@NM1819 generally at this point babies put on half a pound a week, so looks like you can expect an 8-9 pounder 😊

Franklin321 · 31/01/2023 19:49

@NM1819 I had a scan last week at 33 weeks and estimated 5lbs 5oz, potentially 9lbs ish full term but can be off so definitely just an estimation!

Thirdtimesacharm3 · 31/01/2023 19:53

Apparently about 75% of the time scans this late over estimate weight. I’m hoping that’s the case with the 6lbs 9estimate I got at 34+4 last week!!

TeddyBeans · 31/01/2023 20:08

Well I just typed replies to pretty much everyone that's posted today and Mumsnet just crashed on me. FFS 😡😡

Whoever was asking about pictures above the cot, I recommend these hooks, they're excellent!

Okay, thanks. Hoping it was an over estimation then!

Rainbowbaby23 · 31/01/2023 20:26

Wasn’t feeling the best, have a bad headache and been getting PAINFUL braxton hicks. Tested my urine to see if there were any signs of infection but was clear but did show 4+ of ketones so very dehydrated. Called triage and they said as long as the pains aren't regular then not to worry and to drop in a urine sample to my GP tomorrow🙄

Deut28 · 31/01/2023 20:47

@Rose429 Daily hiccups over here too, sometimes more than one bout a day. My first DC was multiple times a day every day and hiccuped a lot as a newborn too.

havanamama · 31/01/2023 20:55

My baby had hiccups during the scan today and I realised that what I previously thought were hiccups were just movements!

It was odd to see on the screen her little tummy hiccuping away.

So it's actually the first time it's happened and I'm nearly 35 weeks my

havanamama · 31/01/2023 21:01

Re centiles - how interesting some of you saying that the data gets more accurate and some that it's not 😄
She's my first baby so I'm clueless, but happy she's plotting above the average

AGirlsNameIsAryaStark · 31/01/2023 21:41

@NM1819 i had a scan Friday which was 31+4, baby was estimated to be 3.9lbs. They said they should put on about half a pound a week between now and birth to give you an idea!

ChristmasJumpers · 31/01/2023 21:44

@Cuppasoupmonster I have had a trace of protein a couple of times, once they sent it off for further tests but nothing has ever come of it

@NM1819 I had my 32 week scan today and have been told baby girl is estimated 4lbs which I think is bang on average but means shes not grown as much as expected. Like you say though they can't be that accurate so I'm taking it with a pinch of salt

So today (and at every single scan since 12 weeks) baby is Frank breech. Another growth scan in 4 weeks so I just have to hope she spins herself around!

Cuppasoupmonster · 31/01/2023 21:51

AGirlsNameIsAryaStark · 31/01/2023 21:41

Eeeeek mine was 3lb1 at 28+4. As I’m only going to 37ish weeks I’m thinking high 7s, maybe full term he would be 8s or even 9! I think the next scan in a couple of weeks will give me a better idea - my bump doesn’t seem to have got bigger for a few weeks in fact even my extremely unobservant DH remarked that it had plateaued today. I’ve been obsessing over my blood sugars though so hoping that’s the reason. Average reading now 5.8 and 92% time in range 🥵 it’s like riding a unicycle across a tightrope!

I’m very unhappy with my workplace as the issue of my maternity leave is not yet settled, yet I’m due to go off in 2 weeks time. We were supposed to have a meeting about it this week but it’s been cancelled because our boss is unwell. The issue is I was supposed to be sitting some exams in May, but nobody seems able to determine whether I can do them when I come back from mat leave or not, plus a few other technicalities. I thought we had it all sorted but apparently not 🤷🏼‍♀️ It feels like every arrangement we set suddenly can’t happen because of X or Y.

Room4onemore · 31/01/2023 22:04

Had a scan today and baby is ok, breach position so scan in 2 weeks to check that, dropped down a little on the centiles so they keeping an eye on that as well

TeddyBeans · 31/01/2023 22:08

My estimated weight was 5lbs 3oz at 34 weeks. I have another one tomorrow to see how she's getting on. Fully expecting her to be 6lbs 3oz as she's gone from 32 weeks - 4lbs 3oz, 34 weeks - 5lbs 3oz. I'll be disappointed if it's anything else really 😂

Choc2022 · 01/02/2023 01:06

@NM1819 had one on Monday 32.4 weeks and estimated 4lbs 9. Im only 5'1 though - not sure if that means anything. But I've dropped from 97th centile to 60th centile. I've not found 'reliable' information regarding centile changes so I'm not stressing about it (yet).

Thanks for the hook reccomendations @TeddyBeans

Room4onemore · 01/02/2023 05:03

Well I’m awake as I have another GTT tomorrow so couldn’t take my gaviscon and my heartburn is having a disco

TeddyBeans · 01/02/2023 07:18

@Room4onemore that was always the part about GTTs that I hated the most 😭 you have my sympathies

TeddyBeans · 01/02/2023 07:22

Well it's February, I can finally say I'm due this month 😱 25 days til due date which is absolutely bonkers. Scan at 11.30, my mumma's coming with me today 🥰

Room4onemore · 01/02/2023 07:22

@TeddyBeans typically it was the best night sleep my 1 year old has had and I was awake for most of it

allthingssparkly · 01/02/2023 07:38

Morning ladies,

I need your advice, particularly from those of you that have previously laboured naturally/earlier than term.

I've been woken up since 5.30am with cramping on and off, breathing through it, finding I get relief rocking on all fours. I've managed to have a shower, however the cramps keep coming and going. I've only just downloaded a contraction timer app on my phone - never used one previously as I was induced with both my children after 40 weeks.

I'm only 35w2d, but things feel different this morning. My bump feels so solid 😬 if you went into labour pre term or laboured naturally, what signs and symptoms did you have?

Babynum2 · 01/02/2023 08:27

@allthingssparkly 2 pre term natural labour's here my waters went first with both (34weeks+36weeks) but soon after I had the cramping which ramped up to actual contractions. If its a continuous cramp it's unlikely labour but If they are coming in waves call triage ASAP and do not let them palm you off. Keep us updated.

TeddyBeans · 01/02/2023 08:27

@Room4onemore oh that's just typical 😭 how disappointing for you

@allthingssparkly ooooh! I know it's early but it sounds promising! Keep us posted won't you?

OP posts:
Room4onemore · 01/02/2023 08:38

@allthingssparkly hope your doing ok. Ooohhh maybe this will be the start of the baby’s coming along. I’m not sure I’ll get to 40 weeks with the amount of time I’m in hospital lol but that’s only 6+1 weeks away 😳

Blocklynn · 01/02/2023 08:53

@Rose429 daily hiccups here too!

@NM1819 my 32 week scan on Friday estimated 4lb 8oz.

Hope everything is ok @allthingssparkly !

Does anyone’s bump get tight when they walk quickly?
I’ve had to stop running as was getting too much pressure underneath. But am still walking and if I do parkrun I walk as quickly as I can. After a while my bump gets really hard and quite sore, especially on the right side.
