We don't have a ladder and my mum agrees with him so won't lend hers. I feel like I'm in the olden days. So so frustrated!! He has booked tomorrow off work to paint but the walls aren't ready now 😒

I'd definitely do it when he's out.

My partner is a bit like that at the moment and wont let me do thing's (he's just trying to look after us.) He's out tonight and I've scrubbed the bathroom, he just doesn't do it properly and he's worried about me hurting my back and the chemicals hurting the baby but I just couldn't deal with asking him to do it properly again and hurting his feelings 😳😳 in theory he shouldn't notice as he thinks it was ok.....

ChristmasJumpers · 30/01/2023 22:19

I'm just so frustrated that I didn't take it into my own hands sooner. I so badly wanted to get it painted and furniture built before the weekend so I could relax (we're going away with friend for the weekend). But with it going dark so early, I only get daylight while I'm working. I will not allow the walls to be painted until I'm happy that they're properly prepped though!!

I got judged tonight by 3 close family members for saying that I'll try breastfeeding but if there's lack of supply, any bleeding, cracking, etc. that's putting me in pain, I'll without a doubt swap to formula.

🥲 i did share with them that I felt judged and that I understand the BF benefits, but believe fed is best and that formula is good enough to use as an alternative to not have to put myself through physical pain.

It's sad, but I am happy that conversation happened now rather than when I'm 1 week post partum, vulnerable, hormonal, and someone shares their strong opinions when visiting us. 😕
I'm going to have another conversation to say how I would like them to keep their strong opinions and unsolicited advice to themselves...

Yikes that's rough of them, hopefully they'll understand but if not it's totally your choice and fed is definitely best!

I'm going in with similar mindset as know so many people who have struggled with breastfeeding and I'm just not up for putting that sort of pressure on myself! Also baby formula is so highly regulated it's one of the safest thing's you can buy.

Thank you ❤️ I needed a bit of support from other mums to be as Al through my husband is supportive, it's easy to start
doubting yourself when it's other mums/mums to be that judge :(

@Blocklynn that is super cute! Did you make that yourself?

JG24 · 30/01/2023 23:00

This is a really random one but how has everyone stored the baby clothes? The baby's room got painted at the weekend so I started trying to put all the clothes, hats, scratch mittens, bibs etc away in drawers and they are so tiny I can't figure out how to do it!
I tried rolling them up and storing different items in different ikea drawer dividers but I know once the baby's here all never keep them that neat!

JG24 · 30/01/2023 23:01

Also any other tips on nursery storage and organisation let me know!

I use ikea divider boxes as that's what I use for my own

Choc2022 · 31/01/2023 01:02

@JG24 I intend to hang all the outfits and put the vests into the drawers. We have a large ikea pax wardrobe and I am the type of person that needs to 'see' the clothes otherwise they'd not get worn. Its a large wardrobe with 2 shelves, one long rail and two drawers. Im hoping to fit all of baby stuff in including muslins and towels etc. The bottom to use for extra nappies and wipes or boxes and the shelves for baby sling and other random bits. The wardrobe is in a seperate room to baby room though. Baby room is a tiny box room and intend to have a cot, cot top changer, rolling trolley and a chair.

Dreamingof3 · 31/01/2023 05:48

Love the blanket @TeddyBeans ....still not finished mine 😂

I can't remember my insomnia being this bad before....I've slept a full 40 minutes I think. Given up and come downstairs, got a wash on, done the girls lunches for school and now having a coffee and watching the walking dead 😂 some serious Braxton Hicks kicking off too 😵‍💫

ChristmasJumpers · 31/01/2023 07:22

I couldn't sleep after going to the loo last night and I think I felt the baby spin around about 180° while I was lying awake in bed! It was a very strange sensation, made me feel a bit sick. It took her about 10 minutes to get around too. I just hope she was going from breech to head down and not the other way around 😂

32 week scan this afternoon I will find out

Blocklynn · 31/01/2023 07:39

@havanamama yes I made it, saw this and wanted to make my own version so gave it a go. Mine has ended up a bit bigger and cheaper!

