Well this is scary! You’d think after 2 children already I’d know the signs! But nope! Only just found out in preg and going from last time me and hubby done the deed I’d be 30 weeks! Got to get onto midwife’s tomorrow morning and get a scan booked asap! Somehow find a way of telling the hubby and other kids and the rest of the family! I didn’t plan any more kids but obviously this 1 had other ideas! Oh and I was on the 12 week depo jab!

I’m so excited for you! How cool to only have to be pg for 10 weeks 🤣
You sound great and happy and sensible. Congratulations!

Sellorkeep · 18/01/2023 07:13

Congratulations! I would love to be a fly on the wall when you tell your husband.
I also knew someone who’s wife found out about their first when she went into labour!

StormiBaby · 18/01/2023 07:15

Oooh congratulations!

Home pregnancy tests don’t normally work past 12 weeks. The hormone they use to detect the pregnancy is lower by 30 weeks.

I've just taken one at 22 weeks to check this theory because I'd never heard it, and it came back the strongest positive I've ever seen 😂

Wow, congratulations. You are taking this better than me lol
I'm on depo and now I'm googling contraception failure stats about it 😆
Looks like you are the less than 1 in 100 , so a special one and I too believe what happens for a reason is meant to be 😊
For my own peace of mind about depo can I ask how long you were taking it and did you go perfectly every 12 weeks, as I've just had to have one at 13 weeks 1 day, due to there being no nurse at my surgery Christmas week when I needed to have it.

My first jab would of been around the time we had sex so I’m thinking we didn’t give it enough time to take effect! I had extreme migraine attacks for ages after going on the jab so when spoke to gp said to not have it any more and wait till periods came back before going onto something else but I haven’t had any at all the jab stopped them completely so didn’t notice missing periods

Well you seem out together! I hope your DH takes the news really well!
congratulations.

Rachie1973 · 18/01/2023 07:34

Lol I think a 10 week wait would be cool after the initial shock

AuuYSC · 18/01/2023 07:34

I knew I was pregnant straight away but if I didn't know I probably wouldn't have known until she was born - she barely moved, never saw any outline of her, didn't have any pregnancy symptoms and my didn't really have a bump ( I am fat so that probably helped hide it) so I can totally believe this.

Congratulations OP, what a shock that you'll have a baby here in the next 10 weeks!

If you genuinely don't think this happens you're daft as a brush. It does.

And If you have nay concerns about the thread report it, no need for rude comments.

gubrbi · 18/01/2023 07:43

Thats amazing! Hope It goes well with telling your DH! Congratulations

PanicAtTheBigTesco · 18/01/2023 07:44

This is almost identical to my SIL. Found out in December she was 26 weeks with DC3, she's due in a few weeks! A combination of having a 16 month old, being plus size plus still carrying the baby weight from DC2 and never really have any symptoms with any of her pregnancies meant she had no idea. She took a test purely because she realised she hadn't had a period for a while and assumed she was about 12 weeks, luckily the midwife suggested she had an urgent scan.

Congratulations and good luck!

Lovemydoggiesomuch · 18/01/2023 07:48

I worked with someone last year until 8pm and then night she gave birth to a 36 week baby. She absolutely had no inkling she was pregnant…huge shock and it was her second baby.
Also my daughter didn’t have an obvious bump even at 38 weeks and felt minimal movement and was being monitored regularly.
So I can see first hand how this can happen! Congratulations.💐

Doris86 · 18/01/2023 07:51

Blimey, my baby was already born at 29 weeks!

WhenIAmOldIShallWearPurple · 18/01/2023 07:51

I'm glad you're taking it well. I have two and I would be devastated 😂

Congratulations!

Lucylock · 18/01/2023 07:53

Congratulations OP

StarsSand · 18/01/2023 06:17

I genuinely don't understand how this can happen.

Aren't you showing? Couldn't you feel him/her moving?

By 30 weeks I could see the outline of a foot pressing up on my stomach. I could feel when he had hiccups.

What did you think all that was?

I knew I was pregnant early on from a test but never had any of those things. Even full term I had a tiny bump and with a big coat on didn’t even look pregnant. I didn’t feel much movements at all as the placenta was at the front, certainly saw no outlines or felt any feet, just abit of light fluttering which could easily have been put down to stomach grumbles or wind if i hadn’t known I was pregnant

DoYou · 18/01/2023 07:59

Just wanted to wish you the best of luck. What a surprise for you.

Blessedbethefknfruit · 18/01/2023 08:00

Congratulations OP.
My mum found out she was pregnant with me around the same time. She'd already had 2 kids and told due to a condition she couldn't have any more, so wasn't careful.
She ended up in hospital after a health scare which is when she found out she was pregnant.

I so wish I'd found out late.
I took at test at the weeks pregnant (we were tct) and had the worst and most drawn out pregnancy ever.

Emmamoo89 · 18/01/2023 08:01

Aww congratulations 😊 x

AppleCrumbleIceCreamDream · 18/01/2023 08:05

I love your positivity despite the shock you must be feeling.
Congratulations, how exciting. Happy shopping

DobbyTheHouseElk · 18/01/2023 08:06

It does sound unbelievable. But I knew someone who gave birth on the toilet and didn’t know they were pregnant. I can confirm a week before they did not have any bump. It was a real shock.

Vicki3007 · 18/01/2023 08:06

Thank u all, I didn’t see the rude comment as been talking with hubby, he’s in shock, a bit concerned about how we will manage ect i fee bad for telling him after he’s just done a 12 hour shift at work but I couldn’t go the day without telling him! Not going to tell daughter just yet till I’ve got more info from
midwife x

Congratulations! I must say I’ve never seen a “late reveal” handled with such delight/acceptance. But mostly I’m deeply envious that you find pregnancy so easy you didn’t notice. 😂

Perhaps a blessing - no time to worry.
