For baby blankets so far I've got a soft 'fluffy' but not too thick one from Primark (It's white with grey clouds), a reversible star chenille from George @ Asda, a cute animal one my mum bought from Next & a work colleague made a cute sleeping bag type thing. I've suggested cellular blankets to people who have asked what we need as I realised we don't have any of those yet!

I will see if I can find pics of the ones from shops but were all bought some months ago! I figured a few "warmer" ones for cold weather plus some more airy ones would be a good amount!

We got gifted two cable knit fleecy blankets from M&S , which are so soft and cosy.

So much to catch up on!

Lovely scan pictures too, not long now till we get to meet baby's 🥰

Super stressful day, been for growth scan at 32 weeks and baby has dropped to below the 3rd centile, weekly scans now with a view to get to 37 weeks for planned section of growth stabilises, steroid injections planned!

Had previous placental abruption at 36+ 4 so feel like I'm living in a knife edge.

So lovely to have a group of mamas to chat things through with xx

Glad they are looking after you and lot's of monitoring!

Thirdtimesacharm3 · 27/01/2023 21:00

Hi everyone! Lots of scans today.. @Amy1303 hope you get a plan in place. I had the opposite problem - baby boy is measuring on the 97 percentile and is apparently currently 6lbs 9oz (I’m 34+4) been asked to come back at 38 weeks for another scan. Had been feeling reasonably relaxed as my first two boys were on the bigger side… but never this big. Worried they are going to want to induce and scupper my homebirth plans!

Perexi · 27/01/2023 21:02

Our changing table/chest of drawers arrived today which is a good reminder that this is actually happening if the constant kicking and wriggling wasn't enough of a reminder 😂😂

Room4onemore · 27/01/2023 21:46

I was in hospital yesterday due to a small bleed and reduced movements, baby had a party in there while I was on the monitor, her heart rate went up to over 185 and my pulse was over 150 so I had to be on there for an hour and half, I was so uncomfortable lol. Had lunch there and 2 jugs of water and my pulse came down. My next scan was 21/02 but as I’ve had 2 episodes of reduced movements it’s been bought forward to Tuesday to be reviewed by my consultant.

Cats23 · 27/01/2023 21:56

Glad all scans seemed to be well for all, Hope tjose that have felt unwell feel much better soon.

@allthingssparkly , I bought a pink soft knitted blanket in primark and a friend of mine knits and I've just bought this from her- I love it!
I found with my last children, we were bought so many blankets too, I still have DD's little fleece one from 5yrs ago as its still used, so thats a back up too

@Thirdtimesacharm3 I had growth scans with my son and he was estimated 6lbs 11oz at 34 weeks - was born 38 weeks weighing 8lbs 3oz! So probably would have been a pretty large baby if I’d gone to term 😅 I was induced but for other factors alongside his size so I don’t think it’ll be an automatic induction for ‘just’ a large baby! Hopefully you get your home birth 🤞

Room4onemore · 27/01/2023 22:16

@Cats23 we had a puppy last week, willow as well lol, a 13 week cocker spaniel who is truly loopy

Perexi · 27/01/2023 22:29

Oh that puppy! What a cutie!

Rainbowbaby23 · 27/01/2023 22:46

For those that are drinking raspberry leaf tea, how many cups are you drinking a day? Is there such a thing as too much because I quite like the taste🙈😂

Cats23 · 27/01/2023 22:57

Thanks guys- Def a bit nuts! My cats will hate us!
@Room4onemore ahh cute, We considered a cocker and Airdale! We like bigger dogs!

Cuppasoupmonster · 27/01/2023 23:13

Oh my what a gorgeous pup! Sounds like you’re used to a busy household I’m sure she will fit in just fine! We’re just DH, DD, me, our 1 year old cockerpoo and soon to be DS 😊 and I thought that would be busy! I’m one of 5 (at one point mum had 5 under 8 😬) and a dog, no idea how she did it!

Love the knitted blanket - nothing cuter than a baby in bright knitwear! 🥰

@Rainbowbaby23 i haven’t started yet as only 30 weeks. I’ve bought the Final Push tea from Holland and Barrett - it says not to drink before 32 weeks, but given I’m being induced at 37 I’ll start drinking it this week I think to give it time to work. I’ll have 1 cup a day and see how I go! I’ll also up the dates from 3 a day to 6 when I get to 32 weeks. Even if it makes a small difference it will be worth it, I really want an easier second stage this time!

Rainbowbaby23 · 27/01/2023 23:17

Oh interesting! Im 33 weeks now and some days ill have maybe 3 cups a day but it doesn’t seem to be doing any harm

How were your last 2 labours and how big were they? My baby’s abdomen is measuring over the 95th, although the rest of his measurements are average or just below average so overall his weight is on the 70th. From what I’ve read shoulder dystocia is mainly a concern if the head and abdomen are wildly different sizes, eg the head comes out easily but the body is much bigger and therefore gets stuck. Whereas if they are just big all over it’s less of an issue as the bigger head has already lead the way 😬 if that makes sense.

Thanks for replying Cuppa! First two were 8lb 9 and 8lb 5. (Though DS2 head was pretty big - 35.5cm when born) both labours spontaneous/birth pool/no intervention/small grazes that didn’t need stitching. Barely got to hospital with no 2 hence why thinking about home birth! I have read that the stomach (which is my highest measurement too can get more squished than head so fine fit it to be a bit bigger! Am sure we will both be fine! 🤞

AK93 · 28/01/2023 05:27

Aww that puppy has cheered me up!

I've had a bit too much of a stressful week and to top it off I just didn't feel right getting to sleep last night. Woke up the same and my temp which is rarely even 37 let alone above is 38 :( so I'm ill with something!
Looks like I'll be doing a covid test later and not sure if I'll be allowed the infusion I had finally sorted out for Monday after so much hassle chasing the appt I could cry....for the 50th time!!!

Hope anyone else feeling poorly is better soon and interesting to see all the weight estimations from scans! Got to wait longer for mine!

Blocklynn · 28/01/2023 06:48

Crazy puppy people!!
I have two dogs already and had a working golden retriever booked to bring home last December but cancelled.
