@Katlouise24 From what I can see baby was just above 90th and now dropped below so think it's pretty routine they have to do it. Ideally baby should follow the line but they aren't always accurate with the bump measurement so I wouldn't worry plus you get to see baby again.

TeddyBeans · 03/02/2023 13:42

@Katlouise24 because you've gone down centiles on fundal height they send you for a scan as back up to make sure baby's a good size. Nothing to worry about 😊

@Babynum2 just to make life that much harder! Sunday isn't that far away so we'll celebrate anyway 🥳🥳 I'll be 37 weeks on Sunday! I don't feel like she's as big as DS, even though she'll be pretty much the same weight if she sticks to her current centile

@TeddyBeans ahh we are so close yet so far 🤣 I just really don't want to go over.
I have no idea what baby weight will be my boy was 5.5lb at 34 weeks and girl was 7.11 at 36 weeks so I think they both probably would have been on the larger side if I went full term. I hate not knowing when it's all going to start both my labour's were identical started with waters breaking and then 5 hours later they was here so hoping I have it the same again but this baby is back to back still and doesn't want to move!
Do you feel anything yet?

havanamama · 03/02/2023 14:15

BabyLimey · 03/02/2023 12:59

Is anyone else a bit blown away/shocked at how strong baby’s movements are getting? Baby’s feet are under my ribs and I cannot believe how strongly they kick/push against me. Still 4.5 weeks to go!

How interesting!
My midwife literally told me the further I go, the less strong the kicks will be as baby obviously has less space to fully stretch ligaments, etc.

And that's definitely been true for me - movements are we frequent as always but less strong.

havanamama · 03/02/2023 14:17

I got cute baby pink gel manicure today 💅🏼
In week 36 now, so feels like she could be here any day but also have a feeling she will be late...

NM1819 · 03/02/2023 14:47

I have a question for everyone/anyone. Midwife said on Tuesday she would like to see me again in 2 weeks (would be 34+5) but didn't have any appts until 2 weeks after. Asked what I wanted to do so I said if she's happy to postpone I'm happy. She said if I wanted to bee seen in the 2 weeks just to call and they'll squeeze me in somewhere. I think I would like to be seen as feeling a bit crappy at the moment - would you call and ask to be booked in?

iratepirate · 03/02/2023 14:48

@NM1819 yes. If you’re feeling like you need to see them, they’ll fit you in. Give them a call!

Dreamingof3 · 03/02/2023 15:50

Re dummies @TeddyBeans my eldest hadn't long given hers up when my second came along and there was never an issue. She'd sometimes mention that she used to have one but never made an attempt to go back to it

Blocklynn · 03/02/2023 15:59

Ugh, I have suddenly started feeling massive, tired and grumpy. 33 weeks today so potentially still ages to go!
Can’t seem to get myself out of this grump and anxiety is playing up. I’m not worried about the birth, more the coping with a baby afterwards (FTM so everything will be new).
I’m terrible without sleep and my husband seems to think I’ll be the one having an easy time when he goes back to work. He thinks the baby will be in a routine by then and I will be able to sleep whenever I want.

Babynum2 · 03/02/2023 16:06

@Blocklynn your not alone sending hugs my anxiety has been really bad I can't actually put my finger on what for though. I'm also feeling large and fed up at nearly 36 weeks but I started to feel that way around 33ish to.

Cuppasoupmonster · 03/02/2023 16:48

@Blocklynn sounds like you’ve reached the ‘heavily pregnant lady’ stage for sure! I find all the practical worries suddenly rear up as it all seems a lot closer x

havanamama · 03/02/2023 16:50

@Blocklynn @Babynum2 I'm anxious too, about the birth, how the baby will change our relationship, how I'll cope with minimal me time as an introverted person, and the physical recovery 🫣

JB2021 · 03/02/2023 17:17

@Blocklynn also FTM and a parkrunner and we are local so perhaps we could meet? I'm planning on doing Joanne Heckles buggy class at Beacon Hill

Blocklynn · 03/02/2023 17:36

@Babynum2 @Cuppasoupmonster @havanamama glad it isn’t just me but sorry to hear you are all having worries too xx

Babynum2 · 03/02/2023 17:37

@havanamama hopefully the aftercare in your area is good because mine was excellent with my first I had PND after my first think I was just to young to have a kid and I was on my own and my HV referred me to a specialist and helped me join baby groups and them types of things they was amazing. With the birth I'm not going to sugar coat it but honestly it's just amazing holding your baby afterwards and feeling so proud you grew that little human inside you!

