Due September 2023 after miscarriage 🌈

Hello ladies
I'm 44 and had 4 previous miscarriages..... Found out last wk I'm pregnant and incredibly anxious after so many losses and my age. Lack of symptoms aren't helping besides the stretching twinges.

Is anyone joining me in this journey?

I’m stuck in limbo at the minute, top test is 3 days ago 2MU, bottom test is today, 15 min hold and bloody wee.

Ive been bleeding heavily with clots for 2 days now and convinced myself this was a CP, I should be 5+2 now, and after all that bleeding why is the line stronger today.
have spoke to epu and they won’t see me yet unless I develop shoulder pain.
Ive pretty much been told to assume it’s an early miscarriage and to test again in a week, and not to go by strength of tests lines as hormones linger after a mc and time of day etc, I know all this, but surely today’s tests should be fainter

@Mannymoomin I agree with you. It should have been lighter, not darker. So I don't think you're miscarrying. Have you had any scans at all? It's really bad that EPU wouldn't scan you. That's what they're there for. Is it because it's too early to see anything on a scan I wonder? They should at least as a minimum run 48 hour bloods to see what's going on.

@Tinkerbell098 ive not had any scans no, private won’t scan me either before 6 weeks as they said it’ll just be inconclusive.
Not even been offered bloods so This week will be horrendous 😞

@Mannymoomin aww hope the next few days fly by for you. Please take care of yourself. Can you ask GP to run bloods? Will be thinking of you and keeping everything crossed for you X

Wednesday cannot come soon enough for me. I'm bracing for the worst but there's definitely a little hope there. Will they be able to see anything at 5+3?

@Passenger87 I can’t get in at the gp for 2 weeks for bloods which is pointless really, I asked epu but they basically said they won’t do anything unless and until I get to 6 weeks and still testing positive

@Mannymoomin that's so tough. I'm sorry you are being put through that. PAL is tough enough x

@Mannymoomin that’s so odd, sorry you are going through that and that EPU aren’t being very helpful. I hope you are one of these women that have a bleed but go on to have a normal pregnancy 🤞🏼

Thank you @Passenger87 and @Houseelf90 Im really clinging onto a tiny bit of hope that it’s a hemotoma causing the bleeding.
Ive been googling frantically like a mad woman and seen so many women think they’re having a mc and it’s turned out to be a hematoma, so I’m praying that’s what it is. If my tests stay dark I still have a tiny bit of hope

@Mannymoomin I can imagine the googling! My first CP was at around 5.5 weeks and the day I started bleeding I tested and they were negative straight away. It seems really odd your test has got so much darker if you’re miscarrying.

@Mannymoomin I am 7weeks now and been bleeding for the last week and 1/2. I have had a scan and all is fine I just have a cervical ectropion so will continue to bleed throughout, so fingers crossed it's similar for you when I had my miscarriage at your stage my tests faded very quickly after bleeding xx

I am so sorry that you have not gotten the support that that you deserve. @Mannymoomin Being stuck in limbo is so horrible. I really hope that things work out for you. Those tests certainly don’t look like a cp to me. That progression is very clear. I really hope your lines stay strong in the upcoming days and maybe epu will take you more seriously once six weeks rolls around. I’d certainly keep pushing them especially after 6 weeks if the bleeding is still carrying on. I’m so sorry for the stress you are going through. We are all just taking it one day at a time. But some days are so so hard. Hang in there. 💗

I’m doing okay today thanks for asking @Passenger87 Still some back pain and cramping today but that’s it really. It’s making me a bit nervous that I feel like everything is out of my hands and I won’t know if this little seedling is growing or not for another couple of weeks. But the only way I’m coping is by trying to distract myself and stay busy. How are you doing? I really hope you have a great scan. I’ve never had one that early so I don’t know what to expect. But hopefully it’s the start of many good things 🌈 I’ll be thinking of you on Wednesday.

I had some mild cramping last night for about an hour that then went, also on cyclogest pessaries so hoping it was just a bit of stretching and nothing to worry about 🤞🏼 so hard not to worry with every twinge 😔

@Vwswimmer1 Cramping is definitely normal but it's so difficult not to over analyse after a loss isn't it 😔 I hope you are feeling better today x

I don't know why I do this to myself, but I've done another FRER this morning and the test line looks too light to me. I should be around 5 weeks 4 days but the test line is not as strong as the control line. I've compared it to the test I took last week and there doesn't seem to be any progression. I've ordered more tests but can't help being worried this morning 😢

Is anyone else having really weird/vivid dreams?
This is happening every night, sometimes several in a night. Last night I was hanging out with the characters from Eastenders and the night before I took a pouch of cat food out to dinner with my friend, opened it and then decided I didn’t want to eat it after all 🤣🤣🤦‍♀️ my partner thinks I’ve well and truly lost the plot!

