How many weeks were you? Feel like all the birth stories I see online are c-sections and inductions. Curious what it's like for people who just go into labour at home one day (obv hoping this happens to me at some point before 40 weeks!)

39 + 6 with first, born on due date. 39 + 5 with second, born 39 + 6. Very punctual my 2!

I really shouldn't have engaged with this thread!! 😭😭

I went 41+3 with my first and those last few days/weeks were torture (though the birth itself was very straightforward). Now expecting baby number 2 and was desperately hoping that as my fanny now resembles a windsock, that it would surely fall out sooner?!? Apparently according to you fabulous bunch of women, second labours don't come earlier. How did I not know this 😱😱😱

39+6 and baby born on due date

4thonthe4th · 21/01/2023 08:14

I’ve never gone into labour as I’ve had csections but my sister has gone into labour spontaneously between 37-38 weeks with all of hers.

HeyBwoss · 21/01/2023 08:15

40+12. Went in to labour the day I was supposed to be induced

SunSandAndLotsOfGin · 21/01/2023 08:16

On due date.

gogohmm · 21/01/2023 08:16

On my due date !

ohfook · 21/01/2023 08:20

Declined sweeps for both as felt it wasn't close. 2 quick labours both born within 45 mins of being at hospital

Theduchy · 21/01/2023 08:21

40 + 4 both times

40+6
40+9

Waters broke both times, followed by contractions and quite quick labours.

Dippyeggz · 21/01/2023 08:26

41 and 40

TokyoSushi · 21/01/2023 08:26

39+5 although it was a long and fairly hideous 48 hours until he was born!

YouSoundLovely · 21/01/2023 08:30

37 + 5 with my first (birth at 38 + 0), 40 + 8 with my second (birth a few hours later). No. 3 showed no sign of budging at 40 + 10 and I went for induction (and had a very precipitous labour, though that may not have been the induction). .

Angelicapickles1 · 21/01/2023 08:31

40 + 2. Was v surprised as no signs the day before at all

GruzViews · 21/01/2023 08:31

39 + 2, both times.

YouSoundLovely · 21/01/2023 08:32

(My waters never broke on their own. They were artificially ruptured in the first two when I was fully dilated and my third was born in her waters)

Nejnej2 · 21/01/2023 08:34

Early hours of 40+2 started with irregular contractions, established labour by around 6/7am, baby born just before half 6 in the evening :)

Aesopstable · 21/01/2023 08:37

40+12 (I declined the induction booked for that day)
40+7
40+7 (but on time by my calculations)

40+5

101dalmatians · 21/01/2023 08:38

40 and 40

First baby I had gone to hospital for a routine appointment and they found I was already 3cm dilated. Admitted and things ramped up from there. Did need a forceps delivery in the end, but no section or induction . Second was a homebirth with waters breaking an hour before baby appeared!

DelurkingAJ · 21/01/2023 08:40

42 (due to be induced that afternoon, arrived 24 hours later)
41 (arrived 5 hours later)

My waters never went and were broken when I was fully dilated with both.
