Hello ladies
I'm 44 and had 4 previous miscarriages..... Found out last wk I'm pregnant and incredibly anxious after so many losses and my age. Lack of symptoms aren't helping besides the stretching twinges.

Is anyone joining me in this journey?

Another one here with fatigue and evening time nausea, just in time for tea time when nothing is appealing to eat 😣 Orange juice is my go to at the moment. And as early as I go up to bed, still struggle to get up every morning 😂 Must be our bodies way of saying rest to grow baby ♥️

LuluLight · 18/02/2023 22:08

Hey ladies, I would like to join you all on your journey and congratulations on your pregnancies.
I’ve had 3 miscarriages in the past 2 years and now I am pregnant again… 6 weeks today! I am cautiously excited.

Passenger87 · 19/02/2023 08:42

Welcome @LuluLight gentle congratulations

CaliGirl47 · 19/02/2023 11:04

Congratulations and welcome @LuluLight 💝

Hello all. How are we all feeling today? I’ve had an intentionally busy week as I’m trying to keep myself distracted. I am 9+1 now and my last pregnancy the baby passed away around 9+4. So I’ve been trying to keep myself busy but I’ve woke up this morning with this impending sense of doom. Like I’m questioning whether my nausea is easing off and my symptoms are going.(even though I know symptoms aren’t reliable) My whole brain is just so anxious. 😔 I know no one can tell me if this pregnancy will be successful or not. And worrying won’t change anything, but it’s so hard as I reach the same stage when everything went wrong last time. I’ve got another Tommy’s scan on Tuesday but now I’m wishing I’d moved it to next week so that I’d be further along. I really hope that the scan goes perfectly on Tuesday at 9+3 and all is well with baby. But even that is not a guarantee that next week will be the same. It’s just getting so hard now to hold on to hope. I’d had some really nauseous days last week and actually was sick a few times which really reassured me. But then I have days with nothing where I start to panic. Anyways. Just needed to get it off my chest. Hope you are all doing well. 💓

HopefulBee · 19/02/2023 12:01

@CaliGirl47 Im sorry you are so anxious! I completely get it. I was also particularly worried around the time that I miscarried last time, although rationally I know it doesn’t mean anything either way. Every pregnancy is different. Your body isn’t set to miscarry at the same time each time.

I don’t know if this helps, but my nausea is also up and down. Friday was terrible, today is sort of fine. And during my successful pregnancy I wrote in my diary at around 9 weeks that I felt much better, barely any nausea, and then a few days later it was worse than ever. From 9-14 weeks it was really on and off, until it finally passed. So I think what you’re describing sounds very normal.

I also have my next scan next week (Wednesday) and will be between 9+1 and 9+5, so around the same as you. Fingers crossed we both see lovely wriggly babies and strong heartbeats. 🤗

Astar21 · 19/02/2023 13:19

@CaliGirl47 I completely get how you're feeling 🤍 My first MMC they could see baby got to 9+4 also. I'm 9+5 today and been so anxious getting through this week. But holding onto the fact the odds are in our favour. Not long to go and hopefully Tuesdays scan should bring you some reassurance.
Symptoms definitely fluctuate. I find the days I eat little and often I feel a bit better, but every day is different.

HopefulBee · 19/02/2023 14:30

@Vwswimmer1 I hope you’re doing well! I just read a study where they discovered that fetal growth in the first trimester is dependent on implantation rather than on ovulation or LMP. They found that if implantation occurred early, the Fetus measures bigger than expected during an early ultrasound and if implantation occurred late, the Fetus seemed smaller than expected. I’m not sure if it helps you, but this might explain why sometimes a perfectly healthy Fetus measures a bit small according to the chart for fetal growth, because that chart is based on LMP.

Rainbowmamma23 · 19/02/2023 14:32

@HopefulBee thanks for sharing that's study, really interesting and reassuring! ♥️

Vwswimmer1 · 19/02/2023 15:53

@HopefulBee thanks so much for this 🥰 really reassuring. Had lots of symptoms so finding that helps too, just trying not too worry. Read lots that suggests you can't actually measure that early and a small angle change can make a massive difference, I think the consultant was massively pessamistic considering there was a heartbeat and I almost wish he'd just been positive to give me this time of hope. 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼 For everyone xx

CaliGirl47 · 19/02/2023 16:47

Thanks ladies. 💕 It’s so nice to feel that I’m not alone on this journey. @HopefulBee @Astar21 Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day. 🌈

Houseelf90 · 20/02/2023 09:03

How is everyone doing? I hope you’ve all had good weekends?

I’m really struggling with what I think is a mix of fatigue and nausea. The only way I can describe it really is how I feel when I’ve got a bad migraine, but minus the headache (although I’ve got a headache too this morning). Crashed on the sofa about 4pm yesterday, woke up for my tea and for about an hour after that and then crashed again until bedtime. This morning I still feel just as awful if not worse. Currently working on my laptop from my bed but considering calling in sick if this doesn’t subside soon 😔
Has anyone got any tips on how to help this?

Littleheart5 · 20/02/2023 12:01

I’m similar @Houseelf90 , I constantly feel like I’m hungover with an underlying nausea feeling no matter what time of the day it is. I find I have to eat the most plain foods imaginable as everything else makes me feel so
ill. going to bed happily by 9pm every night, sometimes earlier, which isn’t like me at all! I’m hoping this all shifts after three months as I dread feeling like this all summer long

HopefulBee · 20/02/2023 12:30

@Houseelf90 I’ve felt like this a few times in this pregnancy. I’m generally not feeling great every day, slightly nauseous and super tired all day. But some days were really horrible, and all I could do was go to bed and call it a day. Maybe medication could also help you? They have helped me cope and I have less days where it’s really bad. Still, I have naps whenever work allows and go to bed early. Could you try going to bed at 8 or something and seeing if that helps you feel better? Nausea and fatigue are also linked, so the more tired you are the worse you will feel overall. And maybe taking one day off to regain some energy can be really helpful.

