Due September 2023 after miscarriage 🌈

Hello ladies
I'm 44 and had 4 previous miscarriages..... Found out last wk I'm pregnant and incredibly anxious after so many losses and my age. Lack of symptoms aren't helping besides the stretching twinges.

Is anyone joining me in this journey?

Well I was an absolute nervous wreck this morning 😥 crying and practically shaking as I walked into the scan room. But the Tommy’s nurse who did the scan was absolutely lovely. Thankfully all was well and we saw a little jelly baby measuring right on track with my dates 7+4 with a flickering heartbeat 🥲👶🏼🌈😭 I absolutely burst into tears. She said she could see a bit of bleeding near where the pregnancy implanted so it’s possible I might get some spotting. But still to let them know if I have any bleeding at all so they can double check all is okay. And she also said I could come back in two weeks for another reassurance scan. Which is amazing. I feel so relieved and actually feel quite hopeful today that everything might turn out okay. I know an ultrasound is only a snapshot in time, and nothing is ever guaranteed, but I really hope this little peanut hangs in there. 💗🥰 🌈

@Houseelf90 @pinkpirlie yes mines like a sharp pain too. Reassuring to know it's not just me 😂 Thank you for the tip! My scan last week showed a corpus luteum cyst on the ovary I ovulated form (which is normal) but could be that causing the sharp twinge! Dr Google reassures bean is snug within the uterus, but we do think the worst don't we 😅

@CaliGirl47 aww wonderful news 💓 so happy for you! I also burst into tears at mine last week, it's such a relief 🥰 That's great they're going to scan you again for reassurance. Come on sticky beans!

@CaliGirl47 thrilled for you that's so wonderful.

Just home from my scan and they said there has been huge progress since last week. We are measuring a little behind my dates at 6+4 but everything looks great! Saw the flicker of a heartbeat and they are happy everything is pr9gressing as it should.

Had a cry, DH hasn't stopped smiling since. This is the first time we attended an appointment where there wasnt a "but" or a somber tone. Felt so lovely.

@CaliGirl47 & @Passenger87 so happy your scans have gone well today. I was exactly the same in my scans, couldn't stop crying! The sonographers are really good and supportive though.

@CaliGirl47 thank you, it certainly is!! My other half is really excited now, speaking to and kissing my belly 🤣 so I guess it’s good he’s relaxing about it now and the further I get with no bleeding the less anxious I am too 🤞🏼

@Blueskies4 hey lovely I'm under a consultant at the recurrent miscarriage clinic. They scanned me at my first appointment so they may well do you too. Are u on cyclogest too xx

I read today that the miscarriage rate drops to 4.2% when you see a heart rate at 7 weeks. So things are looking good for you! Let’s just hold onto that. I am really hoping I will also have a good experience later today but am getting more and more nervous. I kind of feel like I can’t be that lucky, you know what I mean? Like I’m kidding myself that I will also have good news. I’ve been feeling really positive but this morning I suddenly felt very uncertain. Still 4.5 hrs to go…

@Houseelf90 it's great when they start to relax isnt it! It's hard on them too. Sometimes I've felt robbed of some of the joy, but today we had a taste of the joy and I had forgotten what it was like

@Passenger87 it really is great! I think the losses affected him more than he likes to let on. But this also feels different. When I’ve talked about things before when I’ve been pregnant or looked at baby clothes, prams etc he’s rolled his eyes and got fed up and now he’s completely engrossed in it as well, talking about maternity wear etc so I feel like he is a lot more positive that this is actually happening this time!
I’m so pleased that you got to experience the excitement again 🥰

@Furbabymum15 i thought I’d read that someone was but just couldn’t find the post! Ok that’s good to know thanks, fingers crossed they do tomorrow! Not yet but I’ve read only good things about it… had some spotting this week so hopefully if tomorrow I have good news they may prescribe it!

@HopefulBee i read this too… 8 weeks less than 2% (think I read it on the Tommys website!)

The scan went well!! We saw a heartbeat, and even a tiny bit of movement from baby. Measured 4 days ahead of what I thought, not sure how that’s possible because I used ovulation sticks - maybe early implantation? Not sure how that works… but anyway, baby measured at 7+5, good heartbeat and all looking great. The midwives said it’s a very good sign that all is going well. Will have another reassurance scan in 2 weeks. OH and I are over the moon. Really hoping this means we are going to have a healthy baby in our arms in September!

That’s wonderful news! @HopefulBee and measuring 4 days ahead is so exciting! Baby must be growing nicely. So pleased for you. 🤗 I’d say it’s worth celebrating. Haha. I’m currently enjoying some fruit and nut cadburys for my celebration 😋🍫 That’s so nice that you’ve got a follow up scan in two weeks too. 🌈👶🏼💗

@Blueskies4 I'm under the recurrent miscarriage clinic, but I haven't actually had an appointment in person as I got pregnant again this time before the referral came through. So I've had telephone appointments and been put on cylogest. I had a scan at EGU due to spotting, but the RMC aren't able to scan me again as it seems they're so busy. I hope your appointment goes well and you get it prescribed along with a scan x

@Blueskies4 that's great news! I've been on the cyclogest 2 weeks now and had no spotting since. Could be coincidence but I feel like it's helping
