc2022 oh my god bless you but massive congratulations. Enjoy every second of the skin to skin, it’s still my absolute favourite a week on
