Child's farm or Johnsons?

Starting to stock up on stuff for my baby is child's farm or johnsons washes and moisturisers better?

When DS was a newborn, until he was about 2, he had bad eczema. I swore by Aveeno for kids, I found child's farm too scented, not a fan of Johnson's. Aveeno is expensive but Boots do 30-40% off from
Time to time so I'd stock up!!

My 2 have always been fine with Johnson’s. I would recommend not stocking up before baby is born because you might find that the brand you choose doesn’t agree with baby’s skin.

Neither! I found baby Dove or Aveeno to be the best. Child’s farm actually aggravated mine and my eldest eczema so not as friendly as they claim.

@theydontspeakforus I actually got a few of the unscented child's farm bottles but even tho I bought some I still haven't decided what I want to put her on I may get a few bottles of aveeno baby just incase

Weleda, DS has eczema and this is the best I've found by far. A little goes a long way with it too

Agree with pp, stocking up is risky as my oldest couldn't use Johnsons or Childs Farm, the only one that agreed with her was aveeno, dove and my little coco. Myself, friends and family got me lots of Johnsons and child's farm products when they were on offer and gave them away in the end. Sensitive skin/excema came as a complete surprise for us too as neither myself or husband had ever had it ourselves so we hadn't given a second thought to even the baby/gentle products causing a reaction.

Child's Farm because they smell so good but my DD never had skin issues so it was ok. I love sniffing her hair after the strawberry and mint shampoo.

For the bath - Johnsons is a false economy and Childs farm works out cheaper because you get some many more bubbles out of a tiny dash of it whilst Johnsons just doesn’t foam, or at least it doesn’t in London water!
Baby lotion - weleda is lovely but aveeno worked just as well at a fraction of the cost.
Weleda is the hands down best nappy cream and I won’t use anything else.
Aquaphor is an American staple and great for dribble rash, protecting cheeks in cold weather, any sore creases etc.

My DD was allergic to quite a few, including Johnson's but was ok with Child's Farm so we've stuck with that. It's pretty cheap from Amazon, especially on subscribe and Save.

I'm always sniffing my sons head after using the strawberry and mint.

My boy has (had, it’s much better now) bad eczema and I found the unscented childs farm stuff to be very good for him. That and Aveeno.

I wouldn’t buy anything like that until baby’s here and everything has settled. You probably won’t use anything for the first couple of months but even then it can be a case or trial and error for what suits your baby’s skin. Our DS has such sensitive skin so can’t use a load of stuff

We didn't use anything with DS until he was over a year old.

He had no hair and just water was fine for washing him. Wasn't until he was storming around getting sweaty and muddy that he needed products.

I'd think carefully before using Johnson's.

Put a ph strip in a bottle of their no sting formulas before you put it on baby skin

baby needs just warm water for the first 6 months or so and unless baby has exzema no moisturiser is neccessary.

Definitely childs farm over Johnson, I wouldn't use Johnson. Personally I'd wait though, my DD had eczema and it seems to differ what suits different babies, for example she never got on with aveeno.

Some of the best advice my midwife gave me was use coconut oil (no particular brand, just any generic coconut oil you can buy in supermarkets for cooking). Can be used from birth and it's amazing for their skin. Never used any other cream or lotion on my baby who is now 20m. I also use boots own brand bath bubbles.

Just water for the first year, maybe a bit of coconut oil in the water if youre in a very hard water area (but baby will become like a slippery piglet so watch out trying to get them out!)

We also didn’t use anything like shampoo until well over a year when they actually had hair. And basted them in olive or coconut oil on occasion to moisturise, but otherwise water was enough.

In addition to what others have said about not knowing what will suit your baby, also bear in mind how little they are and how little hair they have. One bottle will last you literally months- no need to stock up!

I used childsfarm and aveeno baby, whichever was on offer. 😂

Johnsons smells so gorgeous. Ds had bad eczema so I vote Aveeno less perfumes.
