The Doona - I looked at it a bit, but I think it’s got a pretty shoddy safety rating?

Yeah they're not really recommended as small babies shouldn't be in car seats for that long at all, I think 20 minutes when they're newborn

@RandomCatGenerator sorry! The Day Assessment Unit that's linked on to the back of my local labour ward at the hospital. I honestly had no idea how common anterior placentas are! The relief when you hear a heartbeat/see them wiggling is crazy isn't it! I think my shoulders came down about a foot 😂

I have an anterior placenta too and haven't felt anything yet at 19 weeks, with DD she was wriggling loads from about 17 weeks

clouise30 · 08/02/2023 14:40

@MrNook hopefully soon for you!! I think this little pickle got herself buried deep somewhere and was all comfy. I had a chiropractor appointment yesterday afternoon after having her heartbeat checked and she used a massage gun across the tops of my thighs & bum & she woke straight up 😂! I have images of her in there like "hey... what is going on" 😂😂

There are so many of us! I didn’t realise it was common!

Glad it’s not just me. I am SO HUNGRY.

Ive started buying incredibly dark chocolate as I can’t eat as much of that as it’s too rich. Otherwise I would be on several bars of chocolate a day.

@habiller in talking 85% green and blacks dark chocolate, hard to just chow down on. That said, I am right now doing just that…

The UTI I had that had been lingering appears to be gone! Hopefully it'll stay away this time 😊.

Most people have more interesting pregnancy cravings but I've been drinking pint after pint of Robinsons Orange 🤣🤣

BackOfTheMum5net · 09/02/2023 09:57

@Rutennotou I'm mad for tapwater! It's so good right now - can't get enough of the stuff!

Just as well as I'm really missing my 5 cups of tea a day. 😂

Rutennotou · 09/02/2023 10:19

@BackOfTheMum5net Haha I've kind of went off coffee and just have the odd cup of tea, one or two a day 😅

Spoke too soon about the UTI, in absolute agony. Waiting for the GP to authorise an appointment with the nurse to get antibiotics 🤨. Used to just be able to request to see the nurse and go up that same day! This will be the second course though.

BackOfTheMum5net · 09/02/2023 10:29

@Rutennotou Keep flushing it through with Robinson’s squash!

RandomCatGenerator · 09/02/2023 11:31

Oh no @Rutennotou - get well soon.

Hey all I'm 18 weeks pregnant tomorrow, but not really showing at all.

I'm getting a bit worried although all was fine at 13 week scan and 16 week midwife appointment (we heard the heartbeat). Is anyone else not really showing at this stage? Should I contact my midwife?

I’m 18 weeks 5 days with my first baby. I’ve only recently started showing a little. I occasionally feel flutters, but not much. My midwife didn’t check for the heart beat at my 16 week appointment :( nervously waiting for my scan next week.

rach971 · 09/02/2023 13:28

@Summersun3 Is it your first? With my first I didn't show until 6/7 months. Now pregnant with my second and I am showing a bit but I swear my bump has got smaller recently 😫 Probably just me being paranoid, because my trousers are still just as tight. But I take bump photos everyday and it looks smaller to me. I don't know, I worry about everything 😂

squirrelnutkins1 · 09/02/2023 13:55

I feel like my bump is smaller, but it feels firmer so I'm wondering if it's less bloated now and more baby!?

I've been eating like an absolute pig too eek. We're away with friends and they all keep teasing me about it 😂

BackOfTheMum5net · 09/02/2023 14:53

@Summersun3 whether or not you’re showing yet has nothing at all to do with the health of your baby and everything to do with your unique physiology! If you’re tall the baby has more space inside to grow, if you have strong stomach muscles and it’s a first pregnancy you won’t balloon as early/as much… and probably other variables besides. Try not to worry x and enjoy fitting into your clothes!

PinkPink1 · 09/02/2023 15:29

Is anyone else in the 2nd trimester and still absolutely exhausted? I’m nearly 19 weeks and I have felt so fatigued all day. I can barely keep my eyes and head up. Head feels fuzzy. I thought I’d have more energy in the 2nd trimester. I was so exhausted and nauseous in the 1st trimester. Luckily I wfh so no one can see how tired I am (although I haven’t napped).

Leezo · 09/02/2023 15:34

Hey! I am super late to the party and completely missed this thread.....I hope you guys don't mind another tagger on??
I'm a 40+ 'geriatric mother' ( I hate that term....) who is 18+1 today and an EDD of 12/7/23. So far so good after a bit of a back story of 7 previous losses.
I managed to skim read most of the posts and we all sound very much in the insomnia, constipation, hip pain boat. Oh and I am also an anterior placenta girl although I'm totally convinced I may be feeling some wriggling post eating/drinking?
Had my last check up with the MW 2 weeks ago and eventually got to hear the HB - jeez it took forever to find and there were some serious anxious moments!! 20 week scan in just under 2 weeks so very excited/worried/anxious about that - does it ever end??
We decided against harmony testing and NT is not routine in our country. We've also decided against finding out the sex although I feel I may be in the minority in the group it's been lovely hearing all of your gender reveals!
I can't believe most of us are nearly halfway there - exciting times ahead.....

MamaSJ15 · 09/02/2023 16:19

@PinkPink1 have you been tested for anaemia? This can make you feel very tired, may need some extra iron. I needed extra in my first pregnancy but so far all good in this one!

How far on are you? I was told not to expect regular movements until 22 weeks, maybe even longer with my frontal cushiony placenta!! Some of my chums have said when they were anxious they would eat sugar or drink very cold water and lie on their left side and that normally brought on some activity. I can't verify that as I'm too early but you could give it a go. I totally understand the anxiety - it can be crippling!
