I'm 4 weeks 1 day pregnant..got BFP at 12 dpo (which is 2 days late for my period as I have a short lutueal phase). Tested positive on 13 and 14 dpo (yday) too but stopped myself from testing today.

I've had cramps on and off faintly throughout but def noticed more today and last night and now I've had some brown Cm/discharge/bleeding. Enough to see on pantyliner and when wiping. I'm so so worried. I know it could be implantation bleeding but if I got positives from 12dpo then surely by 15dpo this should have happened a while ago?

If you had bleeding when did you have it? How much was it? So so worried this is a chemical and wish there was something I could do to stop it going :(

I had brown spotting at 5 weeks and am now 14 weeks. 12 week scan was fine

serenaisaknobhead · 19/11/2022 19:21

Sorry you're going through this.

Could you possibly contact your GP to see if you can get a scan?

Wouldn't see anything on the scan at 4 weeks

IWillBeWaxingAnOwl · 19/11/2022 19:23

@serenaisaknobhead there's no point in OP getting a scan unfortunately - at 4 weeks there is absolutely nothing to see on a scan. Early Pregnancy Units won't offer one until approx 6-7 weeks due to this.

Emmamoo89 · 19/11/2022 19:23

Hope it works out. Can still get implantation bleeding at 4 weeks x

SunshineIndoors123 · 19/11/2022 19:26

I had brown spotting at 5 and 9 weeks. I had a scan at 10 weeks and the sonographer told me it was probably implantation bleeding. My baby is 4 months old now. Good luck x

Hopefulbride18 · 19/11/2022 19:29

My implantation bleeding has always been around the 4 -5 week mark I think! I don't think you're out yet, fingers crossed 🤞🏻

RoseAndGeranium · 19/11/2022 19:29

I had variously brown, pink, and occasionally bright red spotting from 5 weeks through to about 12 weeks with my first baby, who is now 4. No idea why but it did him no harm.

Rosiestraws · 19/11/2022 20:00

thanks for all the replies so far...I've had to leave a day out and head home because I'm so worried... bought some pregnancy tests too which will no doubt just make me even more upset/worried if they're negative or faint line (very hydrated and been to the loo a lot already!!) but I don't now what else to do..

I've seen more more pinky colored CM when wiping now. Just feeling a bit crampy still and so worried.

DP is abroad from tomorrow too for 8 days too so I'm so worried it's going to happen and I'll be on my own feeling heartbroken. Parents away too typical timing. Ugh just praying it's implantation...but just feel so much like early period and hard to know

How much spotting/bleeding was it when you had it? I had a browny cm stain on my knickers and when wiped and then I put down a pantyliner and after a few hours there was another little brown mark (2p coin sized let's say) then a few hours after I've had some pinky cm when wiping

I bled so much I lived in sanitary towels for the first few weeks. Can’t remember what they said it was in the end some kind of cervical abrahasion I think. Was in and out of the scan department. Got signed off work for a suspected miscarriage for a week.

anywhooooo have a crazy 8 month old running around now so don’t give up hope 🤗 Sending lots of love xxx

mammawho · 19/11/2022 20:16

The first few times I had this, it unfortunately ended in a miscarriage/chemical pregnancy, whatever the right term is. They were always around 5 weeks.

When I got pregnant again, I had the same thing and bled for about a week but it wasn't a lot of blood, it was brown and at times red but not a tonne. Luckily it worked out and she's 2 now

Orangesare · 19/11/2022 20:24

I’ve bled every time in early pregnancy. First time ended in a miscarriage, second time got a scan and the said it was a heamatoma (sp) and he’s 5, third time bled so much at period like intervals that I didn’t realise I was pregnant.
I looked up the stats a lot second time and bleeding doesn’t increase the risk of miscarriage overall.

Rosiestraws · 19/11/2022 20:36

thanks so much for the replies, it's such a worrying time

I've done a first response and the line is so faint, nothing like it has been the last few days. I literally had a wee about 1 hour before, if that, and drank loads so it was also very pale wee too though so I don't know what to think. It could be because I'm too hydrated etc to pick up much hormone or I guess it could be more likely as its a chemical and I'm losing it. So upset. I know all I can really do it wait until tomorrow and do a test with fmu but just so upsetting. Praying with everything that it sticks..

did anyone keep doing pregnancy tests when they had bleed and did they stay as strong? or for those whove had losses did they get faint like mine is :(

Yes I had a massive bleed at just under 5 weeks. Bright red blood all over the bed, it didn't stop for ages (was after having sex). It was scary, but I'm now lying next to a snoring 2 year old.

IWillBeWaxingAnOwl · 19/11/2022 20:40

Tests getting fainter does typically indicate a v early miscarriage BUT that only counts if it's comparing FMU to FMU using the same test type. You need to compare like to like. Wishing you all the best x

ColinRobinsonsfamiliar · 19/11/2022 20:44

Yes I had bleeding.
Sorry but I never bothered repeating pregnancy tests because to me, they simply told me that I was carrying pregnancy hormones. Nothing else.

Following miscarriage, after all bleeding had stopped, I continued to get a positive test for up to 4 weeks.

So after everything had gone and bleeding had stopped, there were residual hormones strong enough to show up positive on a pee test.

No point and waste of money.

HakunaMatata4 · 19/11/2022 20:44

I had brown discharge around 4/5weeks, EPAU did a scan and blood tests, unfortunately it ended in miscarriage and I had to continue to have blood tests for the next 4 weeks after to make sure my HCG level went back down x

ofmybloodyself · 19/11/2022 20:48

Between 4 weeks and 16 weeks I had episodes of Belle ding in both my pregnancies, for a variety of reasons. I also had cramping from about 3 days before my period was due pretty much the light both pregnancies. I now have 3 (one and twins) tweenagers.
No one can know what is happening for you but what you describe is certainly not reason to assume the worst. Really hope it works out for you☺️

ofmybloodyself · 19/11/2022 20:48

Episodes of bleeding, I mean!

Smearywindowsagain · 19/11/2022 20:50

With dd1 I had browny/ red blood at 4 weeks/ 8 weeks and 12 weeks ( basically when my period was due). It was mostly when I wiped and not tons. With dd2 I basically had a period and wouldn’t have thought I was pregnant only I had decent lines on tests. With her it was proper red blood. It is actually really common to get bleeding. Bizarrely with my missed miscarriage at 11 weeks I had virtually no spotting.

guidedbythelightt · 19/11/2022 20:51

Once and I lost the baby. Again and the baby survived.

Bleeding doesn't always mean anything is really wrong, but always worth getting checked.

I also had virtually nothing with my missed miscarriage at 11 weeks but bled lightly between 7 -10 weeks with 2 pregnancies and 18 weeks with another .
All 3 produced healthy babies despite bleeding.
Sending positive thoughts ,i know how distressing this is.

Yahyahs22 · 19/11/2022 20:59

I had something that resembles a period about 3 weeks in and the cramps started almost immediately and stayed up until he was born. It can be normal. I've heard miscarriages can be very painful. Take the test, it will give you peace of mind one way or another x
