Well this is scary! You’d think after 2 children already I’d know the signs! But nope! Only just found out in preg and going from last time me and hubby done the deed I’d be 30 weeks! Got to get onto midwife’s tomorrow morning and get a scan booked asap! Somehow find a way of telling the hubby and other kids and the rest of the family! I didn’t plan any more kids but obviously this 1 had other ideas! Oh and I was on the 12 week depo jab!

OP, I feel someone has to say this, but I will probably get both barrels for telling the truth and branded a ‘hater’. Sobeit. I think health is the most important thing we have and sometimes a chance remark can lead to an essential diagnosis.

It is very unlikely that you would have no suspicion of pregnancy until 30 weeks, especially having been pregnant before.

There are other conditions which might cause a positive test, and cause the symptoms you are experiencing, especially the bloating, and I suggest gently that you should see a doctor to either confirm your pregnancy or rule out other conditions. I would do this as soon as possible. I hope that your happiness is confirmed!

She's just discovered she's 30w pregnant, of course she's going to see a doctor! Lol

Congratulations op :)

Congratulations on your incredible surprise! I hope your husband and children are thrilled. Good luck with everything and happy shopping! 😊

I can easily believe as this happened to one of my closest friends.

As far as stomach size, I never showed at all until 6 months, and even then not much at all until the final month off my own pregnancy when I had a huge growth spurt. DD was born healthy and a normal weight.

PyongyangKipperbang · 18/01/2023 03:27

I was 6 months (ish) when I realised I was PG when I had my first, I was 17 so perhaps more understandable.

That said, I wasnt so blase about it. When I found out I was pg with my fifth, unplanned and at about 5 weeks, I was gobsmacked and not "Oh ok, it will be fine".

I wonder if there is more to this than meets the eye.

PyongyangKipperbang · 18/01/2023 03:31

I assume you dont drink?

Guavafish1 · 18/01/2023 03:38

Congratulations

Why would you assume this? Either you think that the OP is pissed out of her mind to have not noticed she is pregnant, or you are trying to induce anxiety/concern over what is amazing and exciting news. I want to say ‘how unkind’, but actually, I think your comment is vile.

One of our old skiing friends skied every day on holiday and wore her size 10 clothes and ski suits and unknown to us she had been diagnosed with IBS and she had suffered with an upset stomach and when they landed back in the U.K. she got bad stomach pains and was taken to hospital in Labour! It was an absolute shock and he had to rush out and buy everything!

Baby was healthy and normal weight and size. During the pregnancy her stomach had been as flat as an ironing board!

Congratulations op!

I read it as the woman was 24 at the time not now.

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 18/01/2023 04:04

I didn't know about DD2 until 13 or 14 weeks and I was so happy to have missed the first trimester! Got to go straight into the fun part of pregnancy (for me) - more energy, less sickness etc. 30 weeks is quite something! Congrats OP.

ShirleyPhallus · 18/01/2023 04:05

Congrats

alotoftutus · 18/01/2023 04:09

Wow, I'm 31 weeks have had 27 weeks of sickness so you are living my dream lol. If your scan confirms you are having a March baby come and join our thread - we are a friendly bunch with two babies already born!!!

Congratulations. It must be a lot to get your head round. A friend of mine didn't find out she was pregnant with her third until she was in Labour lol.

hubby works nights so don’t wanna tell him while he’s at work and then be like oh going sleep now night lol so I’ll tell him when he’s home, what I thought was phantom kicks and bloating turned into a solid stomach, and massive moving full on stomach waving moves made me think what if? So took a test this afternoon, wasn’t even 1 min and the test come back positive straight away!

I'd wait til he got home too!

With the phantom kicks, did you just write that off as "bit of upset tummy" and then think "ah well gaining a bit of weight at the front" and stuff like that? And the solid stomach that started doing full on waving moves (I remember that one!)

Amazing how our brains can distract us from things.

My SIL found out at 32 weeks and she worked in a GP clinic at the time!

Best of luck, I'd be on the floor in shock but you sound pretty upbeat which is great X

Zanatdy · 18/01/2023 05:15

Oh wow congratulations! That would be great only having 10wks to wait until baby was born not 40!

Congratulations OP! I was 24 weeks when I found out I was pregnant. I had had light spotting at my usual period times and was very fit at the time so didn’t notice any change in body shape. I peed on a stick as the spotting was getting irregular and got a positive! Makes for a quick pregnancy!

Vicki3007 · 18/01/2023 05:49

its hard to have sex all the time when I have a nearly 2 year old who won’t sleep in his own bed, hubby works nights 4 nights a week so it’s not like we don’t want to, but the toddler is the biggest cock blocker going! After 14 year together it isn’t just about sex in our relationship

Did you not have any symptoms at all op? Was that the same for your other two pregnancies? Shocked for you but a big congrats

Never had morning sickness with any of them. Only real thing I can think of to say was a sign is the tiredness and mood swings but like I say I have a nearly 2 year old who is like a tornado so didn’t really think much to it!

It’s more of a case of well there’s nothing that can be done to change the outcome now so here comes baby number 3 wether we wanted it or not, it will be loved and cherished like the other 2!

Am I the only person to wonder why you have not had sex for 30 weeks?

I assume you dont drink?

Haven’t had an alcoholic drink since we moved into the new house and that was last April, I’ve never been a big drinker, we don’t drink at home coz it’s well boring and we end up falling asleep and waisting it, over Christmas hubby had a few glasses of baileys but as someone always needs to be able to drive I didn’t touch anything, don’t see the need to drink alcohol…

Seriously? Couples are all different. Not everyone follows a rigid schedule FFS especially with two little kids.

Because the toddler is never more than an arms length away from me, when we moved house he didn’t settle into his new room and my husband works nights so 4 nights a week he’s not home, the others I’m normally in bed around 10 with the toddler but due to Hubbys body clock he dont come to bed till much later. We r a solid couple after 14 years together life isn’t all about sex there’s more to a relationship x