@CaliGirl47 I know how you feel about everything being out of your control, and just feeling helpless. I said to my partner yesterday I just want to know one way or the other and being stuck in limbo just causes so much anxiety.

@Mannymoomin I hope you get some answers soon. When I had my CPs, my tests were negative the day before I bled, and hardly visible the day before that.

@Passenger87 I think that early all they may be able to see is that the yolk and gestational sac. I hope you'll be able to see more and get some reassurances.

Nearly all my symptoms have not returned since my night of sickness on Friday. It is very disconcerting. Exhaustion and queasiness have completely gone. The only thing that remained was painful boobs and they don't hurt half as much as they did before. However I have had no bleeding or spotting at all.When I had CP, I started bleeding within 2 days of symptoms going away. So still trying to focus on that positive.
I'm very worried, but not going to get many answers until my scan on Sunday. I am speaking to the doctor tomorrow so will see what she says also.

I know what you mean it can be scary when cramping starts. @Vwswimmer1 And our brains automatically think worst case scenario. I’m trying to turn any negative thoughts into positive thoughts. Like with the cramping instead of thinking: “oh no this is it. Something is wrong” I turn it around in my brain to: “These cramps are helping my embryo embed nice and snug, and the cramping is the placenta growing strong links between myself and baby” something like that. It’s easier said than done I know. But redirection is all I’ve got at the minute. 🙏🏻

I would feel the same as you @StayWeird I’m a glutton for testing. Not sure how far along you are. But have you heard of the hook effect? Could be possible. Maybe try diluting some wee in water and try another test and see if that makes a difference?

oh my word! The vivid dreams is definitely a pregnancy hormone thing. @Houseelf90 I’ve never had such wild dreams as when I’m pregnant 😂

pregnancy after loss is such a horrible rollercoaster isn’t it?! 😔 @pinkpirlie How far along are you hun? I do hope you get some reassurance at your scan on Sunday. 🙏🏻🌈 I’ve had a previous successful pregnancy with no symptoms, and a mmc where I had ever try symptom in the book and I still had symptoms even after baby had died. So unfortunately in my experience it’s not always an accurate indicator of what’s going on. 😔 The only sure fire way of knowing what’s happening is at a scan and at least you’ve got one on the horizon. 🤞🏻 it will all be well and you’ll have an easy breezy pregnancy with minimal sickness. 🤗💗

I’ve also woken up with cramping and some light pink spotting. I’m on cyclogest which I do find irritates my skin/inside so I’m hoping it’s that. I have an awful
sinking feeling though and feel panic-y. Trying to keep calm as I know panicking won’t help. We are really hoping this is our lucky number 3 pregnancy after two losses

@CaliGirl47 I'm 5+5 today. I'm 4 days further on than my previous losses. I will be 6+3 when I have my scan (private). It can't come soon enough to quell this anxiety. I just want to know one way or the other. I know I still won't be out the woods and there will still be risk, but I hope the constant anxiety and catastrophising will end and I can be normally anxious (is that even a thing?) 😭
I love your approach to reframing your symptoms. Am going to try really hard to work on that until the scan.

@Littleheart5 sorry to hear about cramping and spotting. Hope everything works out for you. 💐 That panic-y feeling is so hard to manage.

I posted this the other day, just updating you all. Had a scan today and everything is well, I’m measuring 7+1 and FHR is 136 (looking online this worries me a little but trying not to be too concerned)
The dark brown bleeding when wiping lasted from Friday until Sunday. I have been booked in at EPU in another 2wks and I’m still on cyclogest for until then. I’m really happy with how the local EPU has treated me. (Although they didn’t explain the bleeding)

I really hope that everyone who is concerned about their pregnancy feels that they are being treated properly with the correct care. Reading a few posts im glad that we all have the support of others in this group. Having worries is not irrational when you’re growing a baby, all pregnancies are different but all should be treated with care and respect. Sending you all love 💕

We are quite close in dates then I am 5+3 today @pinkpirlie That is a milestone in itself tang you’ve made it further along in this pregnancy than you have before. That’s something to hold on to. 🌈 I’ll be thinking of you on Sunday for your scan. I do hope it gives you lots of reassurance 🤗
