I find it easier to do things in the bath because you can lie down and put your legs in the air.

Me too! I have a bath maybe twice a week and give everything a shave. It helps with the itchiness down there 🤢 along with the canesten of course!

I had gel toenails last week but one has already chipped 😭 think I’ll just take the gel off and paint them the night before I go into hospital. Pregnancy can be quite grim tbh so I like to look and feel as nice as I can, it matters to me. I’ve got a hair appointment booked for 2 weeks time so I’ll have nice fresh highlights for the photos 😆 I’ll also be doing an all over light fake tan and eyebrow tint before I go in. Will leave nails however as I’ve heard in emergencies they like to see the colour of the nail bed.

DD has a really grim snotty cold so I’m going to keep her off nursery tomorrow, so it’ll probably be a sofa day for us.

GreenIsle · 19/02/2023 19:53

Totally agree I know it's not a priority at all to be groomed this late in pregnancy. However with my first two labours I made a point of having a long soak in the bath with early contractions and shaving head to toe it just helped me to mentally feel prepared. I done the same a few days ago but it was braxton hicks so waste of time 😂

I'm going to do my own gel nails and toes tonight just whilst my other 2 children are asleep.

Blocklynn · 19/02/2023 20:02

I’ve been managing ok with legs so far, pubes are another matter, I just trim best I can and hope it doesn’t look too awful 😂
Had to get husband to look at an ingrown hair for me the other day as even in the mirror I couldn’t see properly, so sexy me 😂😂😂

ToffeeEl · 19/02/2023 20:14

The shavings been a struggle for me, I never thought of shaving my legs as something to be out of puff with before now 😂 going in blind on the garden, and taking 20 minutes to do legs now..
I've had my hair done, and I do my builder gel nails/eye brows myself which I'm trying to keep on top of. I'm not a 'glam' person, but I know little things like those will help me feel a bit better if I already feel knackered because of everything else!

TeddyBeans · 19/02/2023 16:43

I've just had to get my mumma to cut my toenails 😂 late term pregnancy is so humiliating! I tried shaving my legs the other day ready for the reflexology session I had, that was a laugh as well! Anyone else struggling with personal grooming??

Yup so bad! I’ve got hair appointment and gel nails and gel pedicure booked for tomorrow. Also bought some new fake tan and doing my eyebrows for babies arrival next week. Shaving legs is nightmare and I have to shave my nunnie blind 🤣 going to do it in front of mirror tho before I go in for c section and my legs so leaving them till then as it’s a mission . I know nobody cares apart from me but anything to make you feel nicer at this stage and post birth is worth it if you can xx

havananana · 19/02/2023 20:24

Same, I've got my Shellac and haircut this week.

All the self care makes me feel better

Perexi · 19/02/2023 20:32

Shaving is a real effort atm 🤣 glad it's not just me!
I am going to get my hair done next weekend though as really needs doing and who knows when I'll get there once he arrives.

MillennialMummy · 19/02/2023 20:43

Hi! I've been following these threads for a while and it's getting very exciting seeing all the babies being born! I'll be 36 weeks tomorrow, due date is 20th March but elective section has been booked in for 14th March EEEK!! We have a 4 year old boy already and this baby's gender is a surprise.

Would somebody please be able to send me the link to the Facebook group?

firstlittleone · 19/02/2023 21:43

Hi ladies, I know a while back there was a discussion about apps for after birth - tracking feeding/sleeps and kind of ‘what to expect’ around the weeks. Does anyone happen to know/remember what I mean and remind me of the app names x

TeddyBeans · 19/02/2023 21:50

@MillennialMummy hi! Welcome to the group 😁 will pm you about the FB group!

@firstlittleone I don't know about tracking apps, I never used one with DS but wonder weeks is very helpful for tracking development leaps and understanding changes in their behaviour/routines

I was recommended one called baby tracker for the early day's and remembering what you had or hadn't done etc.....

Congratulations @beatingheartbaby

Gosh I just found the first few stretch marks on my lower belly which makes me want to cry 😭 They’re purple and look angry! Been putting on belly cream since 12W but I guess I’m genetically doomed with my mum’s watermelon stripe belly skin 😢 This also means no going back now haha

JTB123 · 19/02/2023 23:01

@beatingheartbaby congratulations love xxx
