@bubble55 it went well, heartbeat was 165 and measuring two days ahead.... but when she was scanning me I felt a cramp, then went to the loo and there was loads of blood jusy gushed out of me, she re scanned after and it all looked fine and she couldn't see a bleed, so I just don't understand I'm absolutely in bits

ScaredMum12 · 11/11/2022 18:20

Did you have an internal scan @Moosh18? it could be you have a really sensitive cervix xxx

bubble55 · 11/11/2022 19:27

@Moosh18 was it bright red? At least you have seen a heartbeat, take the good news from it xx

Bright red loads of it, then passed like a small clot and it's stopped since then, so I'm hop by that's it, they re scanned and everything was okay again but I'm not convinced x

Snugglemonkey · 11/11/2022 21:30

@Moosh18 I am so pleased you saw a heartbeat. I know it is really scary, but honestly, some people bleed quite a lot and it is all grand. I gushed sometimes, had several clots, was convinced I could not possibly still be pregnant so many times. It was awful. Then it just stopped. Noone could explain why it happened, or why it stopped.

Moosh18 · 11/11/2022 22:03

@Snugglemonkey thank you, I just don't get how baby looked perfect! Heart rate was 165! Measuring two days ahead, then such a big bleed, but now stopped x

Honestly, I couldn't understand either. I bled every Saturday night without fail. Often on and off through Sunday. Epu only operated Mon to Sat, so had to wait for Monday, spent Sunday in bits. Scan on the Monday, everything grand. My nerves were totally shredded!

Moosh18 · 11/11/2022 22:18

@Snugglemonkey this is my issue had the scan today all fine, big bleed but epu closed till Monday, I imagine they'll see me Monday or Tuesday, but it's like a lifetime wait!

Was you bleed quite bad if you don't mind me asking? Mine was literally like a period but only for a couple hours, one clot then stopped! X

I had at least one bad one a week from 5-13 weeks. Like a gush and there were clots, I needed a pad on. The following day, I could usually just wear a liner. It did occasionally happen midweek as well. I suppose I remember the Saturday evening ones most because they freaked me out more. I was scared every time, but my partner got v blasé about it. He just decided it was normal and not something to panic about, but I felt we were in constant danger. It was just like a period and there was no way I could convince myself it was not a miscarriage until I saw the scans. I googled like mad and saw it happened to others for longer, so I suppose it was lucky it didn't for me. Hopefully you will be one of the people where it is a wee blip that is not repeated and you can start feeling confident about things!

Snugglemonkey · 11/11/2022 23:57

Actually, the first was 4 weeks. I did ivf and the first one was the day before testing day. So I didn't believe the positive result, because I was having a period in my head. So from 4-13 weeks.

Moosh18 · 12/11/2022 06:13

@Snugglemonkey thank you, I'm so so pleased everything worked out for you, I really appreciate you taking the time to reply!

I've got up this morning and fully expected to have loads of blood when I went to the loo, I was havjng nightmares all night about it, but there is nothing at all not even a drop. I feel sick still too. I'm going to call epu first thing Monday and get a scan, I'm just praying when she pressed on and I felt a cramp it dislodged whatever was causing the bleed and that's the end of it. But after seeing that much I'm fearing the worst. In my last pregnancy I had a bleed at just before 12 weeks and went for a scan, they confirmed the baby had died a few days before, and that wasn't anywhere near as much blood.... that was in June this year 😭

Moosh18 · 12/11/2022 06:29

The sonographer re scanned me whilst I was there to look for the bleed as it literally happened the second I got off the table... but she said she couldn't see a bleed at all. Which is so strange.:..

Did they find a reason for yours? X

Daniki · 12/11/2022 06:34

Glad to hear you had a positive scan @bubble55. Just had done pink spotting myself, EPU closed til Monday so it's going to be a long 2 days 🥴

Moosh18 · 12/11/2022 06:37

@Daniki try not to stress at pink spotting I had it twice before my scan and baby was measuring ahead! It's only since then I've had issues, so I'd say pink is fine xxx

Daniki · 12/11/2022 06:41

@Moosh18 hope so! I had a miscarriage in august so it’s still very fresh in my head 🙈😔 the nurse told me at the time the wand from the internal scan can cause irritation so I’d say that’s what happening you? Such an anxious time waiting to 12 weeks! x

Moosh18 · 12/11/2022 07:11

@Daniki no mine was an abdominal scan, as soon as she pressed on I felt a cramp, then when I stood up there was a gush, x

Snugglemonkey · 12/11/2022 12:00

I have never had any reason. It is hard to wrap your head around when it seems so random. You just need to hold on to the fact that it does not mean it is all over and try to stay as calm as you can. I am so sorty for your losses. I know how devastating that is x

Cockerdileteeth · 12/11/2022 15:34

@Moosh18 I'm sorry for you loss, and that you're going through this worry now. I had similar - pink spotting, brown spotting, a couple of bleeds (the first, like you, at my first scan which was just before 7 weeks). The cause of the bleeding in my case was a sub chronic haematoma, a small area of pooled blood/bloot clot that forms between the membranes and the uterine wall in some pregnancies. My baby was fine, and arrived safe and well just 2 days off his due date, though it was an anxious time and I had many scans. The haematoma fluctuated in size but eventually disappeared in the second trimester. Fingers crossed for you for good scan news next week.

Moosh18 · 12/11/2022 16:04

@Cockerdileteeth thank you so much, I'm hoping it was a heMatoma that she somehow dislodged, as as soon as the clot came it stopped, it's really really panicked me, I want this to work so much, after seeing such a perfect baby yesterday my heart will break if we lose it x

Cockerdileteeth · 12/11/2022 17:48

Fingers crossed @Moosh18. I think I'm remembering right that they didn't see the SCH on my first scan, and I was frantically googling possible reasons for the bleeding. By two weeks later, blood had re-pooled or the SCH had got bigger and it was evident on the next scan and with hindsight explained the previous weeks of spotting and bleeding.

Distraction is your friend on this rollercoaster of hope and fear (I had a very clean tidy house for a few months). Having seen the heartbeat is reason for optimism and a hopeful time, but hope is also what gets us by the throat and stops us breathing, isn't it?
DS is 8 now, but I remember every single **ing one of those scans with him like they were yesterday. Good luck at your next one, everything crossed.

Hi ladies! I wanted to say thanks for your stories, it has helped calm my nerves a bit. I am an IVF pregnancy (6-7 weeks I think) and had light pink bleeding when I wipe. My first ultrasound is in a few days and my clinic is currently closed. Praying for a positive outcome! I had a missed miscarriage last year and it’s so hard to stay positive.

Moosh18 · 26/11/2022 08:44

@PomJuice hey lovely, so I had bleeding from 6 weeks, some light pink some brown, never red, then at 8 weeks I had a massive bleed with clots, lasting a few hours, then followed by a week of light brown, I am now 11 weeks In a few days and have had several scans, all looking okay, have another tomorrow which I am so so nervous for. But at my last scan they could see a small area of bruising which they think was the cause for the bleed! I'm sure everything is absolutely fine for you, but I totally understand how nerve wracking it is! I also had a mmc in June at 12 weeks, so until I'm past that point I can't relax. X

PomJuice · 29/11/2022 00:41

Thank you for the reply. Wishing you all the best on your journey!!
