@JB2021 we’re planning on going the 4th March as my parkrun friend can’t go the first week, I’m not totally sure I’ll make it up the hill but I’m going to give it a go 😂

32 weeks and had a midwife check up today. So far everything is looking great, baby is 50th centile and head is down (fingers crossed it stays like that).

I've been having on and off PGP symptoms. Flares up if I've been walking for an hour or, as it did the other day quite painfully if I run for a bus. Mentioned this to my midwife today anf she suggested Epsom Salts in a warm bath, in fact swears by it. Will give it a go and might be worth trying for any others suffering. My PGP flared up literally on the way to aqua aerobics so was worried I wouldnt be able to do much but once I was in the water it disappeared pretty much completely. Its really made me consider a water birth, and midwife was bigging it up today too, does anyone have experience of water births, if so, how did they find it for pain management?

Also on a slightly stranger note, I decided to apply for a new job at work (promotion). Which sounds like an absurd thing to do just over a month away from maternity leave but I was really hoping this position would be available on my return not now and I didn't want to miss the opportunity. Ill be 35 weeks at the time of the interview and looking like a whale but this team don't know Im pregnant or due to go on mat leave and I'd really like to keep it like that so they don't unfairly disregard me for the job. Im already thinking what on earth do I wear and how do I cover it up. And then even if I get the job having to tell them pretty soon after Ill be gone for a year youll need to find mat leave. I dont know if Im causing myself unnecessary stress at a time when I should be trying to be most relaxed but Im also thinking long term and not letting my own career stagnate. This is more of a rant but if anyone has any advice much appreciated or been in a similar situation would be useful to hear.

Do you not want any maternity pay?

It's pretty standard to have to I for the employer by week 25.

Surely they would already know internally that you're leaving?

Babynum2 · 03/02/2023 20:20

@TeddyBeans think most people usually deliver within a week of having it out from the threads I have looked at on here but I think this boy is going to be a pain and take me over!

TeddyBeans · 03/02/2023 20:23

@Babynum2 oh that's exciting! Hope he behaves himself and comes quickly! We need to start the influx on this thread! I've hopped in the bath and all the aches and pains have magically disappeared 🥰 I'm going to be so gutted if I can't have my water birth this time around

OP posts:
havanamama · 03/02/2023 21:07

I read that 80% of babies are born between weeks 39 and 41

Babynum2 · 03/02/2023 21:34

@havanamama makes sense because its usually a week either side of your due date. Also if this is including C sections the majority are done 39 weeks-ish

Rainbowbaby23 · 03/02/2023 21:34

Anyones sickness come back towards the end? Im 34+3 and been vomiting all day. I hope its just a bug because I can’t do this another 4-6 weeks😂

TeddyBeans · 03/02/2023 21:38

@Rainbowbaby23 yuuuup 🤢 I'm blaming DS for giving me a phlegmy cough though. The violence of the cough brings up a tiny bit of phlegm and loads of stomach contents... I think if I didn't have the cough I wouldn't be sicky but I've read that hormones ramp up in the last trimester and can make you feel queasy again

OP posts:
Rainbowbaby23 · 03/02/2023 21:41

Oh the joys😫😂

Raspberry28 · 03/02/2023 21:41

@TeddyBeans ooh so it does really work then, I think I will definitely give it a go. Even if the birth doesnt happen there possibly beforehand just to take off some of the pain/pressure. Obviously you never know what could happen on the day, fingers crossed for you!

@Noodle20 oh sounds very similar then and congratulations! I was sort of thinking the same a black flowy dress with a black suit jacket and just try not stand to the side :/. Its good to know your workplace were supportive despite the inconvenience it caused to them. Obviously theres discrimination laws so they sort of had to, Im just nervous about how awkward it will be, but got to think of yourself first of course.