35 week app with consultant went great they said he is back to back though and will induce Mr by 40 weeks if he doesn't come by himsel. Got to try some exercises to try and move him into position and I've been referred for physio for my pains

havanamama · 31/01/2023 10:47

Had a growth scan - baby is 5lbs11 ☺️ one final scan in 2 weeks!

I was a bit worried as in these 4 weeks she has gone from 80th to 77th and now to 63rd centile, and the umbilical artery has gone from 50th to 46th and now to 9th centile, but the lady doing the scan reassured me that baby is totally fine measurement wise.
A nurse I know also said that baby is gaining weight well, so I should relax. 😮‍💨

Choc2022 · 31/01/2023 11:48

Wow so many people are so close!! Good luck to all in what seems like the final weeks.

@havanamama im 32 weeks and went from 97th centile to 60th - assured it was all ok but unsure what to make of it.

Random question: has anyone here ever hung framed prints on top of a cot? Is it safe to do so?

Cuppasoupmonster · 31/01/2023 12:02

I find the centiles often change a bit as you move through the final trimester - it’s the part where the baby’s growth is the most noticeable so they get a more accurate idea of where abouts they’re sitting, whereas before the difference is so tiny that it’s more of a guess (if that makes sense). DD’s legs had a huge growth spurt in her final few weeks whereas her head shrunk a bit 😂 and her weight went down about 10 centiles i think.

Got my next growth scan on the 14th, hoping the abdomen will have gone down a bit and the rest stays the same.

Just having my first cup of the Final Push tea, if I don’t post tonight you’ll know it’s sent me into labour 😂 Itching to get the crib up now and put his little sleeping bag in it but I know it’s too early 🤦🏼‍♀️ Plus they’re jobs for mat leave as all being well ill finish at 33 weeks on the 17th!!! 😮

ChristmasJumpers · 31/01/2023 12:03

@Choc2022 I'd be interested in this too as I have some prints coming that I'd like to hang above the cot!

Cuppasoupmonster · 31/01/2023 12:06

Re the prints I don’t see why not - if they fell would they land in the cot? It’s highly unlikely they would fall but maybe pull the cot out slightly for peace of mind.

allthingssparkly · 31/01/2023 12:23

I've got prints on a shelf above the cot in the nursery and they're secure, no risk of them falling off. Just make sure they're secure on the wall and you should be fine @Choc2022 🙂

allthingssparkly · 31/01/2023 12:24

Car seat blankets, what are people's thoughts? Have you used them before with previous children? Bought one this time round? X

allthingssparkly · 31/01/2023 12:27

@Cuppasoupmonster I ordered that final push tea from holland and barrett yesterday 🤭 let me know how you get on with it ☕️

Franklin321 · 31/01/2023 13:15

34 week consultant appointment today, gave me a provisional section date but also making me go for a final scan and appointment at 37 weeks…seems slightly like a waste of resources but nevermind! Also making me test my blood sugar levels for a week as keep getting +3 glucose in my urine dips! 1 week left at work so does feel like it’s all very close now 😅

Rose429 · 31/01/2023 19:30

How often does your baby have hiccups?

Mine has at least one every day and the most she had was 3 times! It can’t be good to hiccup that often surely 😂

Cuppasoupmonster · 31/01/2023 19:39

Has anyone else had a trace of protein in their urine dip? My results came back today and just said ‘trace’, nobody has mentioned it but it said negative last time 🤔

NM1819 · 31/01/2023 19:40

Has anyone been for a scan at 32ish weeks and been given an estimated current weight of baby? I had one today and they estimate her to weigh 4lb15oz already. If its correct (I know they rarely are) and I go to term I'm guessing she could be quite big?
