Hello ladies
I'm 44 and had 4 previous miscarriages..... Found out last wk I'm pregnant and incredibly anxious after so many losses and my age. Lack of symptoms aren't helping besides the stretching twinges.

Is anyone joining me in this journey?

All the best for your scans tomorrow. 🤗 @HopefulBee @Passenger87

I have mine this morning and I’m feeling so nervous again. Although waking up and being sick first thing this morning did help to alleviate some of my nerves.😬 I’m hoping it’s a good sign that everything is still growing full steam ahead. I can’t imagine how difficult it must be to have HG and being sick multiple times a day though. Women are absolute troopers! 💪🏻Sending hugs. 💓

Passenger87 · 21/02/2023 08:58

Oh good luck @CaliGirl47, let us know how it goes xxx

HopefulBee · 21/02/2023 09:07

Good luck @CaliGirl47 ! For me nausea is always very reassuring as my first pregnancy went very well and I felt awful for the first 14 weeks. Hopefully it’s a good sign for you too! Thinking of you today!

HopefulBee · 21/02/2023 09:09

@Passenger87 Glad not to be alone with the scan anxiety tomorrow! Let’s hope for good news for both of us 🤞. I completely relate to how you’re feeling, minus the sore boobs. I had those with my first, but not this time. They do seem to be growing now though…

Passenger87 · 21/02/2023 09:22

@HopefulBee fingers crossed indeed. My DH is super nervous too.

Omg the boobs, so I usually have like oranges but now I have grapefruit and growing!

Houseelf90 · 21/02/2023 12:11

Hope everyone who has scans this week gets on well 🥰

I’ve just had my booking appointment and am very happy that my midwife seems really nice! I’ve got some past medical history with a heart condition which I’ve been left in the dark about so she’s put me on consultant led care and is going to refer me to a specialist to get some more answers about that! Now just to wait for my 12 week scan date to come through the post…..

CaliGirl47 · 21/02/2023 13:23

Wow sounds like you got a good midwife! @Houseelf90 So nice to feel well cared for and that she’s put you under the proper consultants. I had my booking appointment over the phone last week and I was reminiscing about how times have changed. When I was pregnant with DD in 2018 I remember the midwives coming to my house for the booking appointment and having a cup of tea whilst going through all the questions. So different now. They seem more short staffed perhaps.

Anyways, I had my scan this morning and all was well thankfully. 🙏🏻 It wasn’t very clear this time as it was an abdominal scan and I have a tilted womb so I was really squinting to try to see baby. But they said baby was measuring right on track and they could see the heart flickering and a bit of movement/jumping from baby so that’s good. Still waiting to hear about my 12 week dating scan. Hopefully that will come through soon. 💓

HopefulBee · 21/02/2023 13:54

@CaliGirl47 absolutely thrilled for you! So good to hear you’re measuring on time and all is well. Hope you get the dating scan date soon. I think we might be very close in dates, according to my last scan I’m 9+5 tomorrow though I’m waiting to see what the dates are looking like after tomorrows scan.

@Houseelf90 great that you had such a positive experience. Makes all the difference right?

Houseelf90 · 21/02/2023 14:01

@CaliGirl47 I feel so much more at ease and also in control now I have the relevant contacts should I think things are not right so I’m definitely more relaxed and looking forward to the next stages!
Ahhh yay!! I’m so glad your scan went well and little bean is active!

@HopefulBee its makes the world of difference doesn’t it! I feel like I got more out of that 30 minute appointment than I’ve ever got from doctors or consultants about my heart!

Astar21 · 21/02/2023 14:12

@CaliGirl47 lovely news 💓 so pleased to hear your scan went well! Counting down now to our 12wk scans, hopefully they will come round quick!

Houseelf90 · 21/02/2023 18:37

@Luna57 I finally managed to pick my prescription up this afternoon, it’s Prochlorperazine. Just taking the first one now so hopefully they’ll kick in in the next day or 2 🤞🏼

Blueskies4 · 21/02/2023 21:04

@CaliGirl47 glad you had another positive scan 🤗

@HopefulBee @Passenger87 hope all goes well tomorrow and you’re not too nervous x

Ive booked a scan in private for 10 weeks, as another 3/4 weeks until the 12 week scan just felt too long for the reassurance! I got my booking appointment through today for next Wednesday.. mines in person, so odd how it’s so different dependant upon the trust!

Hope you’re all doing well ladies x

CaliGirl47 · 22/02/2023 07:44

Thank you girls for all your well wishes 💗
Not long until the 12 week scans now ladies. 🌈✨

Ooh yes it sounds like we are very close in dates! @HopefulBee All the best for your scan today 👶🏼✨🌈 I hope you get a nice clear view of a bouncing baby.

Wishing you all the best for your scan today too 💖 @Passenger87 and I hope you get a kind sonographer. Their kindness and empathy towards all the emotions that go into these appointments can make all the difference.

that’s great you’ve got your prescription I hope it brings you some relief soon 💕 @Houseelf90

Hello mamas, may I join?

Found out that I’m pregnant again on 20 January ‘23 after MMC (Sept 22) after HB was detected previously and DC (October 22). I already have a 7 yo daughter.

Also, I’m an older mum (42 yo now). After the loss last time, I was hesitant to register myself to midwife practice and wanted to postpone it until I’m at least 12 weeks, but friends were pushing me to do it asap so I finally did.