Blocklynn · 03/02/2023 17:42

@JB2021 that would be nice 😊
Have you heard there is a parkrun starting at Beacons Hill this month 👀

Room4onemore · 03/02/2023 17:47

Not feeling it today, big and fed up and I have this nervy feeling that I’m going to be early so that’s stressing me out as well

Choc2022 · 03/02/2023 18:15

@Blocklynn SAME!! And also just turned 33 weeks.

Tmi but I was looking at myself in the mirror today and wondered how this big belly/bump could be squeezed out of me!! I really freaked myself out.

Raspberry28 · 03/02/2023 18:25

32 weeks and had a midwife check up today. So far everything is looking great, baby is 50th centile and head is down (fingers crossed it stays like that).

I've been having on and off PGP symptoms. Flares up if I've been walking for an hour or, as it did the other day quite painfully if I run for a bus. Mentioned this to my midwife today anf she suggested Epsom Salts in a warm bath, in fact swears by it. Will give it a go and might be worth trying for any others suffering. My PGP flared up literally on the way to aqua aerobics so was worried I wouldnt be able to do much but once I was in the water it disappeared pretty much completely. Its really made me consider a water birth, and midwife was bigging it up today too, does anyone have experience of water births, if so, how did they find it for pain management?

Also on a slightly stranger note, I decided to apply for a new job at work (promotion). Which sounds like an absurd thing to do just over a month away from maternity leave but I was really hoping this position would be available on my return not now and I didn't want to miss the opportunity. Ill be 35 weeks at the time of the interview and looking like a whale but this team don't know Im pregnant or due to go on mat leave and I'd really like to keep it like that so they don't unfairly disregard me for the job. Im already thinking what on earth do I wear and how do I cover it up. And then even if I get the job having to tell them pretty soon after Ill be gone for a year youll need to find mat leave. I dont know if Im causing myself unnecessary stress at a time when I should be trying to be most relaxed but Im also thinking long term and not letting my own career stagnate. This is more of a rant but if anyone has any advice much appreciated or been in a similar situation would be useful to hear.

TeddyBeans · 03/02/2023 18:31

@Babynum2 oh they do sound like they would have been good weights at full term! Your labours sound like a dream, if mine happens like that naturally then I'll be a happy lady. I've had a couple of really low down cramps this evening but nothing to write home about really. I don't know what I'd do if she decides to come this early. I'm ready but totally not ready at the same time 😅

@Dreamingof3 ah perfect, thank you!

TeddyBeans · 03/02/2023 18:34

@Raspberry28 I wasn't allowed a water birth in the end because DS needed constant monitoring but I did get in the bath during early labour and the pain literally vanished. It was wonderful! I'm really keeping everything crossed that I can have a water birth this time, I really think it'll be my dream birthing experience

JB2021 · 03/02/2023 18:43

@Blocklynn i have! I know the ED and ambassador. I'm hoping to go!

Noodle20 · 03/02/2023 18:55

@Raspberry28 so I went for an internal promotion for the same reason as you - not wanting to miss out on the opportunity even though I felt timing was all wrong. I wore a loose fitting shirt with a jacket over it. No one suspected a thing. I was super shocked to get a call offering me the job and when I asked HR if the dept knew I would be off on Mat Leave soon, they said they didn't at the time but know now and are fine with it (they kinda have to be I guess). The job is still mine and I officially start when I return after Mat Leave. I felt terrible not saying anything but I thought they'd discriminate against me even tho legally they can't.
So good luck and fingers crossed you smash it

Babynum2 · 03/02/2023 19:00

@TeddyBeans I think I only have quick labour's because of my shortened cervix to be fair! 1 week until my stitch is taken out. I feel like when you get to this stage every little thing that happenes stops you and makes you think ahhh is this it!!

TeddyBeans · 03/02/2023 19:12

@Babynum2 do you think you'll go straight into labour once it's removed? I know what you mean though, since the cramps started I've had some heavier than normal discharge and literally my brain went to 'what if it's the start of my mucus plug!?' it's not but you immediately think of it. You can tell we're all late stage pregnancies now - so done with everything 😂