@havanamama so it's the same organisation (public sector) but just a different team/dept so my manager and my current team know, but my possible new manager/team wouldnt. HR know though and I guess that would just stay the same. I did ask my HR rep and they said that I'm completely entitled to go for it without impacting mat leave.

iratepirate · 03/02/2023 21:45

@Rainbowbaby23 mine has never left but it’s still as bad as ever.

Rainbowbaby23 · 03/02/2023 21:49

@iratepirate oh no! I had HG up until about 25 weeks then it stopped thankfully. Hoping it’s not near as bad

AGirlsNameIsAryaStark · 03/02/2023 22:24

@Rainbowbaby23 i literally came on to write this! Been sick 3+ times today and felt as nauseous as I did at 12 weeks 🤢

Room4onemore · 03/02/2023 22:30

No sickness here but generally feeling rubbish today. Jumped in the bath cause I’m uncomfortable whichever way I sit down and got a back ache

Rainbowbaby23 · 03/02/2023 22:34

@AGirlsNameIsAryaStark loving the username!😂

think it may be a bug as I've had a bit of the runs (tmi)🥴

havanamama · 03/02/2023 22:38

I've luckily not been sick since week 14.

Choc2022 · 03/02/2023 23:43

I wish I could stay in the bath all day!

JB2021 · 04/02/2023 01:09

@Blocklynn i know the deal with inaugurals as it was a big fear when we launched Dishley! But I've never run one and want a couple of weeks at "mny home run before baby arrives.

I'm sure we will know people in common!

Cats23 · 04/02/2023 05:14

What a morning yesterday
Reduced movement again, cancelled work ( Im self employed but still feel crappy let work down last min) local hospital is 15mins away (no maternity just ante-natal clinic) got there 8.30am, all well with heart rate, few movements but still not 'normal' had an extra growth scan all ok , baby is 4lb ( Im 33weeks) BUT measurements hace dropped since 2weeks ago, back next friday for monotoring and then 2xweeks Friday for further growth scan, if dropped will look at bringing induction at about 37-38weeks.
I did also mention possibility of being sterilised whilst having an elective c-sect...., my reasons would be valid enough ( Csect at with Dc1 at 27weeks due to pre-eclampsia, last 4 pregnancies have been classed high risk as a result of DC1, vbacs with th last 3x though and no issues, im nearly 38 and this DC is certainly our last (#5) ) Waiting list here for sterisation is 2-3yrs.
I left hospital at 1pm in end.

Cats23 · 04/02/2023 05:15

oh and if any more episodes of reduced movement, I must got to the main hosipital-1hr 10min away

TeddyBeans · 04/02/2023 08:42

@Cats23 sounds hectic! Pleased you got checked out though, sounds like they are taking proper precautions which is good. Hopefully your growth scan goes well and bubs has chunked some weight on. Did they say whether you'd be able to be sterilised during the section?

TeddyBeans · 04/02/2023 08:45

I had a weird night last night. Went to be as usual but woke up at 1 with this very uncomfortable radial cramp that went all the way from my back through my bump about 3/4 the way up. It stayed put for a good 10 minutes before easing off and I haven't had anything since. Bubs is wriggling like a goodun this morning so not concerned but yeah, was very uncomfortable

OP posts:
Cuppasoupmonster · 04/02/2023 10:18

@Cats23 hope you’re okay, would you/they consider slightly early induction for reduced
movements? (sorry if you’ve already posted about this!)

@TeddyBeans owch!!! Is it any better this morning?

What are your plans for the day ladies? Happy Saturday ☕️ xx

TeddyBeans · 04/02/2023 11:49

@Cuppasoupmonster yeah fine this morning thanks 😊 DS has been a needy monster this morning and DP went out last night so is still fast asleep. He doesn't know yet that he's taking DS out this afternoon so I can get 5 minutes peace

OP posts:
Room4onemore · 04/02/2023 13:24

I got induced at 36+3 with one of my others due to reduced movements. She weighed 6lb 3 so was still a good weight for 36 weeks. I’ve been in twice for reduced movements so far, hopefully I won’t need to go in again but if I was induced that early again I would definitely ask for an epidural
