Just catching up! 34+2 here and like everyone else, really hitting a brick wall with the constant pelvic pain. Woken constantly by hip pain when sleeping and now beginning to struggle emotionally too. I’m so tired and sore and really struggling to put on a brave face at work! The fear of labour has also started kicking in.

on another note, has anyone any raspberry leaf tea recommendations (taste wise)? Going to start on this and eating dates this week, in an attempt to soften things up for labour!

I drink the Final Push tea and it just tastes like peppermint as the raspberry leaves are not the only ingredient.

My morning routine has been a cup of final push tea, 6 dates, and a decaf coffee with Dose&Co collagen.

I'm hoping collagen will help with the skin recovery post partum.

Basically identical to mine! Final push tea, a coffee and 6 dates. I’m relying on Palmers Cocoa Butter for the stretch marks though 🤪 be warned dates are hideous for blood sugar, I take insulin before mine.

havanamama · 09/02/2023 09:41

@Cuppasoupmonster I know but I also have to admit I eat chocolate daily! 🥲😂

I'm 36 weeks today, so it's last Aspirin tablet tonight! 🙌

I woke up last night and had so much pressure and aches in my pelvis, I am convinced baby has engaged further now. I'll see on Monday at my next midwife appointment 🤞

June628 · 09/02/2023 10:30

Hello ladies. I was on previous threads and lurking on&off since. I’m 36+1 and struggling with everything. Had a MW appt today and growth measurements trending down so she will book me in for a growth scan - a bit worried about that. Earlier this week had some sort of bug and pregnancy sickness back with a vengeance now (it only ever slightly eased off now back to feeling/ being sick all the time). Had pains for 12 hours the other day was worried it might be early labour but a bath and paracetamol fixed it. Just can’t help thinking something is wrong 😞

Choc2022 · 09/02/2023 10:45

@June628 try not to worry. Sounds like they should be on top of it if offering scan etc. What kind of pains did you have? 12 hours seems like a long time to me.

Oh, I do as well - I can easily finish off a sharer bag of chocolate buttons over the course of the day. I get so tired and need the sugar! My meals and other snacks are pretty healthy though so I like to think that’s the main thing 😬 as a type 1 I’m not diet controlled, but still feel a bit guilty!

I had a few period type pains last night which was unusual for me, very mild so I wasn’t worried but wonder whether it’s things very slowly starting to prepare for showdown! 32 weeks tomorrow 😊

June628 · 09/02/2023 11:18

@Choc2022 thank you! They weren’t constant for 12 hours just on and off period pains. Not regular like contractions but I was working so stupidly powered through until I finished then phoned hospital. They weren’t worried just said to have a bath and phone back if things didn’t settle/got worse which they didn’t. Movements were ok so reassured by that but now annoying about the growth scan. Pregnancy is so stressful isn’t it!

havanamama · 09/02/2023 11:51

Is anyone getting a "push" present or gifting themselves something for birthing a child? Or is this an American thing?

It is definitely not a thing in my culture but I'm all about treating myself 😂

TeddyBeans · 09/02/2023 12:00

Oh the tiredness has kicked in here, I woke up at 5 for a wee (had a good 5 hour stretch of sleep) up at 7.30 to get DS ready and off to school, came home and basically passed out for another 2 hours! I just couldn't keep my eyes open

ChristmasJumpers · 09/02/2023 12:59

@Cuppasoupmonster I started getting mild cramps here and there from 32 weeks too, I've not had any for a few days now so just assumed (and hoped) they're normal!

@havanamama I have joked with DH that I want a push present and he has told me (also joking) that I must push the baby out if I want a push present (looking likely it'll be a c section now). Who knows 😂
Lots of people get jewellery but that's not my thing. I'd honestly be happy if he oresented me with a big load of sweets and choc to celebrate the end of GD

iratepirate · 09/02/2023 13:20

Oh wow, I’d never heard of a “push present” before.
Mind: blown.

dmb91 · 09/02/2023 13:24

@ChristmasJumpers
My partner had joked (I think) that I can have a whole new wardrobe as a push present as I've lost over a stone during pregnancy and don't know if my pre pregnancy clothes are all going to be too big

Choc2022 · 09/02/2023 13:26

@havanamama I have hinted for a push present. Im asian and its a thing in our culture also. Doesnt have to be 'big' like jewellery. Unfortunately our financial situation has changed in the last week meaning we have to tighten our belts so push present might be delayed. Im deffo going to pick it though rather than leave it to be a 'suprise'.

ToffeeEl · 09/02/2023 13:41

@havanamama I don't think I'll be getting a present, but did treat myself to one by getting a handbag to use as a baby/pram bag as a push present to myself. And praying it's going to be practical..

havanamama · 09/02/2023 13:44

I think the pushing in the title is not that serious 😄

I don't think my husband knows about these presents, I only expect a huge bouquet of flowers

Myself I have already started to gift with new post partum clothes, treatments, etc cause it has been hard on my body so it deserves presents 😄

I got a diamond ring for my push present last time so I said DP must top it this time with a proposal (we have been together 12 years and still no ring). I won't hold my breathe he's just not bothered about being married!

Rainbowbaby23 · 09/02/2023 14:38

Is anyone around 35 weeks getting strong period cramps? They feel different than my braxton hicks, aren't regular or anything but a bit annoying
been checked for UTI and all clear!

AGirlsNameIsAryaStark · 09/02/2023 14:55

@havanamama i told DH i wanted a push present and he laughed at me and told me the baby was the present 😂i did try and tell him that people get an eternity ring on the birth of their first child but i think it went straight over his head!

Blocklynn · 09/02/2023 15:06

I would quite like a push present but my husband is rubbish at presents. He was surprised I would expect a Mother’s Day present before the baby is old enough to choose something by itself 🤨

I have some dates to try and help with mild constipation, having 2 a day and can barely force them down, I don’t know how some of you are eating 6 of them!!

Eastybaby19 · 09/02/2023 15:18

Had my 37 week consultant appt today & decided to go with a section! Booked for 39+2 on the 27th of February just 2.5 weeks to go! He's measuring perfectly at 6lb 7oz his big Brother was born at 37 weeks and was 6lb 7oz exaclty 🤩.

As for a push present we don't do that kinda thing but I'll be happy with a big grazing box (cheese!! 😍) and a nice bottle of gin 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Haha I could eat a whole box of Medjool dates!!
For the sugar levels I've tamed myself to 6 standard small dates a day 🫣😂

ToffeeEl · 09/02/2023 16:24

Just finished my last day of work until 2024! Time finally sort stuff out and hopefully get some rest in

Maybe I have the wrong ones!
It’s more the texture I’m not keen on 😬

Rose429 · 09/02/2023 17:23

@Blocklynn I really recommend kiwis. The yellow ones taste much nicer than the green ones btw.
