Haven't noticed any correlation @Blocklynn altjouhhh my running is definitely mostly walking these days. I do get a tightening across my bump now and again but don’t think it’s brought on by exertion.

Choc2022 · 01/02/2023 09:28

@allthingssparkly excited for you. Hope everything goes smoothly.

I rate you guys who are still running. Impressed with the dedication :)

GreenIsle · 01/02/2023 09:42

@allthingssparkly that's how my first two labours started, felt like mild period cramps that started early hours of the morning. As the hours passed they moved closer together and got stronger. Keep an eye for any bleeding or loss of mucous plug also. I would ring triage if it persists and becomes stronger and closer together.

allthingssparkly · 01/02/2023 07:38

Morning ladies,

I need your advice, particularly from those of you that have previously laboured naturally/earlier than term.

I've been woken up since 5.30am with cramping on and off, breathing through it, finding I get relief rocking on all fours. I've managed to have a shower, however the cramps keep coming and going. I've only just downloaded a contraction timer app on my phone - never used one previously as I was induced with both my children after 40 weeks.

I'm only 35w2d, but things feel different this morning. My bump feels so solid 😬 if you went into labour pre term or laboured naturally, what signs and symptoms did you have?

That sounds quite similar to my natural labours. Definitely worth timing the cramps to see how regular they are. Though my midwife said with thirds (I’m also 35 + 2 with no 3) that type of thing can happen stop and start for a bit (over days/weeks) before actual labour kicks in

Cats23 · 01/02/2023 10:39

Hope you are ok@allthingssparkly .
My 2nd started with waters going (8pm) promptly followed by cramps to contractions, I was 38 weeks and DS arrived 10hrs later.
The last 2 were induced on 40weeks , #3 they broke my waters and he was born in an hr - no contractions till waters broke.
#4 'Tea bag' induction, cramps started, they wouldnt break waters despite me asking...., broke them 9 hrs later and DD was born in an hr BUT I had contractions for 10 hrs.

I'd call midwife in your position.

Cats23 · 01/02/2023 10:42

I feel different today, My fingers are swollen and I feel massive, think bump has dropped. Im only 33 weeks and I have convinced myself I will have another prem ( No reason to suggest this as it was only #1 born so prem , tge other 3 were ft!)
Missed my 32 week appt so hoping to have a follow up this week

AGirlsNameIsAryaStark · 01/02/2023 10:45

@Cats23 i've had swelling in my fingers the last few days too, had to take my wedding ring off last night with a load of oil so won't be getting it back on until baby's here!

allthingssparkly · 01/02/2023 11:33

Thank you ladies, been frantically making sure mine and baby's hospital bags are completely packed in the event of anything happening earlier than anticipated!

The cramps seem to have subsided, however when they do come its in waves but not consistent. I'm just going to take it easy and see how things go x

Dreamingof3 · 01/02/2023 12:05

Frightening/exciting that things could start happening soon!

Someone I know has just delivered their baby at 23 weeks 🥺 and another is 33 weeks and looks like baby will be arriving very soon... definitely made me think I need to get my bags packed!

Dreamingof3 · 01/02/2023 12:06

Also working on my blanket!

NM1819 · 01/02/2023 12:30

@Blocklynn the past week every time I walk our dogs/play tag with DS etc the lower part of my bump gets extremely tight. I assumed the movement was causing braxton hicks (that's what my mum reckons anyway 😂).
Thanks to everyone re weight estimations, I've only had to go for the scans due to midwife measuring bump and the curve on the charts not being 'quite perfect'. She actually measured me to be at 31 weeks, but I'm 32+6 whereas for my 28 week appt I was measured almost 2 weeks ahead, hence the scans.

TeddyBeans · 01/02/2023 12:32

Chunky madam's been packing it on in the last two weeks! Estimated 6lbs 7oz now. She might actually weigh more than DS at this rate!

I lied (it said 6lbs 7oz on the scanning screen!) She's down as 6lbs 6oz on the report

@Dreamingof3 thats lovely 🥰

@NM1819 ah maybe that’s it, I did wonder if it was braxton hicks.

@TeddyBeans glad the scan went well!

Cats23 · 01/02/2023 14:06

I need to finish my bags too!!
Im having a day of reduced movement today again...., it makes you feel so worried, this will be the 3rd x now

havanamama · 01/02/2023 14:16

I have a high risk pregnancy, so had a final 36 week scan booked.

I needed an emergency scan which was 1w+3 days before the booked 36 week scan, so the 36 week needed to be rescheduled.

The midwife that did the emergency scan has now pushed the 36 week scan back to 38+5 days!!

I could already have the baby then!

havanamama · 01/02/2023 14:17

Got advised to raise this with my own midwife when I see her in a few days, which I will do, as that's just seems so far into full term !

TeddyBeans · 01/02/2023 14:19

@havanamama my last scan is booked for 4 days before my due date, I doubt I'll see it 🤣

Babynum2 · 01/02/2023 14:30

I get a tight bump is i stand for to long or go on a long walk. I remember it last time with my sons pregnancy also. I keep getting these very strange feelings in my stomach like when you go over a bump or dip in a roller coaster it's very strange!

Perexi · 01/02/2023 15:14

My first in person consultant appointment was meant to be around 37 weeks.... it's been booked for 38+5 ..... seems very late! I spoke to my midwife about it as this is where they decide if still high risk.... apparently it's fine! All very strange

Loving seeing all the scans and updates from those a little bit further along! I have a growth scan on Monday - hopefully NHS will confirm that the placenta has moved from the cervix my midwife was as dubious as I was that the private scan said it had moved to the top but fingers crossed.

iratepirate · 01/02/2023 15:58

Finally managed to track down a midwife in one of the nearby hospitals so that I can actually have an appointment now that they’ve stopped our local clinic. Booked for tomorrow evening. It’s taken so much chasing, I’m glad to have it sorted!

Eastybaby19 · 01/02/2023 16:09

Been up the Whole night itching 😴 had bloods done a couple weeks ago as the itching was mild thought it was Cholastasis starting again but levels were ok & itching stopped but Jesus last night hands and feet all night long my hands are red and still feel weird today 🤦‍♀️ 35+4 today I think this was around the time it started last time had bloods done this morning so will have results tomorrow or Friday 🙌

I've also had incredible thirst has anyone else had this? Like I mean I need something fizzy that I can guzzle and that is not normally like me I just can't stop downing drinks so strange. Mentioned it to midwives this morning they've done bloods for this aswell I think it's for blood sugar? I have no risk of GD so who knows 🫣

TeddyBeans · 01/02/2023 16:26

@iratepirate good to hear, sorry it's taken so much running around on your part 😫 but at least it's sorted now!

@Eastybaby19 hopefully your tests all come back clear and the itching and thirst are just coincidence 🤞

Ladies, what are you using for packing yours and baby's bits in for hospital?

I don't know about anyone else, but all my stuff just about fits in a cabin size suitcase 😬 without breaking a zip I darent add anything else!

& I have a back pack full to the brim with baby's things!

TeddyBeans · 01/02/2023 17:12

@allthingssparkly 2 backpacks and a changing bag for little lady's bits. I've only got snacks and little bits left to pack and have plenty of space left.

How are you doing? Still crampy or has it eased off now?
