I know, I suppose I'd just be worrying at home so I'm in the best place but still.

Rainbowbaby23 · 02/02/2023 17:18

Just had a growth scan at 34+2 and baby is measuring 6lbs 1oz😳😳 over 99th percentile so now im being tested for gestational diabetes

LaForza101 · 02/02/2023 18:12

I've had my second scan for polyhydramnios and all good. Normal measurement this time!

Sonographer explained that it can just be a matter of baby's position and to think of what happens when you move in the bath - deeper pocket of water if you move to one side vs. displacing the water equally around you from the middle of the bath.

Wish I had known this 4 weeks ago when I first had mild polyhydramnios on my notes but here we are!

36 weeks tomorrow and it all feels quite real now!

What centile is the abdomen on, is it pushing the weight up? Or is baby big and long all over?

Rainbowbaby23 · 02/02/2023 20:26

she didnt do individual percentiles, although his stomach and head both measured 36w3ds😂

TeddyBeans · 02/02/2023 20:32

@Rainbowbaby23 didn't you get a scan report that looks like this?

Yes that's it 😊 looks like everything is relatively normal, not sure why they've sent you for a GTT. It won't do much at this late stage anyway

OP posts:
TeddyBeans · 02/02/2023 20:49

@Rainbowbaby23 although you say you're 34+2, they seem to have your gestational age down as 35+5

Rainbowbaby23 · 02/02/2023 20:50

I think its more to do with the sudden jump in growth, and there was also some glucose in my urine🙃

I’m having a relax in the bath, need to sort my hospital bag out tomorrow just incase I’m early, don’t think I will be but you never know

TeddyBeans · 02/02/2023 21:03

@Rainbowbaby23 did you eat before you did your urine sample? I had loads of glucose in my wee before my first consultant appt because I'd had sugary cereal 😂 I conducted an experiment at my next appointment and made sure I'd not eaten for 2 hours and drank plenty of water - lo and behold, no glucose!

I'm in the bath too! It's a daily occurrence for me. Helps with the restless legs and apparently stops my hips being quite so achey in bed as I found out after I skipped yesterday's bath as a test - never again!

I'm going to sort the last bits for my hospital bags over the weekend too. 37 weeks on Sunday so could go at any minute 😬

Rainbowbaby23 · 02/02/2023 21:08

@TeddyBeans Had 2 sausage rolls?🤣🤣 but thats all I had eaten the whole day beforehand 😂 im sure time will tell, have another growth scan in 2 weeks to atleast another chance to see baby before he is here:)

Room4onemore · 02/02/2023 21:08

@TeddyBeans so exciting these last few weeks, waiting for the babies to start arriving! I’m 34 weeks tomorrow so a maximum of 6 weeks for me. This weekend I’m putting my 1 year old in with her sisters to get her used to it and so I can finally sort our bedroom out and get the snuzpod ready. It needs painting as well so I need to get that out of the way

TeddyBeans · 02/02/2023 21:17

@Rainbowbaby23 when's your GTT? Enjoy your next scan, I love these extra opportunities to see bubs before they arrive 🥰

@Room4onemore good luck with the room move, hope it goes smoothly! I love decorating 🥰 unfortunately where DD is in with us and then going into DS's room, there isn't much to do for her specifically. I'm tempted to paint some of DS's room pink as he has a lovely mint green and it would look lovely with a pink accent wall but that won't need doing for a year or so yet 🙁

OP posts:
Rainbowbaby23 · 02/02/2023 21:21

@TeddyBeans Quickest they could get me in is the 11th so over a week away and it was supposedly ‘urgent’😂

TeddyBeans · 02/02/2023 21:26

@Rainbowbaby23 sounds like my kind of urgent 😂

Cuppasoupmonster · 02/02/2023 21:27

@TeddyBeans i will also have a boy/girl pair, and we have 2 bedrooms and a box room which needs to stay as a home office as it needs lots of equipment and we wfh full time pretty much.

Our bedroom is quite big so I’m creating a nursery ‘area’ with the crib, changing table and some small drawers and will probably put up some wall stickers just to feel more nursery like! But after 6 months I’m not too sure what will happen, all being well we will move House towards the end of the year so he should have his own room. If not we will probably have to move him into DD’s pale pink bedroom 😆 We only painted it last year so don’t think I can face a revamp for a while!

TeddyBeans · 02/02/2023 21:32

@Cuppasoupmonster sounds lovely 🥰 we did that at my parents house - they were absolute legends and moved into their box room so we could have the master for the 10 months we lived with them when we had DS. I painted purple mountains all over his cot wall 🥰

We only moved into this flat a year ago (Dec 2021) so everything is freshly decorated - I know what you mean about not wanting to touch it yet!

Babynum2 · 02/02/2023 22:15

My DD and DS share they have mint green room also with bunkbeds but my DD is turning 10 in December so we will move this year I rent through HA and have found someone to swap with that has 3 bedrooms sep dining room so fingers crossed she will get her own room soon bless her. Baby will just be in with us and then can go in with his brother eventually the boys can share i don't see any problems in that. I have been nesting painting wood work around the house I'm so bored at home not working!!

MSS22 · 02/02/2023 22:21

Hi, can someone post the Facebook page link. I was in it but seem to have deleted it. Thanks

Choc2022 · 02/02/2023 22:27

I woke up this morning with the worst pain. I think either round ligament or Braxton Hicks, it made me screech but it was just the once. Since then baby not moving as much and my bloods dipped to 2.5 then shot up to 11.9 after lunch. Definitely been a funny day.

Blondewave · 02/02/2023 23:35

beatingheartbaby · 02/02/2023 15:33

I know, I suppose I'd just be worrying at home so I'm in the best place but still.

My hospital has a policy that if the mum isn’t happy about baby movements even after CTG monitoring and reassurance they keep you in over night. It’s just protocol x

beatingheartbaby · 03/02/2023 00:39

@Blondewave yeah I guess it's the same here. Girl in next bed to me is snoring away lol I'm wide awake 😂😂 I'm due to be woken up at 4.15 for more monitoring worried I won't have even managed any sleep before then x