@Littleheart5 don’t worry, for most of us it does get better after the first trimester. For me, last time, nausea went at 14 weeks and fatigue at 16 weeks. Felt amazing for the whole second trimester and into the third! Fingers crossed for all of us that it won’t last much longer…

Houseelf90 · 20/02/2023 13:20

Sorry to hear you’re also feeling rough @Littleheart5 although it’s nice to know I’m not the only one feeling like this!!

@HopefulBee thank you, hopefully this won’t last too much longer 🤞🏼 did you get meds through your Doctors or midwife? I can’t help but think if I call the doctors they will just tell me it’s an effect of pregnancy and to get on with it! I’ve got my booking in appointment tomorrow so can always chat to my midwife then I guess!

HopefulBee · 20/02/2023 13:32

@Houseelf90 I called the midwife who told me that there is a medication that the doctor has to prescribe. I then called the doctor and she was happy to prescribe it. It’s really safe so no reason they should tell you that you cannot have it. Especially when you’re working full time, it’s not doable if you’re feeling super sick all day long. I was breaking down crying all the time because I couldn’t see how I could cope with work while feeling as I did.

Houseelf90 · 20/02/2023 13:47

@HopefulBee thank you! I’ve just checked on the app and managed to book a callback from the Dr this afternoon! I would have liked to have waited and spoke to the midwife in the morning first but the next available appointment wasn’t until 8th March so thought I might as well book this afternoon whilst it’s available!

Littleheart5 · 20/02/2023 14:02

Delighted to hear that @HopefulBee , I would love to feel like I could rely on my energy again- a casual trip to IKEA yesterday has to be cut short because my fatigue hit like a train!

Houseelf90 · 20/02/2023 15:27

@HopefulBee thank you for the suggestion, just spoken to a very friendly GP who has prescribed some medication for me, and has said to call back if it gets worse/I can’t keep anything down as there’s something stronger they can prescribe too!

HopefulBee · 20/02/2023 17:52

@Littleheart5 omg I so relate to that…today I had so much to do but at midday I had to lie down for half an hour as I just couldn’t stay awake. 😅

@Houseelf90 thats great! I’m so happy for you! My doctor said the same about stronger medication but I don’t need it. Btw, for me it took a few days for the medication to work properly and I had to take it twice a day to make it work. Two days in I felt worse, but then it regulated and I started feeling much better. Still queasy but not so nauseous I couldn’t function. Just saying in case it takes a moment for you too until it kicks in.

Houseelf90 · 20/02/2023 18:45

@HopefulBee thank you, that’s really handy to know! They’re not the quickest at sending the prescriptions to the chemist so I’ve not picked it up yet, I’ll go in the morning as it should be there by then. Did you get the one you put under your tongue?

HopefulBee · 20/02/2023 19:32

@Houseelf90 No mine are little pills you swallow with water but I think they come in different forms. If you are too sick to keep them in they prescribe pessaries too. Do you know what yours are made up of? Mine include pyridoxine (Vit B6) and meclozine.

Luna57 · 20/02/2023 23:17

@Houseelf90 @HopefulBee what tablets did you get? I’ve been on cyclizine for 6 weeks now I was vomiting up to 10 times a day, my week 6 was horrendous I thought I was gonna die and cyclizine helped me within 30 mins. I’m 12 weeks and take 1-2 a day. It does make me sleepy but I’m too scared to switch incase I start vomiting excessively again. I also seen my midwife today and I told her I was on cyclizine and she said I need to start weaning to like every other day but that’s not possible I’ve even cut down to just taking it when I feel nauseous so I know I’ve caught it just in time before the vomiting starts but I don’t think I’d be able to give them up just yet.

I also had a scan today and have been referred to a consultant because baby is measuring 6 days ahead and 5 days is the cut off. She thinks everything will level out it’s just the position of baby but is pushing for extra scans because she knows about my miscarriages and wants me to see baby more which is nice. It’s funny because with ds I was referred to the consultant for a dating scan because I wasn’t far enough on because I have long cycles and the one time I have a text book cycle and conceive they’re now measuring too far ahead 😂

HopefulBee · 21/02/2023 08:31

Hey everyone, does anyone have any scan scheduled this week? I have my next scan tomorrow, am both nervous and excited. Should be between 9 and 9+5 tomorrow so hopefully we will see a wriggly baby with a strong heartbeat.

@Luna57 I didn’t have to be sick all the time like that so I was prescribed a medication for nausea which includes vitamin B6 and sth called meclozine. Yours sounds like sth you get prescribed for hyperemesis so it’s a stronger medication. Sounds like you’ve been through it! I’m glad the meds help and can understand you’re reluctant to let go of them!

Houseelf90 · 21/02/2023 08:43

@Luna57 I’ve not picked mine up yet but the doctor said she was prescribing the meds for milder nausea, so I don’t think it’ll be what you’re on by the sounds of what you’ve been through. I hope it’s starting to subside for you now!! It may be worth a chat with the GP to see if you can go onto something milder? I’ll pick my prescription up this morning work depending, and let you know what I’ve got!

Passenger87 · 21/02/2023 08:45

Hi @HopefulBee I have my next scan tomorrow. Really nervous about it.

I've not been super active as I'm feeling pretty miserable. Mild nausea all day, extreme fatigue and cramping and my boobs can't handle even the lightest graze. I can't wait for this portion to pass