I had my first (viability) scan yesterday which was supposed to be 8w4d (the pic showed 8w2d as it used 28 days cycle and mine is shorter). I was a nervous wreck prior the scan, couldn’t zzz the whole night and was preparing myself for the worst, in case they found nothing, no HB/sac etc. To my surprise, all went well. It’s measuring slightly ahead, with a strong flickering HB (over here they only start measuring HB at week 13) which we found easily. Pic attached below

Thank you everyone for your well wishes. Everything went very well, saw a strong heartbeat and baby moved loads already. Still measuring 4 days ahead of what I thought so I guess baby implanted early. Am 9+5 today and have my intake and dating scan (12 week scan) in two weeks 🥰. The midwife said I really shouldn’t worry, the scan was very positive and everything looks perfect, plus miscarriage percentages are much lower after a heartbeat at 9 weeks. So I’m feeling a lot more optimistic and can’t wait to have the next scan and maybe even start sharing the news after that.

@poochielagrande welcome and congratulations on your scan as well!

@Passenger87 thinking of you, hope all goes well with you today too.

Passenger87 · 22/02/2023 11:19

@HopefulBee that's fab delighted for you!

Thanks for all your well wishes ladies. Had a brilliant scan, strong heartbeat and peanut has caught up, now measuring 9+3!!! Have my official dating scan in 2 weeks but at present this little bean is due the same date as my DD birthday 😂

pinkpirlie · 22/02/2023 11:25

@HopefulBee so happy your scan went well.

@poochielagrande welcome to the group! Sounds really positive. I too am a bit older, 39 will be 40 when baby arrives. This is my #1.

@Passenger87 hope your scan goes well today.

@CaliGirl47 so glad your reassurance scan went well. The 12 week scans will be here before we know it. Mine is 14/3 when I will be 12+5. I am having another private reassurance scan tomorrow though at 9+6.

@Blueskies4 I had an initial appointment with the midwifery team, where they took bloods but still haven't had my appointment for booking in proper. I'm almost 10 weeks now so just want them to get on with it. When is your reassurance scan booked for?

@Houseelf90 hope the meds help. I booked to speak to the doctor as I can't keep liquids down. Food is fine, but I'm only managing about 500ml of water a day the past several days and a lot of that I'm throwing back up. Just had three sips of watered down juice and it's made me feel so poorly.
I used to drink about 3ltrs a day so I'm finding it really hard. I don't like taking antihistamines due to restless legs, so I'm really hoping there is an option that isn't antihistamine based.

HopefulBee · 22/02/2023 11:33

@Passenger87 wonderful news! So happy for you. And looks like we will be scan buddies again in two weeks 😉. How funny your due date is your kiddo’s bday!

@pinkpirlie good luck for tomorrow and hope they find sth to help you, sounds very tough with not keeping liquids down. Think we are due the same day btw ☺️.

poochielagrande · 22/02/2023 12:16

Congrats @HopefulBee @Passenger87 ❤️❤️

Thank you @pinkpirlie and good luck! ❤️❤️

Littleheart5 · 22/02/2023 12:26

Congrats @Passenger87 and @HopefulBee ! Fantastic news for you both. Welcome @poochielagrande !

Astar21 · 22/02/2023 13:16

@HopefulBee @Passenger87 wonderful news 💓 so happy for you both!

Welcome @poochielagrande 🥰 amazing news you've had a positive scan. I had a MMC last year too and find scans such a worry. But all good so far. We have to stay positive.

@pinkpirlie hope everything goes well for you tomorrow

Tinkerbell098 · 22/02/2023 13:35

@CaliGirl47 @poochielagrande @HopefulBee @Passenger87 such amazing news on your scans! I'm anxiously waiting for my 12 week scan on Monday! EEK!!!

Has anyone thought about going away in your second trimester to have a little holiday before baby comes? I'm thinking of booking something probably in May, but unsure where to go. Don't think I can do anything long haul, so might end up going somewhere in Europe.

CaliGirl47 · 22/02/2023 13:37

Welcome @poochielagrande and congratulations! 👶🏼🌈✨

Thats fantastic news! I’m so pleased for you both @Passenger87 @HopefulBee

Will be thinking of you and hope all goes well at your scan tomorrow @pinkpirlie 💕💗🌈

pinkpirlie · 22/02/2023 13:47

@Tinkerbell098 I am going to visit a friend and her family at 12+6 in Denmark for 5 nights, and will be staying with them.

We contemplated a proper holiday holiday, but when we started looking the prices are absolutely insane. So much higher than a year or two ago. We decided we just can't afford it with impending loss of income when I'm on mat leave.

Thank you everyone for your wishes for my scan tomorrow. Keeping everything crossed. It's been 3 weeks since my last scan and the anxiety is high.

@HopefulBee my LMP was 16/12 which puts me at 22/9 due date on most calculators. 21/9 on NHS as it takes account of my normal 27 day cycle. Will be interesting to see how the baby measures as my last two scans were completely different (but different places, different machines, different people, etc). But how accurate can measuring something 4-5mm be?

Passenger87 · 22/02/2023 14:50

Thanks ladies!

@pinkpirlie will keep my fingers crossed for you tomorrow xx

@Tinkerbell098 I am supposed to be travelling (one hour flight) in late April but its for hubby's business and with the APS I'm not sure if I should risk it. Where are you thinking of going?

I would love to have a trip to plan! I feel it would be nice and a little distraction
