Hey @Cuppasoupmonster I've been doing some of the exercises from the spinning babies website, now whether they're helping or not time will tell 🙈

Hope your daughter gets better soon 🤞 x

beatingheartbaby · 30/01/2023 10:56

Ok I know this post is ridiculous haha but mil keeps buying us loads of nappies and I know we will need them but we haven't even bought any of our own yet and it's really annoying me 😂😂 but the thing is I know for a fact if it was my own mum buying us them I'd be like awww that's so nice hahahah. Terrible.

TeddyBeans · 30/01/2023 11:01

allthingssparkly · 30/01/2023 10:08

Oh no @iratepirate sorry to hear your suffering with PGP, I have been lucky in my pregnancies to not suffer with that but I've heard how uncomfortable and painful it can be! Hope it eases for you 🤞

Hey @TeddyBeans glad all is well 😊 the midwife said there would be no option of a natural breech birth because baby is footling breech, if his positioning was frank breech then I would be able to be considered for a natural breech delivery. So it's either a c-section or I get lucky and he flips back head down so I can hopefully go in to spontaneous labour with minimal intervention 🤞

What a cheeky baby! Did he go breech recently or was he always? Have they suggested ECV to you? Sorry for 20 Q's, just curious 😅

OP posts:
ChristmasJumpers · 30/01/2023 11:23

@beatingheartbaby we haven't bought any nappies yet either but have nearly 300!! Both DM and MIL have been busy buying so we have a range of pampers, Aldi, Lidl and Morrisons so far

allthingssparkly · 30/01/2023 11:28

Very cheeky isn't he @TeddyBeans no he hasn't always been breech because at my 28 week midwife appt he was head down, so between then and my 33 week growth scan he decided to flip 🫣

ECV was mentioned at my 33 week scan and no doubt will be mentioned again next week to see if I want to go for it, however I think my answer will be no it's 60% effective, but comes with its risks and also baby can flip back breech even if they get him head down 🙈

TeddyBeans · 30/01/2023 11:29

@beatingheartbaby @ChristmasJumpers it's crazy the stuff you get given 🤣 it comes from a good place but it doesn't make it any less annoying. 300 nappies is a lot!

Ladies, how many pairs of jamas/comfy clothing are you taking to hospital? 😊😊

havanamama · 30/01/2023 11:34

allthingssparkly · 30/01/2023 11:30

Ladies, how many pairs of jamas/comfy clothing are you taking to hospital? 😊😊

One long and one short for postpartum stay
And one short sleeve nightie for the actual delivery

I find maternity wards to be absolutely boiling! Always heating on to the max which I hate

havanamama · 30/01/2023 11:35

In terms of actual clothing I'm bringing 2 outfits

allthingssparkly · 30/01/2023 11:35

Thanks @havanamama 😊 ugh yes, I can't stand hot and stuffy hospitals! I'll be making sure I have a hand held fan and cooling mist in my hospital bag 😆

Cuppasoupmonster · 30/01/2023 11:53

allthingssparkly · 30/01/2023 11:30

Ladies, how many pairs of jamas/comfy clothing are you taking to hospital? 😊😊

I’ve got a backpack for labour and a separate weekend bag for the stay after. I’ve got a nightie for giving birth in and pyjamas to change into afterwards in the backpack, then a pair of pyjamas, a big zip up hoodie, a couple of vest tops and a pair of leggings in the weekend bag. Really hoping it won’t be much longer than a few days 🤞🏻

I’m leaving one more bag at home just in case for whatever reason we haven’t been discharged after a few days, it’s just got some clean pants and another set of pyjamas in. I don’t trust DH to ‘pick up anything I need’, last time he brought a work dress 🙄

ChristmasJumpers · 30/01/2023 11:55

I've packed a black nighty for delivery and a fan to keep cool! I'm not sure what to pack for my stay afterwards and to come home in

Cuppasoupmonster · 30/01/2023 11:59

I would pack one set of pyjamas and a leggings/t shirt/sweatshirt outfit to come home in - remember big pants as well!

Franklin321 · 30/01/2023 11:59

@AGirlsNameIsAryaStark I had really bad carpal tunnel pain with previous pregnancy, wearing a splint at night made a massive difference!

Dreamingof3 · 30/01/2023 12:00

Hope everyone has had a good weekend! We went away for a wedding and it's completely done me in 😂

7 weeks maximum until we meet our little one! I don't feel ready at all..but also feel over pregnancy haha.

We bought a few nappies but won't get more as my parents have said they will supply them for the first 6 months! So we just have to let them know if we need to go up a size!

allthingssparkly · 30/01/2023 12:06

George at Asda have got 10% off nightwear and underwear online, incase anyone needs anything!

Have to re-purchase big back comfy knickers for post birth because the ones I got from Primark last week are too small, whoops! 🤣

allthingssparkly · 30/01/2023 12:18

These are also supposed to be a game changer for post birth too, super stretchy, high wasted and comfortable. So I've ordered a pack to try! Has anyone tried them? X

Cuppasoupmonster · 30/01/2023 12:27

Oooh 👀 I’ve just added to my Asda shop!

Cuppasoupmonster · 30/01/2023 12:39

What are you taking in terms of baby wipes/cotton wool? Wondering whether to skip the cotton wool and go straight to wipes this time

allthingssparkly · 30/01/2023 12:41

I'm taking both a pack of pampers coco harmonie plastic free wipes and johnsons baby cotton wool pads @Cuppasoupmonster 😊 x

havanamama · 30/01/2023 12:47

Cuppasoupmonster · 30/01/2023 12:39

I'm taking 1 pack of Water Wipes and 1 pack of cotton rounds.

The cotton balls just look like a total mess to me.

Perexi · 30/01/2023 12:48

I'm just taking water wipes - cotton wool sets my teeth on edge so I cant use it.

iratepirate · 30/01/2023 12:50

Cotton wool was such a pain last time, I’ll probably just take water wipes for the hospital.
We tend to use reusable wipes at home but that’s an extra headache in hospital so will take wipes instead, same with nappies. We’ll move to reusable when we get home.

havanamama · 30/01/2023 13:54

Is anyone taking dummies to the hospital?

I keep hearing more and more people say that their baby didn't take dummies or only for a short period of time 4+ months old whilst teething etc

iratepirate · 30/01/2023 14:02

I don’t really know anything about dummies; we’ve never used them.
