Hello ladies
I'm 44 and had 4 previous miscarriages..... Found out last wk I'm pregnant and incredibly anxious after so many losses and my age. Lack of symptoms aren't helping besides the stretching twinges.

Is anyone joining me in this journey?

@BEL88 morning lovely..... I spoke to the recurrent miscarriage clinic and my midwife this morning and both said EPU should have seen me on Saturday. Midwife has told me to complain. The recurrent miscarriage clinic have booked me a scan at 11 so at least I will know what's happening x

@Furbabymum15 that's great they are seeing you today. Yes, I would definitely complain about EPU not seeing you over the weekend. Everything crossed for you, really hope it's nothing and your bean's all fine X

Furbabymum15 · 06/02/2023 12:51

@Tinkerbell098 and all the lovely ladies who have asked about me. The recurrent miscarriage clinic scanned me this morning and by great wonder there's a beautiful jelly baby with a strong heart beat!!!! Measuring 8 wks.
They can't see anything what caused the heavy bleed so hopefully all will progress I'm so relieved. I've still got brown spotting but fingers crossed xx

Passenger87 · 06/02/2023 13:30

@Furbabymum15 what a rollercoaster you've been on. So so pleased the scan went well.

So awful that they should have given you that reassurance Saturday! I hope you are minding yourself today. You've been through the ringer

Bless you @Furbabymum15 I bet you’ve been through every emotion possible in the last few days!!

Has anyone received details for their booking in appointment? I think this usually happens around 10 weeks but wondering how much notice you got? I know this will be different for each area but I am getting impatient not knowing when I’ll hear anything and not knowing how much notice I’ll have to sort out work or changing plans!
Also is it normal for you to attend this appointment on your own or with your partner? (Sorry for all the questions!)

localbunny · 06/02/2023 14:51

@Houseelf90 I got mine through really quickly and it's this week! I'll only be 7wks. My letter says partner can't join for first 15 mins (presume when they check how relationship is etc) then is welcome to join, but don't know if different trusts are different.

00Bubbles00 · 06/02/2023 14:59

Hi all, hoping I might be able to join? I am 6+5 and due 27th September. Had a MC in December and another before my son was born in 2020 so very much holding my breath and feeling very uncertain. I have just booked a scan for tomorrow as I have noticeable fewer "symptoms" than previously. I know they often come and go but in my prior pregnancies I've always had really sore breasts and in this one, they seem completely normal (despite me grabbing them multiple times during the day) and the nausea I was experiencing last week has gone. Sigh. Pregnancy tests are still coming back the same as last week but I'm driving myself mad so have decided to just book a scan and see what is going on. This bit is so so hard!

Houseelf90 · 06/02/2023 15:39

@localbunny thank you! I saw they asked questions about the relationship so I wondered whether they preferred to see you alone, but that makes sense that they split it up, 15 mins alone and then the partner can join! Hopefully I’ll get mine through soon!

@00Bubbles00 welcome! I have the same due date and also had a loss in December! My symptoms have been really hit and miss, but I have had a lot of reassurance from this thread! I’ve booked a private scan for next Saturday! Fingers crossed your scan goes well!

00Bubbles00 · 06/02/2023 16:15

oh gosh - we are snap @Houseelf90 ! I promised myself I would be super relaxed this time and just try to forget I was pregnant, take it all in my stride/not obsess over pregnancy tests/get early scans.....Am on pregnancy test eleventy billion/spend the day hoping I feel sick and trying to work out if my boobs feel bigger and am having an early scan... 😳....no willpower at all...At least by this time tomorrow I will feel like I have a better idea of what is going on. You have done better than me by holding out to the weekend! Hope it all goes well for you!

pinkpirlie · 06/02/2023 16:28

@Furbabymum15 omg I am soooo happy for you. That's such amazing news. I only wish that you'd been seen over the weekend to avoid these days of stress you've had to ensure.

@Houseelf90 I got my appointment through on 30th Jan for the 16th Feb (will be 8+6 by then). It came via text and contains no details of what to expect. Just a date, time and a place. A couple of days later I got a letter for the 12 weeks scan, on 14th March (will be 12+4).

@00Bubbles00 my symptoms come and go and it's causing me so much anxiety, but from everything in this thread it seems to be perfectly normal. I hadn't been nauseous for several days last week after loads of sickness over the weekend prior, then this Saturday and Sunday it came back with a vengeance I pretty much spent both days with my head in a bucket. Now it's completely gone again. I would put the tests down, I'm not sure they are as reliable after so many weeks anyway. I am trying to focus on the approach of "today I am pregnant". Hope your scan tomorrow goes well.

Houseelf90 · 06/02/2023 16:58

@00Bubbles00 I am the same 🤣 constantly checking online for what symptoms I should or could have and then assessing myself to see if I have them!! We are only waiting because that’s the first appointment the clinic had that me and my partner could both make, else I’d have been in there at 6 weeks 🙈 and now I have that booked I’m being impatient about getting my NHS appointments! It’s a never ending cycle!

@pinkpirlie ooh thank you! You have plenty of notice for yours then! Also good to know that it may come through as a text! I’ve been checking on my “my pregnancy notes” account and I saw that my midwife changed quite early (possibly to one more experienced with losses?) but haven’t heard anything!

Astar21 · 06/02/2023 17:31

@Furbabymum15 aww this is such wonderful news to hear 💓 so relieved for you!

I had my booking in appointment today (at 7w5d) DH came in with me and it was fine. Also got my dating scan booked in for March when I'll be just over 12w. Don't know wether to wait til then or book a private scan before hand for some reassurance

localbunny · 06/02/2023 18:06

Feeling a bit rubbish this evening as I've had some spotting. All brown so far. I'm hoping it's old and has just been dislodged by my internal scan yesterday. Puts me on edge though, especially as I feel generally achy and haven't had many symptoms last few days. Will keep you all updated.

Blueskies4 · 06/02/2023 18:54

@Furbabymum15 this is such amazing news, so happy for you (and hopefully the fact that I had a little tear for you means the hormones are still high here ha ha!)

@Houseelf90 no booking scan for me as yet although it is super early.. they did send me a email when I registered saying they aim to get back within 28 days!

@00Bubbles00 hope the scan goes well! I’m the same with symptoms and counting the days until I can get a scan x

Houseelf90 · 06/02/2023 19:07

Thank you @Astar21 and @Blueskies4….it’s really varied with the different areas then!! After I had lost my first pregnancy I did have a text from the midwife asking how many weeks pregnant I was (despite me letting them know I had lost it - and this wasn’t the last/only time I was asked about it from someone in the NHS!!) so I should try and find what date that was…I think it was before this point so I guess I was expecting to hear something by now!

@localbunny fingers crossed it’s just old blood disturbed by the scan like you say 🤞🏼

Furbabymum15 · 06/02/2023 19:10

@Astar21 thankyou lovely I'm so relieved xx my booking in appointment was meant to be today too but its been rearranged for next wk.
I'm glad yours went well nice to have your 12 wk scan booked too.... I'm sure everything will be absolutely fine but I know the worry. Stay positive lovely xx

@localbunny hope you’re ok.. I’m the same with the spotting x

Astar21 · 06/02/2023 19:41

@Furbabymum15 thank you lovely 💕 trying my best to stay positive

@Houseelf90 how far along are you now? I'd perhaps chase it up so you're not left in limbo and can plan. Do you have a community midwife number you can call? I also have an online app to log into that lists all appointments and gives after summaries too

@localbunny sounds to me like it could be irritation from the scan, but I know it's still not nice to see. Hope you're okay
