I'm thinking of Ray Anne from My So Called Life now 😍wish they'd put that back on the telly.

I think it's a lovely name! I have always liked girls' names that could be boys' names, like Sandy, Alex, Sam etc. And as far as men with names which are traditionally female are concerned, Stacy Keach didn't do so badly for himself, and John Wayne's real name was Marion. Where I live there are a lot of men named Lesley and Lindsey for some reason? Ryan is a great name for a boy or a girl IMO.

John Wayne's real name was Marion.

A) he changed it to John
B) it was a boys name as well

Again though no matter how many times people try to prove otherwise it simply doesn't happen in reverse.

All of these were originally male names which then became less common for boys as they were used for girls.

I don’t dislike it, there’s something quite chic about it. However I can imagine it might be an easy target for bullies, ‘why have you got a boy’s name’ etc. Recently met a little girl called Wren, a lovely name, apparently it’s been fairly popular for a few years but she’s the first one I’ve seen.
Trad but strong sounding names - Grier. Rowan. Also love the suggestion by another PP of Raine; can I rename my kid 😂 If you’ve thought of Ryan because it sounds good with your second name, what about Mirren?

She’s changed her email to include her (feminine) middle name, so it happens less now now but is still a thing.

But how does that make people know that she's a woman with a man's first name and not a man with a woman's middle name? James Corden's middle name is Kimberley and Richard Gere's is Tiffany!
