@beatingheartbaby hope you managed to get some rest

beatingheartbaby · 03/02/2023 08:19

Thanks @TeddyBeans slept from about 2-4 then was on the ctg from 4.30-6 and slept from then until half 7. Got to wait for doctors rounds now to sign off if I can go home, fingers crossed lol.

TeddyBeans · 03/02/2023 09:42

@beatingheartbaby ouch 😫 hope you're allowed home so you can get a decent sleep!

Has anyone had any issues with older children taking dummies from the new babies? DS had a dummy til he was almost 2, he's almost 5 now so I don't think it'll be an issue but I don't know whether he'll have an in built desire for dummies 🤔

allthingssparkly · 03/02/2023 11:05

What are your thoughts on the baby sleeping bags? I didn't use one with my children, however I don't know whether one will be worth purchasing 🤔

I have bought a few and some friends have given some second hand as they all loved them, seemed easier than blankets for me so I'm going with it. This is my first though so I'm definitely winging it!

beatingheartbaby · 03/02/2023 11:28

I got a sleeping bag in the tu sale for £8 figured that's worth trying at sale price lol we also have a swaddle as well so I guess will see what baby likes lol

allthingssparkly · 03/02/2023 11:55

Thank you both, maybe I'll see if I can get my hands on one, but go for a 1.5 tog rather than 2.5 seen as we are going into the spring/summer season soon enough x

TeddyBeans · 03/02/2023 11:59

I have velcro swaddles and sleeping bags, they're much safer than blankets imo! Doesn't hurt to get a variety of things though, they don't always like what you want them to 😂

OP posts:
allthingssparkly · 03/02/2023 12:11

@TeddyBeans There's far too much choice 😆😆 I just want to make sure I've got most things covered 🤭

TeddyBeans · 03/02/2023 12:17

@allthingssparkly oh I agree! We started with sleeping bags but DS's startle reflex was really strong so he needed his arms pinning down 😂 he slept so much better with a dummy and a swaddle blanket but then moved back into a sleeping bag by about 6 months

OP posts:
iratepirate · 03/02/2023 12:29

We used blankets to begin with last time and sleeping bags from about 6m. Worked fine, plan to do the same.

Room4onemore · 03/02/2023 12:36

Been to b&q to get the paint for our bedroom, as it needs doing before baby comes and just ran into the chip shop and got some chips for lunch. What’s everyone else upto?

Babynum2 · 03/02/2023 12:57

Rant warning:

Why does everything hit at once? I put my car in for an MOT this morning and when I got home DS has thrown up in my bed so off nursery, DP has left to work away for 3 days, the dog has just had a wee on my rug and it's all blood so had to rush him to vets (without car and DS in hand) and my HG is full force today!

On a positive I have my physio appointment booked for Tuesday for my PGP.

BabyLimey · 03/02/2023 12:59

Is anyone else a bit blown away/shocked at how strong baby’s movements are getting? Baby’s feet are under my ribs and I cannot believe how strongly they kick/push against me. Still 4.5 weeks to go!

TeddyBeans · 03/02/2023 13:00

Bloody hell @Babynum2 that sounds like a riot! Are you okay? Is your dog okay??

OP posts:
Babynum2 · 03/02/2023 13:09

@TeddyBeans I'm fine I'm just have a sit down before DD school run and picking car up. I just feel really unwell and fed up of being pregnant I never felt like this last 2 times but then I've never got this far in a pregnancy so maybe why. I don't sleep at night due to my back either 😒

dog has a suspected urine infection and antibiotics £117 later 🥴

Cuppasoupmonster · 03/02/2023 13:13

What is it with the dogs, mine has ear infection and cut her paw on a glass I broke last week so that’s a few hundred quid down the drain on antibiotics and treatment and now she’s moody as hell because we can’t take her for runs until her foot is better! DD also been off with a temperature bug so no sleep and a very cranky child 🥴🥴🥴

iratepirate · 03/02/2023 13:20

I’m having one of those annoying days where everything is taking longer than it should.
PGP from this morning’s jog is making sitting at my desk q uncomfortable.
Currently trying to sort out logistics to attend a work meeting which would be either 5.5hrs drive or 8hr train each way and the thought of either is not filling me with joy.

TeddyBeans · 03/02/2023 13:26

@BabyLimey this is where I get a bit smug that I have an anterior placenta, it definitely softens the blow 🙈

@Babynum2 congratulations on your longest ever pregnancy! I'm sorry that you're struggling - it sucks! Hopefully you feel better soon. Hope your little one feels better quickly as well. My dog decided to eat a plastic pot about 6 months ago, we almost lost him. If my mum hadn't agreed to exploratory surgery to find out what the shadow on his x-ray was he would have died, his entire intestine was blocked. Cost £5.5k 😱😱 thank god for insurance!

@Room4onemore I'm sat watching Emma Willis delivering babies 😂 I should be catching up on my scrapbook but the procrastination is strong in me

OP posts:
TeddyBeans · 03/02/2023 13:26

@iratepirate fuck that for a laugh! Is there a remote option?

OP posts:
iratepirate · 03/02/2023 13:27

I wish there was @TeddyBeans 🫤

TeddyBeans · 03/02/2023 13:29

@iratepirate I'm devastated for you 😫

OP posts:
Katlouise24 · 03/02/2023 13:36

So I've been referred for a second growth scan as the midwife has said growth has dropped. She didn't really explain anything and I haven't the foggiest what she could mean - first baby lol. Anyone able to explain to me haha :)

Babynum2 · 03/02/2023 13:37

@Cuppasoupmonster oh he's definitely not my friend at the moment after having the vets finger up his bum this morning.

@TeddyBeans we don't have insurance he's old now nearly12 and
My partners ex security dog so he isn't the friendly fun pet type so was a struggle in the vets he also doesn't like other animals. Just glad it's done now!
Thank-you for the congratulations it's not actually until Sunday when I hit 36 weeks as that's bang on when I had my daughter but I'm definitely a lot bigger with this baby so struggling
