Well this is scary! You’d think after 2 children already I’d know the signs! But nope! Only just found out in preg and going from last time me and hubby done the deed I’d be 30 weeks! Got to get onto midwife’s tomorrow morning and get a scan booked asap! Somehow find a way of telling the hubby and other kids and the rest of the family! I didn’t plan any more kids but obviously this 1 had other ideas! Oh and I was on the 12 week depo jab!

Congratulations 💐

Could be worse - I had a colleague who found out she was pregnant when she went into Labour

Age 44. No children. Plus size. PCOS with very irregular cycle - thought she might be menopausal.

Congratulations OP! My friend’s daughter found out 3 weeks before she gave birth and she’s got 2 already. She thought she had a hernia! Scary and exciting!

My friend adopted a baby after 12 years of trying, failed IVF, and both she and her husband having fertility problems. She hadn't had a period for 2 years. She found out she was pregnant when her friend said "If I didn't know better I'd say you were pregnant", so she took a test. Her baby was born 4 weeks later when her first was 9 months old.

WrendaleCountryDogs · 18/01/2023 08:58

Congratulations!

I have known of 3 women this happened to.

First didn't know until she gave birth on the toilet...at around 28 weeks... to twins!! Imagine the shock of not only suddenly giving birth but then a second baby coming out. Very premature but absolutely fine. Mum had MS (sadly she has died) and put all symptoms down to that.

Second went to hospital for a scan for something (can't remember what) and discovered 29 week baby. Sadly mum never wanted kids and baby was placed for adoption.

Third did a test, assumed she was early on, had her "12 week" scan and found a 34 week baby. She gave birth the following week

Some really bitchy replies on here, I thought this was the pregnancy board not AIBU.

So excited for you OP, we are one and done but if I found out I was 30 weeks pregnant I’d be soooo excited! Hope everything goes well, keep us posted!!

Jaybird43 · 18/01/2023 09:00

Please, please keep us updated OP! Wishing you a very healthy rest of pregnancy!

ParmaViolett · 18/01/2023 09:00

My Mum didn’t realise she was pregnant until she was 22 weeks, even though she was very slim, she didn’t really have a noticeable bump either.
Congratulations!

Jaybird43 · 18/01/2023 09:01

Oh and my MiL told me about her friend whose daughter is a midwife and she was pregnant with TWINS and doesn’t realise until she was nearly 27 weeks gone! It does happen!

OhCrumbsWhereNow · 18/01/2023 09:06

Congratulations!

Very close family member found out at 7.5 months. The GP said max 10-12 weeks but booked her for a scan to check - he was as shocked as she was. Her dad was an obstetrician and she has 4 siblings, had seen her parents every weekend and nobody had noticed a thing.

Before that, none of us had quite believed people could get to late stage pregnancy without knowing - I was mainly jealous having had HG and done nothing but puke from week 6-35!

Felix01 · 18/01/2023 09:16

So jealous I felt huge even at 30 weeks the awful sickness and nausea to begin with. Good luck for your scan.

Felix01 · 18/01/2023 09:17

I back to back the pill so no periods , I will be doing periodic pregnancy tests now 🤣🤣 this has scared me.

RosieLemonadeAndSugar · 18/01/2023 09:18

Ahhh Congratulations OP! Must have been one hell of a shock! Hope everything is ok at your midwife appointment.

LightHousePanda · 18/01/2023 09:21

Congratulations! It's crazy how this happens but like others say you could have had a bigger shock if you'd gone into labour not knowing.

Newmum110 · 18/01/2023 09:21

Massive congrats OP, of course a big shock but I'm sure it will be a wonderful addition to your lovely family x

"last time me and hubby done the deed"🙄

Whatafliberty · 18/01/2023 05:58

Am I the only person to wonder why you have not had sex for 30 weeks?

eh? It’s not that unusual to go months without sex. Some relationships don’t rely on sex to keep them together.

Dove88 · 18/01/2023 09:36

Congratulations OP! You sound like a lovely lady with a great family, I hope everything works out great for you all

Pearsandclocks · 18/01/2023 09:37

I back to back the pill so no periods , I will be doing periodic pregnancy tests now 🤣🤣 this has scared me.

I was about 15/16 weeks when I found out with my last baby. As I was still exclusively breast feeding my middle child and my periods hadn’t returned I didn't realise I was pregnant. Can’t remember why I even did a test as it was years ago but shock doesn’t cover how I felt 😂. Definitely worth checking from time to time !

HaggisBurger · 18/01/2023 09:39

I can feel blimmin implantation & am not great at being pg - so quite envious of you doing 30 weeks unaware. Each of my 3 felt about 90 weeks long.

You sound lovely & accepting. Doubtless your DH will be fine once he’s got over the shock.

Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy 😄

"last time me and hubby done the deed"🙄

Maybe expressly state what you’re rolling your eyes at here.

OP has the right to express her story using the phrases etc that suit her. Jeez.
